Just bought the laptop on Amazon. Can't wait to open it's body. Thanks for showing how simple it is...
Salut! Ai idee daca adaug un ssd iese laptopul din garantie?
I have TUF FX506IV-AL129T which was added 1 8gb RAM. However the black cover from spare slot was not reinstalled back. Is it ok?
Wifi upgrade to 6 is not expenisive. Looking to add a second hdd when i get mine so this helps thanks
Looking forward to your screen upgrade video
For now WiFi 5 card is good enough, but I'll probably upgrade to a WiFi 6 card in the future. I'll receive the screen next week and post a video.
Why not disconnect the battery? I think it's a mistake.
Quick question: Will the laptop work fine if the read/write speeds of your two SSDs are different from each other?
yea
Hi bro have you tried to connect ipad pro 2018 (usb c to usb c) with your laptop is it working i mean can your laptop detect the ipad pro for data or just charging the ipad waiting for your reply
It's an issue with newest bios(311). Try to move back to bios v309
So you basically swapped out the default ram completely and bought a new 2x8 gb pack and installed them ?
Yes. I sold the one that came with the laptop and bought a new pair. It's better to avoid mixing different rams and also the new ones have better latency (CL20) compared to the stock one (CL22).
By any means does this void the warranty ???
I also bought the same lappy but im confused, if i opened the pannel does this void the warrant ?
nope
Depends on the store you bought it from, for me it does void my warranty if I open it myself but not if you go to the store you bought it from... so yeah it sucks for me
Do you have an amazon link for the upgrades?
Just search up ram or ssd for fx505
So basically it has 2 RAM slot and 1 SSD slot.... For upgrading to 32gb we have to sell old 8gb RAM and for upgrading SSD also we have to remove old 256 SSD.
Am i correct ?
You are correct only regarding the RAM slots. For the SSD my model has 2 NVME slots (I just added an extra one).
Hello Alex, I bought the same laptop and will replace RAM by
Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz CL16 and I also want to upgrade with a SSD.
However, do you know if a SSD like WD black sn750 with heatsink can fit in a laptop ? The price difference is not much with or without Heatsink and it seems like it's a good feature to have but I am kind of lost when I look if that will fit in a laptop.
Hi, just wondering could you tell me the timings of the ram that you replaced? I'm waiting for my A15 to be delivered and want to buy matching 8gb stick for it as well?
Here is a printscreen from CPU-Z: i.postimg.cc/WzGFRN0g/ddr4-asus-a15.jpg
I also did some searching before making the purchase and found out that there's no way to set the XMP profile in BIOS for the Asus A15, meaning that the RAM will work only at JEDEC TIMING which based on the datasheet ofered by Kingston ( www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX432S20IB2K2_16.pdf ) is DDR4-3200 CL20-22-22.
That's why for 16GB kit I don't think there's something better than HyperX HX432S20IB2K2/16.
I sold my 8GB stick and purchased the pair. If you just want to get a matching stick, you can get a Micron or Crucial 3200Mhz DDR4 CL22.
