Ok mate I will try and get around to it
Hi Steve, I have been watching your posts for many hours to catch up on them, your little Fergie brings back many memories for me as I learned to drive them at the age of 13 & progressed to the 35's as they came to the farm new to replace the little fergie's, that was about 60 years ago. keep up the good work & many thanks for your efforts.
Hi Trevor. Thank you for watching and reaching out. This is the reason I do it for. I’m not from the era where a lot of this stuff is from but I certainly enjoy sharing with the blokes that appreciate it. Thank you mate and thanks for sharing your story
@@stevesplacedownunder Hi again Steve, I am 74 & love all things mechanical, I have been living on Gozo Malta for 9 years after driving heavy's for most of my working life. Your work is much appreciated many thanks.
@trevorhewett834 beautiful mate. Gizmo is another one for me. I like when people share where they are watching from. Well deserved mate. Plenty more to come for you to hopefully enjoy
So much interesting history
Lots of nice rubber n tyres
Beautiful collection of history. Love to see the old machines. It breaks my heart when I see scrap yards with old tractors. Steve did I see part of a sawmill tucked away in your collection. Thanks for the tour mate. Jim Rioux
Hi mate. There’s a post mortising machine there mate. Next to the yellow tractor. That’s the only bit of timber equipment I have here
Great work bloke love your channel Great collection and awesome video hopefully you and your family get better soon and hopefully see more videos soon
Great skill set you have Steve
I like that theyre all organized and lined up🤙🏻
Thanks Steve I like all your content
Fantastic Chris thank you
Like the bike as well
Keep the videos coming Steve
Hi mate I certainly will be
Awesome morning brother and little sister from another country Awesome adventure man Awesome tour of Awesome Ole iron hope yall have an awesome day !!! Awesome brother thank you for the tour it's awesome as always
Loved the episode Steve, my dad had some of these tractors like what you were showing. With some of this old stuff, sometimes the story that goes with it makes the machine. It was a long video but i never got bored and thought it was great. PS., I know what you are saying about the editing. look forward to what is to come. Bruce.
Hi Bruce hope all is well up there mate. Yes it’s all about the history and I often wish they could talk. It would be very interesting. It was a long video yes, but it had to be to get through them all. Thanks for the comment Bruce and there’s plenty more to come.
Great Steve, it’s been absolutely miserable weather here lately. Hope your feeling better
We get a beautiful hot sunny day then every 2nd day it’s raining. Everything is growing madly and creating more work but it’s just how it is. Yes mate I’m good now. It didn’t last to long
Great video Steve, hope you're all feeling better now. Fergys are very popular in the UK, but prices have more than doubled in the last few years. It is worth saving all good tin ware. Just a thought, maybe if you did a quick restoration of the 3 Zetors, they would make a great display on your trailer at shows. Please try and save the Austin and Bedford J as they make good display trucks. Wish I could afford to ship them to the UK. I'm looking forward to the Albian video. The best truck you have, lol. I see all the old trucks on TV programmes like opal hunters and wish they could be saved. Take care my friend
Thanks Stuart I am getting there. I will eventually get the Fergie going, but not a priority at this stage. Not a lot of people over here seem very keen on the zetor tractors. I don’t know I’ve ever seen one at a show. The Austin and Bedford have been advertised but with no interest. Cabs on both are completely shot. I will do a start up on them but I’d say they will eventually be scrapped. I have no interest in them in the condition they are in. Albion video coming up soon
Steve the panels on that little tea are worth more new than what you paid for that tractor my late dad used rip rabbit holes with a tea 20 used sit on the ripper when he was ripping to get it in the ground until one day a great brown snake came up on the ripper lucky was not on it at the time you are so correct lot little tractors would stand up if not careful .seen lot videos on Facebook of people been silly with Ferguson . Love your collection mate hope you get rid of covid soon ..
Hi Alan yes mate you are probably right. I know a lot of reproduction panels are available for them through bareco too. The brown snake would of turned me off doing it again 🤣. Yes mate I’ve seen these videos of those clowns and things like that give the tractor itself a bad name. Thanks again mate and I’m sure I will get better
Fantastic episode Steve, really enjoyed it. Hope you and the family are all feeling better soon. 👍🏻🇦🇺
Hi David hope you are good mate. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was a spur of the moment thing because the other vids I have recorded require more editing than this one.
