What stupid annoying writing with the burglar. They are so annoying. Not turning the lights on? She doesn’t know how to dial 999? The whole scene is just irritating and I love this show.
There were times when Hester could be annoying, but in this episode she really is unbearable. Even that fat scrounger from next door is almost likeable compared to her...and that saying something. No wonder William always had a drink when he got home, he never knew what that mad scatter brain would be up to.
I can empathize. This is my 3rd time watching all the episodes, and I am finding her a bit grating, this time around - but that's as much my mood lately. There are times I enjoy "Keeping Up Appearances," and there are others I avoid it like, well, you know who😉. But, something I have noticed, this time around, that this show bears a certain similarity to the classic "I Love Lucy" Lucy was always wanting to be involved in Rick's work. Granted, there's not much similarity between Sonja and Viv, but she could fill the sidekick role..
10:48 The tv coordinator is the vicar from Keeping Up Appearances.
This episode had me in giggles 😂😂😂👌
The man in the headphones is the Vicar from Keepung Up Appearances
The Trivial Pursuit scene is so true to life 😆 at least in my family
My mum loved blue rinses back then!
Nice to see the burglar wearing the traditional striped sweater garb of his chosen profession.
Hester wears those belted shirts and tunics that were trendy in the '80s. I had plenty.
I thought that style suited more women than short tops or tucked-in blouses, and it's certainly nicer than t-shirts.
@@LynxSouth Yes they are.. XD
I love that they get all chatty and share a drink with the burglar
The wonderful Jan Hunt ( from Crackerjack) as the Wardrobe lady
Hester to Sonya, “sherry, whisky (William chimes in “sideboard.”). Hilarious.
That is Barry Killerby as the boom mic operator; at 12:30 he would later go on to be Mr. Blobby.
GADZOOKS...😋😋😋😋😋 luv it.
The thief is Charlie, the gardener who appeared in A Fine Romance.
His name was Harry Fowler.
We were playing this on hols recently and had a few disputes about answers too lolz..
Hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha
This must have been when Trivial Pursuit first came out.
Quizzes have long been a thing in US
Hester says her mother is in her sixties. She looks about 80.

is the producer the Vicor from Keeping up Appearances ?
That's what I thought
He's not the producer, he's the floor manager.

Not just this episode. Hester was just an annoying cow when she thought she wasn't getting her way. I would have chucked her out real fast.

1:59 Why would William smell the bottle of scotch?!!
They used to use cold tea...
why is the burglar dressed like Freddy Kruger? lol
@Theseustoo Astyages 😂😂😂😂 and the police still can't capture them
@Theseustoo Astyages very true 😂😂
I know right..But that pattern was out long before Freddy.. XD
Also.... people with kids will be reminded of "Where's Waldo" (similar). 🙂
@Theseustoo Astyages they are much busier making sure places stay clothed and people don't demonstrate now..Happy Days!!

It‘s almost embarrassing to see what was considered to be funny back then.
