This is EXCELLENT news. Just like you, I cannot find ANY review for what small/mini drones can haul. Just "this is not supported. thank you for contacting" - so I will give the DJI Mini 2 a try in Galveston soon. Don't really have the funds for a $1299 payload drone.
I haven't pulled the trigger. The more I read, the more I think putting that much weight and stress on a mini drone is just asking for trouble. Still searching ...@@i_am_wi11_
Sorry for the delay in responding to the bait weight question. The maximum date weight that I used was 4 ounces. I’m not saying that it wouldn’t of picked up more than that, that was just one I was using. One of the things that I noticed after mini mini drops Waze I started getting An alert in the app saying that a motor was over spinning. I noticed that when I used it to carry repetitive payloads, I started getting this warning more frequently. I didn’t have any issues develop from that, but I wanted to let everyone know that it was happening. My suggestion would be to home lighter payloads, and get them deployed quicker. I was taking my time looking around for fish before I dropped the bait, so that could’ve had something to do with the issue.
I really want to see it in action. I got the DJI mini 2 se. It’s super light so I am worried about it being able to support the weight of all that fishing line, weight and lure
Glad you liked it. Hope it helps. One suggestion for you is that if it starts to rain, get it down immediately. Those motors are going to be so hot. That rain can pop a solder joint. I think that’s what happened to me. Mine crashed. Just as it started to rain, the motor sound changed, and the mini flew diagonally into the trees. I was not able to control it at all. Happy for him and good luck fishing. Please subscribe for more.
Curious why you didn’t make a simple hook type rig where you simply turn the drone around and the ring would fall off the hook. No limitations on distance and much simpler.
Yes, I started having the same error when I was lifting heavier payloads. Especially when I flew too heavy for too long. I believe the drone automatically compensated for the heavier payload by over spinning the motors. I can’t prove this, but I’m pretty confident that’s why you are getting the errors. It never stopped me from using the drone for fishing though. Just try to get out and back quickly, before the motors heat up. It will probably overheat and crash one day, but that’s the chance I’m willing to accept. Good luck fishing.
@@BigGuyReviews thanks for the reply and yeah I was thinking the same because I didn’t notice any difference and I even let the drone hover in front of me and I didn’t notice any of the motors spinning faster or out of balance so it could be that the drone detected an instance that the motor over revved. The odd thing is sometimes I get the error with no weight on the payload drop it’s just the legs and the drop device and it will trigger the error so I wanted to see if yours did the same with no weight but just the drop device on the drone.
How can you attach the red cable through the drone and how did you add the cable to the controller, can you explain me brother? i have the same thing and I do surf fishing and need more range, you think you can explain to me?
I had the same questions as the video is not clear how/where to connect on the payload device itself. The wire on the payload remote is easy to see/understand. @Big Guy Reviews, can you please provide more info?
Hey Bushman, if you can’t figure out how to pop the cover off and connect 2 wires together, you probably shouldn’t try it. I was just trying to help people understand that the range can be extended. It was never intended to be an instructional video on how to do it.
Marco, Thanks for the question. There is an antenna wire on on the release mechanism. Strip the plastic off the copper wire, and attach another copper wire (any gauge wire will work). I just twisted them together for testing purposes, but I would just suggest soldering them together. As for the remote, same thing. Pop the cover off and connect to the wire at the base of the antenna. I just did this on the fly, so that’s why my installation looks so messy. Good luck. Big guy reviews is not suggesting you do this. That’s why it wasn’t an instructional video on how to do it. If you choose to do this, BGR is not responsible for crashed drones.
wtf you didn't show it lifting anything at all... just a drone on a table and a lot of talk. You didn't show how the release mechanism works even. Very poor production.

Did you try it yet ? I’m thinking about getting one and trying it in Galveston as well lol

Guys don’t forget to turn on payload mode in the fly app and happy dropping 💯
Biu
But payload mode only lets you go 160ft
@@Joshua-nd3lk your trippin I got 1200 all day
So you splice the wire and open the remote connecting to the wire that goes to the controller?
Thanks for sharing i recently got one and wanted to know, do you have a chargeing light, i dont think mines charging
Cant you just connect the wire and wrap it around the antenna or open the remote up and wrap it inside the wire inside
I LIKE IT
Nice video mate did it actually fly? I am doing my own set up using mini 3 for fishing

How I need more range
genious
Thanks.
Does your have the error propellers rotating too fast sometimes? I have this exact drop and drone.

this was a terrible video that explained absolutely nothing at all and there was no proof of concept... just his talk.

@@BigGuyReviews thanks brother awesome video
Are you saying the stock mini 2 rf range was 350 ft? I thought it was 10km? The added weight would reduce flight time but has no effect on rf signal.
No, the range for the bait release has a range of approx. 350 feet straight out of the box. The drone range is over 5 miles.
I don’t understand why you were only able to take it out to 350 feet ? I could see battery runtime being affected but range …?
@@robbiezambelli6378 Remote control distance: 100 meters (airdrop device limitations)
Just put the controler for airdrop on the drone controler
How much weight will it hold? 8oz?
So it can carry 4 oz and then some hmm sounds good
Update on your 2009 Dodge Ram did you figure the problem?
It was never fixed. Sold it
Maximum what oz?
😄👍
Max bait weight?
Just posted full answer in main comments. My max 4 oz.