Thank you for the Thanks also mate, it really means a lot to me and can’t thank you enough. I really can’t mate do thanks again
@@stevesplacedownunder These tractors sometimes had a tendency to jam the gearbox - two gears were engaged at once. And then there's a problem with changing gears with the lever - I suspect this is also the case in your Zetorek. I really like this version. For Europe they were a bit different.
Interesting collection, great tour around the place, I wish now I'd known of you earlier last year, I would have offered you my Alis Charmers D270, there's not many of them around, it did need some work but it ran ok, I even ran it out at Kingaroy Qld. Thank for the walk around. And like you I like them in there working clothes.
Hi mate I’m glad you liked it and thanks for watching. I wish I’d known you too. That would have been amazing to get one of those. I’m not sure I’ve seen one over here.
Yes I like them in their working clothes too mate. Look much better
Great collection Steve and great commentary.
Thank you Graham
Well, firstly, I've gotta give a HUGE 'Thank You' for the shout-out!! Did not expect that, but certainly did appreciate it! Secondly, please look after yourself. Covid is a bugger of thing to deal with. When they say 'plenty of liquids', I don't think beer is what they had in mind!! Ha ha!! Lastly, I'm super tempted to come down and grab the cabin off that Austin to glue onto my Patrol chassis. Although, I think the logistics of the whole process might kill the idea.
Awesome video Steve (as usual). You've got a fantastic collection there. I'm very envious of your space, your sheds and all your toys!! Thanks for sharing it. 🙂
Hi mate thanks for the comment. I will always do a shout out if it’s necessary. We all need a bit of help I think mate. I didn’t drink much beer, I was just trying to get in a better mood than what the Covid had me in. We will discuss it more on the weekend mate
Be good to see some of them started. Enjoyable as always!
There will be mate. Thank you
Steve I think the main reason the little grey Fergies (TEA 20s and the like) tipped over so easily is due to the habit of hooking the snig chain to the top link point above the diff. They were too light in the front end to start with as you suggested but combine that with the hitch being high above the axles and ace over base you go. Their gearing was a little too high as well so everything happens too dam quick. They had a dam good reputation along the Murray in flood times though as they saved many towns and properties but especially the town of Wentworth NSW from the flood back in 56. They have even memorialised them in the Town Garden right beside the junction of the Darling and the Murray River in Wentworth.
Mind you, I'm sticking with my Zetor 6945. Wouldn't mind another Zetor as well though.
Ya can never have too many tractors, can you Steve. Cheers mate.
Hi Bruce. Yes mate that’s right about pulling to high. The front is incredibly light. And as you say they are geared where it all happens so quickly. I wasn’t aware of the reputation they had on the Murray. That is very interesting indeed. I guess they had their place mate and they certainly did the job in the flood by the sounds of it. I have 3 Zetors here, the one we use I love. Thanks for sharing mate
Had an awesome time walking around with you seeing all the Ole iron and hearing the history especially about the one you bought while you were having a good time lol 😆
Gday Robert I’m glad you enjoyed it as always mate
Thanks for the look good luck
Thank you Daniel
Great Steve thanks for the info . Great collection mate. Sorry for your granddad accident
Thank you mate no problem
The TE 20 was a great tractor in its application ,, came in Diesel,,, Petrol and Kero and straight Petrol ,, about 20 hp came with a whole range of implements,, pulled a 2 furrow disc plough easy ,,, Ive ploughed 4 acres a day easy,, only problem you couldnt get a days work out of a tank of petrol , consequently you were topping up the petrol tank at lunch , and if you spilt petrol over a hot exhaust manifold you may well end up in the shit,,
Watched all the way Steve. All the best Evan.
Hi Evan thank you mate. I often wonder how many do😄
Ripper Steve. Yes, watched it from go to end cobber. Enjoyed every bit and had a few cans while watching. Could not see you having one by yourself mate.🤠
Gday Daryl. I do wonder how many people watch right through mate. I had 2 or 3 Daryl but they weren’t as good as I was hoping, but Covid does funny things
The Oliver 1800 was manufactured in Charles City, Iowa USA in mid to late 60s. Good tractors.
Hi Jim thank you mate this is interesting. Will be more to come on this one
Love the content Steve ,, keep it up,,
Thanks Russell I will be mate
Something for everyone in your collection. I just dragged a Deutz D5206A home on Friday out of the Hawkesbury, old girl spent her life at a orange orchard. Hadn't run for 9 years threw a battery in her and off she went like it was run yesterday.
