Well done explaining the mullet run with aerial drone footage! The explosions of fleeing fish from predators (snook, tarpon, shark) and how they shelter between rock-jetty structures was on point. I too couldn't wait for the lifeguards to leave, SO YOU COULD START FISHING. Out here on the West Coast, we don't have such species or such runs but I can totally relate to immersing yourself in the conditions just to catch some fish... even if you do lose your sunglasses!
Started fishing this year at the age of 22 and I live in West Palm Beach. Just now learning about these things is so friggin exciting and I wish I would’ve been taught so much sooner to fish salt/fresh water. Awesome video man!
Hey Victor, long time fan. Mullet run is going strong. I fish a little further north around the Ponce Inlet area. Went out this weekend and caught 2 slot reds on a pompano rig AT THE SAME TIME. Caught some more after that and it seemed that as long as you had mullet then it was going to get whacked by something. Anyways, love your channel, congrats to you and Brooke. Keep up the great work.
With your new setup at the house, would be awesome to go over how you clean your gear after surf fishing like this. Every time I surf fish, it takes a ton of cleaning my gear to get it back up to top performance.
We use 3oz-4oz 6.5” Hogy Protails and 7” 3oz Tsunami swim-shads for tarpon here in Panama City Beach from the piers. Definitely my favorite fish to catch! 🤘🏼 I wish we had a mullet run and glass minnow run like y’all get.
After watching these great videos, I’ve come up with a name for the the blow ups….Fishing fireworks! The blow ups from above look like 4th of July Fireworks.
I had to explain to some people on the beach in Daytona during last year's run there why it might not be the best time to go swimming. The pelicans were going nuts diving on them.
Hey Victor. With your GoPro mic, your audio often only comes through the left channel. I noticed because I wear a headset and usually keep the left side off my ear. Should be easily fixable when you're editing to pan the audio to both channels.
Ye when my uncle used to target kingfish he had one monster weighted treble hook and when he was fishing on bridges he would drop it down on a rope and use it as a gaff since gaffs only get to like 7ft
Hey Victor, If I am looking to visit Florida to fish the mullet run, what is the best way to track down the schools of fish, and determine what part of Florida I should visit?
Great video man. I definitely plan on utilizing that snag rig. I've never fished the mullet run before but my work is sending me to Cape Canaveral for training next week so I'm hoping to be able to fish it on my off time!
Seems like a weighted bunker snag hook would be ideal for this...used to leave the bait on and the strippers would grab it before you could get it back to the boat.
You really need a bunker snag..its a weighted treble specifically for snagging bait fish, also you dont need to unhook the baitfish..just snag and drop, we have been doing this for years with stripers
@@bunka-boydrew2874 bunker stay from spring to fall, peanut bunker run late july until dec or water temp below 55 Mullet run out here late aug til dec, there everywhere now.
For a good minute I thought you meant you snag a fish, pull the fish off the hook and put the fish in your pocket and you’re ready to get another fish 😂😂
Fishing has been so rough out here in Bradenton and Anna Maria. Red tide too alot of big fish. I'll be heading to Juno this weekend and hit up that side of the coast. Another nice vid 💪
First I thought lol. shout out from Maine my guy b loving ur vids . Congrats on all ur success. From one fisherman to the other keep grinding we respect 💪💯 ur hussle
I want to go to Florida during the mullet run I have a ton of saltwater poppers for snook and tarpon they make enormous pops and I can never use them cause there no saltwater and no freshwater fish would eat a 8 inch popper
That's what I'm saying, its interesting to see people in one part of the country get so excited about something we've been doing in the NY Bight for decades
Hey Victor, if you ever want to, i drone fish all the time off the beaches in Melbourne/ Sebastian. would make an awesome video if you ever wanted to try it!

Who's ready for the mullet run??? Follow me on IG for live updates: @landsharkoutdoors
Hey Vic , why don't you catch some of those mullet and do a smoked mullet catch n' cook with Brooke!!!

My left ear really enjoyed the intro
Bruh I thought you lost your rod when that wave hit you 😂😭
JunoRyan lol same
I thought so to bruh
PWNMOB mafia it’s fine if you have a sealed reel and rinse everything with freshwater after
He did
I like your off shore work but love your land based videos. Would like to see you and Brooke do more of these!
With a couple of cheep mullet wigs this vid could have been next level
Excellent video. My first mullet run and you showed me a great way to get some live bait without all the crap! Thanks!

