For some ppl on low elo that want to use this tips remember this: 1. U can't use same trick every round 2. Jett can put their smoke on the recon, so u still need to listen their step 3. Try to get easy angle to peek them 1by1 4. Don't make yourself on open place to long while u peek 5. Higher u shot the recon better view you get 6. Its the most important thing. If u want to use trick to get kill, remember this is not a single player game. Sometimes giving information much better than get kill
You can do this every round if you do it correctly, you want to dar high and behind them, if they don't shoot it they die, if they turn to shoot it they die, same goes for fade eye
On low elo, I don't think most players would have to worry about a Jett smoking the dart off. At worst, they'll encounter it at a Silver 3 or Gold Lobby, but below that I doubt it. And they might want to just shoot the dart quickly and hide because if I know any better, it's that Iron-Bronze elo loves to run stuff down.
Oh trust me in lower ranks that scan is the literal best way to get your team to come over to your side(don't trust pings as much), so just be careful of player interactions in case weird scenarios like this one pops up
It'll be hard to play off the dart if jett smokes& dashes and either takes the fight or smokes dart or raze just double satchels onto you etc etc but it's a way better idea than most do

Valorant or any competitive games in that regard are all dynamic, making flowchart decision’s can be devastatingly worst than if you had just winged it. Just try to feel out the scenario for yourself, think of every little possible scenario’s and see which move would be the best way to win the game.
It’s gonna take a long time to get used to it, especially if you’re not familiar with making up in depth strategies on the fly, but you’ll get there eventually.

The opposite for me. They don't want me shooting darts if I can't gather enemies. And don't want me to chat because they have more kills than me. Fortunately we lost the game quickly as I didn't chat later what I reconned. Very toxic team.
Another important tip for intel gathering abilities, "Whenever no information is returned after using these abilities, that is already a useful information" So there are only 2 possibilities, it's either they really aren't there or they are using your abilities against you. So make sure to report something like "dart did not reveal anything" or "no one shown in cams" and not reach conclusions right away like "did not reveal anybody on A, maybe they're B"

I was immortal 3 last act and starting again this act. I play sova quite often and my play point on A is tree. Since enemies often smoke gate, they give you cover allowing you to shoot through smoke. Since sovas util on Ascent is excellent for retake, the earlier scan lets you get picks relatively safe. Allowing you to fall back and play retake with your team. Sova playing onsite isnt really what his kit is meant to do. His kit is normally meant for pushing. Like retake and clearing corners. Having him onsite compared to someone like a duelist is way less impactful.
This is the sole reason why I always autolock Fade or either Sova on certain maps because I usually get random teammates locking them and then using their scans in a useless part of the map.

It doesn't matter, unless they already entried you shouldn't rotate immediately, unless your team literally has 0 stalling util, which is unlikely in ranked. Gold> doesn't count.
third thing you need no spot at the start of the round if you read enemies. if in the last 3 rounds they alternated bombs, it's very likely they will alternate again. And if they lose a round for a stack, it's likely they will play again in same side because of raw ego.
Thats what I’m always saying, people in low and mid elo get too lost in using utility and forget to use the abilities that everyone else has (ears, jump spotting, even a good unexpected dry peek)
Same applies to so many other types of util on defense but people really want that early round predictable use of it for some reason, I guess it makes them feel like they're doing something
The only problem about shooting the arrow when they are alreasy inside the bomb is that they are on the same place as you . Your probaly gonna die when you pull the bow
I know this comment is a bit late but although that’s a good idea you generally want to shoot the dart deep because even when you hear footsteps you can’t really tell if it’s for example 2 or 3 people. Especially if your trying to play with your team, if the dart scans say 3 people then you need to ask for rotates to back up the site. If it’s a 1vX situation or you know the site is about to be pushed this is a good strat
Sova would have a high chance of dying though. Jett would obviously assume they would peak right after finding them so the smart thing is to wait for sova to peak get the pick clear site and claim site.
I main sova and this a very real thing you should do, practice timing of your darts. it helps you isolate duels between you and someone maybe through a smoke or wall
kind of works but i prefer not giving my position away just to have some intel its different if you have help but if your alone and there pushing aggressively I feel like using your dart and exposing your position just gives the enemy the green light to push and kill you
the high elo players plays with high elo players, the dart after enemies are in site means won't help in low elo, it's used to know how much you enemies is reaching th site on low elo
I usually use line ups to get my dart at a off angle. The amount of times i made people freak out when i shoot my dart. Im like bronze 2 and sometimes play 3v3 against friends(who are all silver or gold) and even they freak out everytime. Its either me hitting a weird dart of me sitting on top of sage wall (grim style)
i mean that and comboing his dart with other util and that makes it super powerful. comboing it or timing it as soon as you try and retake or with a flash ult or many things
we gonna ignore the fact the first arrow does give new info? you learn its a rush, but you also learn how many. if 5 are showing, your team is free to rotate. if its 3, roations wanna play safer
Sova's utils are so insane that my Iron ass who only knows how to aim when not under pressure works in a team of Gold-Plats. It's so broken specially when they teach me where to dart.
Just so you're all aware, the same applies for Cypher cameras, Fade eyes etc etc. You only use these to find out where the enemies are if you're not hearing anything on either site 😅 (and even then you could just be patient and wait)

As a Sova main, I can vouch, even if you don't have the greatest aim, he is still a lot more useful. But he is only truly strong on maps like ascent, split, bind, and haven. I recommend switching to skye on maps like fracture, lotus, pearl, and even ice box.
The sova in my team shoots dart even when he knows the enemy's info. The enemy gets scanned and that's all. My sova does nothing to capitalise on that info.
I learned this on my own but then my teammates get mad at me for not using my dart for info early round like bro you're standing lane you can hear them in garage why do I have to scan for info... I've just started wasting my drone so my teammates can be happy.

I played against a good sova that did this, they also had a cypher which just made it obnoxious but it was impossible on attack