Hi mate. It’s good to see another one saved. I don’t think anything would stop a deutz
@@stevesplacedownunder they're good machines, fairly simple and not much to go wrong, it's got 9700 hours on her. There's also 3 David Browns to come home. A 770 with a knackered clutch, a 885 high clearance and a 1210 4wd with a David Brown loader.
I know they are good engines, never really had much to do with the tractors themselves. It sounds like your collection is growing nicely mate
@@stevesplacedownunder it's the first deutz I've had anything to do with, spent a bit of time on it 9 years ago mowing the orchard. I'll have 6 David Browns, 4 Same's, a Case 750D drott, a fiat dozer and a Domino Personnel Equipment transporter which is a MF50C industrial tractor with the steer axle at the back which came out of a coal mine near Appin
Nice collection enjoyed this
Thank you David
The Fiat 513 were popular in the sugar industry in Qld ,, the bigger brother to the 411R, there about 60 hp ,, a few found them selves on Don Mizzi cane harvesters in the Mackay area
TE20 was what I learnt to drive on back in the 70’s when I was about 7 years old. It pulled an offset disc plow no problem 🙂
Really enjoyed that Steve thanks for posting, perhaps you may be short of a Nuffield/Leyland or two? I have found that it’s best not to get rid of anything because one day you will have renewed interest in something and if it’s gone you may regret that…
Hi mate, yes I need a Nuffield or a Leyland. We had one many years ago and was a great tractor. Was a 4wd Leyland. I don’t usually get rid of anything but I’m not interested in the model of these trucks and they are in fairly bad order. I’d rather someone that can use them take them.
Bloody hell fellas you got some bloody rippa toy,s & projects there Steve CHEERS KEEP ON KEEPING ON RON ,, SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Gday Ron hope you are well mate. I have a lot of stuff mate yes. Some I will fix up and some I will leave as is. Plenty to do here Ron. All the best mate
Gday Steve, what a bloody awesome collection, it’s good to see these being saved, video editing is very time consuming for sure, I spent all day yesterday at the computer for a 25min video, great video mate, cheers
Gday Matty thank you mate. Yes I save what I can but can’t save them all. The editing gets done by my wife but with the kids on holidays it’s hard to get episodes out. Yes a half hour video is roughly 8 hours editing which a lot of people don’t see. Hope you are going okay mate.
Great episode, mate. Hope you get over the Covid soon!
Thank you mate
Great episode. Thanks for sharing... An Upton tractor would be the Holy Grail.
Hi mate thanks. Yes it would be great to have one here
The MF35 4 cyl was known by their colour , tin work was grey like the TE20s and the motor was gold , went well when you got it going ,, cranked it to 2700 reves , in 1964 hauling cane at Mackay ,, went like a rocket 🙂
Hi Steve. I was told that alot of people who had money brought a Gray Fergie to get another petrol rashtion. Often parked up an not used much. Allowed these people more freedom to travel futher.
Hi Marc, this is something I’ve learned today. I have never heard this but it’s probably right because I’ve come across a fair few that don’t look at all worn out
Thanks
Also interested in the old kenworth cab
Chamberlains ❤um I got "Champion"mk4 loved vids on it. Got off my ass and worked on mine😉😂thank you! Set up tripod on days ya don't wanna talk and just work👍.
Hi mate thanks for watching. Plenty more to come on that one
Hi Steve. Can you do a tour of all your smaller equipment and engines? Take care mate. Bernard from RSA!
Hi mate yes I can no problem. I haven’t got a lot of different ones but do have a few
Mint collection of tractors but still need more😜
Hopefully you and the family kick covid in the ass and get well soon mate👍🏻
Could do with some wheel weights on the T5060 for loader work. Are the wheels water ballasted?.
Hi mate. I will get to 100 tractors, that’s my secret goal anyway 🤣.
T5060 has water in it yes. It’s not when picking things up that the back comes up, it’s just very unstable with weight in the bucket
50:20 I had no idea Renault made Tractors! I've never seen one here in NZ. My first car was a 1970 Renault 8!
Yes mate. Go and watch the episode where I took my mates green and white Kenworth to pick it up, along with the 46 Ford truck and the v8 engines
Then Claas bought Renault tractors.
Yes truck tour please! We have a lot in common (but
You have more!)
Fantastic mate ok yes I will soon enough
Hi mate okay I will try and do one soon enough
And also the front end loader off the 564 and my name is Dean
Awesome collection! Although your Allis Chalmers WD looks like a WC 🤔. Regardless, great collection!