I love this video Vic it was like I was in the wave while you were filming it. That was the coolest video but the worst that you lost your sunglasses.
Get after them!!! Love it
HELL YEAH BROTHER!!! finally the mullet run hitting us
Wait... you pay for a fishing license and you can’t fish at some beaches because of swimmers!?! Do the swimmers pay to go swimming or something?
I mean TECHNICALLY in Florida a saltwater fishing from shore license is free lol but I get what you mean
That is so right...
Victor I totally enjoy your videos since last 2 + years and you are doing a fab job
Landshark you the best fisherman out there, keep it up!!!!!!!
Hey Vic, take a look at the Pilotfish sunglasses retainer - they cinch down to the back of your head so you don't lose any more expensive shades!
Dam. That's awesome video with drone filming massive mullet run and tips to snatch & throwing lures.. This is exciting and rare. Thank you
I'll be there in October! Very excited!
Nothing like putting a treble hook in your pocket
awesome footage of the feeding frenzy

Yo! Brandon! Need to get together and fish one day. I am down in Cocoa now, but I go up and fish Ponce periodically still.
Hell yeah! Dope footage bro💪🏻
What did the wave say to the face ...... 😂 great video Vic
Back on the beach AWESOME. let's get the line tight with some shark

What about spoolteks?
Gio spoolteks are 19.99ea and most of the time we break the tarpon off at the bottom of the pier so 20 bucks a fish gets expensive haha.
Nathanielj91 very true haha
Nathanielj91 hogy protails are like 7$ a pop too though right?
Gio 9.99ea here. It’s expensive either way.

My left earbud doesn't work though.
Awesome video! But I can’t believe you put a treble hook in ur pocket lol!
Very cool, although nothing special. We get the same thing in the Northeast with massive tonnage of bunker, sand eels and spearing.
Please keep making videos. Yes long time subscriber. Have fun . Smoke more herbs
How Koool. Mavericks Drone. Close as is Best🎣🐟🤙
Thx for uploading again
Great tip Vik! 👍
wooooo!!I Mullet Mullet
Nice drone work man, we are giving it all a crack too
They make weighted treble hooks for snagging
Ye when my uncle used to target kingfish he had one monster weighted treble hook and when he was fishing on bridges he would drop it down on a rope and use it as a gaff since gaffs only get to like 7ft
Is there a disadvantage using a weighted treble or "Snag" rig.? We fish the same method in Jersey for live lining Bunker. Thanks....big fan!!

Seems like a weighted bunker snag hook would be ideal for this...used to leave the bait on and the strippers would grab it before you could get it back to the boat.
Just buy a snagging hook and clip it on.
Hello Vic did you see Barbs buzzin in the video? He has a RUclips channel too.

I’ve seen this in cape cod but I was not into fishing back then. You can legit just grab them by the handfull
That first tarpin was cute my dream is to go to the ocean and catch a monster
Nice what pound braid you were using
You think those lures would work for me out in SoCal?
Is there a video link to how to tie a lure and weight on the line. Or hook and weight. Thanks in advance
RUclips "fishing knots". You'll find MANY videos.
Sick bud!!!

Vic do you have the specs on the rod? Length, power and line class?
Motivation bruh

Ur welcome Victor n thank u
Great video!!
What kind of drone do you have and are you happy with it/would still buy the same one?
Looking to get one. Thank you

So sick
What about spooltek lures?
Would this be equivalent to the grunion run on the west coast? I’ve only seen them run at night, do they run in the day?
Hey man love the channel. Only guy I know who like Yo Zuri line
Yo Zuri line👎
Sick video. What kind of rod were you using to cast out those mullet?
Custom rod
Nice video man! 👍 What custom rod you using? Who made it? and what blank? Also what line and lure rating?? Thanks man!!
Instead of rigging your own snag hook contraption why not just use a weighted snag hook like we use up north to snag bunker.
That's what I'm saying, its interesting to see people in one part of the country get so excited about something we've been doing in the NY Bight for decades

Shane Johnson sure man! It’s a blast. Great for shark fishing and great for getting a hogie out to a school
Another great video sorry about the glasses but When does the Mellott run and
What kinda blank are you using?
Do bluefish bite through those Hogys?
Love the videos. Just got some of those Hogy’s, and they smell strong. Do you soak yours in gulp or anything?
Awesome!
Deerfield 😍
Hogy is all I use in the northeast
yozuri is da bomb. the yozuri mag darter or hydro minnow works realllyyy good in the mullet run and surf in general
They work great for snook I use them in mosquito lagoon
Stocked to watch your journey through the mullet run 🤘🏼
I've caught a huge mullet in a cast net it was my first time to lol great vid ❤❤🎣🎣
Ha, I also lost a $200 pair of Smith's earlier this year from a wave.
