Am I thinking of this wrong, or would the translation at 27:36 actually be more closer to meaning, "I was made to go to the convenine store by senpai"? "(私は)先輩にコンビニ行かされた" I was made by senpai to go to the convenience store. I think the one you have in the video would be closer to the translation you gave earlier with the "mom made little sister eat fish" example. So I think the translation, "Senpai made me go to the convenience store" would actually be, "先輩は(私に)コンビニに行かされた"

nope. because the part (xxx が＋verb short (歌う) +の) is basically the object of the sentence (i.e. her singing). in this case の＝こと. it's kind of a special use case of の

This would confuse me, as the potential form of 食べる - "can eat" is 食べられる but that can also mean "be eaten" under the passive form.