Hi mate thank you. It could be a wc, not really sure
My dad told me CBH grain used to have a heap of these chamberlain R1250 in WA and he had one as a loader and a brick fork
Hi mate this is great. I believe they are hard to get now, that’s why I jumped on the other one I made the deal on. It’s good to hear from others that had them. Thank you 🙏
No worries, there’s still a few with big grain buckets on them around wa in the smaller older CBH sites
I wanna see that bulldog running, lol
Possibly one day mate
About the I H. B250, would be surprised if the camshaft lobe on the pump is worn.CAV made good stuff. I would first do a compression test on the cylinder not firing.
Hi mate I actually did a basic compression test on it and seemed to have plenty of. I since have got a kit and will do it again but the old injection pump bloke we use here said it was fairly common for the lobes to go if they had no oil in them
Wow never though a Holden red motor would fit in a D2. Would love to see that video
It fits in there nicely. I will do a video of it
@@stevesplacedownunder thank you
Your sounding kind of tough, hope you feel better soon. Seeing the 4911 Zetor we started, if I close my eyes and listen to the birds I feel like I’m there.
I’m getting there mate but still positive. Yeah that’s the one we started. I actually got an email last night asking if I wanted to sell it.
@@stevesplacedownundermy motto, only buy, never sell!
That’s how I’ve mainly been mate, but see what he has to offer. I’m trying to grow the collection so it would have to be a good offer to let it go
Be entertaining to find something the old Lantz would not run on. They seem to regard almost anything as fuel, including creosote. Oddly economical because although they use a fair bit of fuel per hour, that fuel might be dirt cheap or even rejected for use by anything else, possibly even a Marshall. The little Fergies or Ford Fergies were the first to introduce the 3 point concept. Newer stuff may well do it better or safer, but it was the ground breaker. On the market at the same time as the Lantz and the Marshall......
I’ve only ever run it on diesel, whatever is easiest I will use because of how hard it is to start. Yes they invented the Fergusen System mate
Hope you recover soon and your family
Hi mate thank you 🙏
Hey Steve, in the sixty's farmers in SA after many got killed by flipping they started to fix weights ti the front cannot rember how heavy the wights were.
Hi Peter yes I believe they did. It would of made them a lot better
Hi Steve great collection you got it was very interesting but I just remembered I still got a 1950s Lincoln welder with 3 cil, perkins runs very well but it's been in my mains backyard for 6 years now the welder still works well but the 240 has lost its power so I got new brushes for it cost 98 dollars but they are not been fitted it is trailable on wheels only to move around the site, 12oo dollars if any ones interested ,,CLIFFORD down south coast NSW.
Hi Steve 👍vid I have a grey Ferguson and my thoughts are if you run them with the genuine Ferguson 3 point implements and genuine 3ton trailer ect they can put a days work in you might be surprised if you had a day ploughing with a genuine Ferguson 2 furrow plough on some decent ground mate
Hi Nick yes mate I don’t doubt they were okay at some things. I’ve never really used one apart from loading one on a truck one up a ramp and it was very hairy because the implement kept pulling the front up. It’s just stories I’ve heard from having an interest and a lot say the same thing about them. I still like it regardless
Hi Steve are you willing to sell the badges off that kenworth cab as Ia am trying to collect some for my young nephew I also love watching your chanel keep up the good work saving all the old stuff
Hi David. He can just have them. I’m not sure how they are but welcome to them. Thanks for watching also mate. It’s much appreciated
Hi steve, with your ih b250, i would swap injectors around to see if the miss changes cylinder, injector may be faulty, broken or stuck nozzle or broken spring?
Hi mate I have done it a few times. Problem stays on the same cylinder.
The Chamberain had a road gear of 27 mph which is about 45 km/h. Think you said the wrong units. Were a fun tractor but.
Hi mate yes that’s what I did mean. Thanks for pointing it out
Hey mate could we swap details I am interested in the Austin and the Bedford and also few questions on rebuilding starter motors
Gday Dean. Our email is in the channel description mate if your keen.
Hi Steve how can I get in touch about the Bedford and the Austin thanks
Hi mate. The email address is in the channel description
I didn't see the second Zetor 4911 in the video, you don't have it anymore. Nice collection. Will you reply to my email about Zetor 4911?
Hi mate there’s only one 4911 which was at the end of the video, then the 5911 and 6911 were together. Yes I will, I haven’t read emails yet
@@stevesplacedownunder Hi, What's the easiest way to contact you? Do you use WhatsApp or Massager?
Sorry mate Massey don't steer!
Yeh I agree new tractors are just boring
They do a great job but not very interesting
