- Sometime the most dangerous predators a hunter can come across in the woods is another person.
While hunting in 2008 on private land three military members ENCOUNTERED a couple of men who gave them an off vibe. That night those men returned ARMED and the hunters soon found them selves facing a potentially DANGEROUS situation.
This is a personal story of mine and to this day remains to be one of the most DISTURBING encounters I have ever had while camping or hunting.

Apologies if i sound stuffed up like crazy in this one. Was down filming for a few hours and the good old allergies to our Guinnea pig started acting up. Having said that, what would you have done in our situation?
About the same thing I figure they had ditched something there or were planning a grow operation but I definitely would have let them know myself and my guys were there and armed! We got the same crazy shit happening down here also, you never know brother!
@@williamhaynes2836 Ya that was our first thought. We went through that piece of bush with a fine tooth comb and found nothing.
When I was in the military I was stationed at Ft Bragg North Carolina, 82nd Airborne Division my cousin was in The 20th eng brigade and about 7 of us would go camping in the Appalachian, blue ridge mtns, we had some crazy shit happen also there is definitely feral people we seen them it was fall 1989!

I am a female vet, Army MP, and one who loves the outdoors. One thing all that training gave us was a sense to keep calm and keep that head on a swivel. Always packing when i venture out as the one animal i distrust the most is the human kind. Love the stories, and stay safe!
oh oh and MP. better not share some of my stories with you then. LOL JK. Unlike some, I do have a good respect for MP's, its a pretty thankless trade unfortunately. I 100% agree, i would deal with wildlife all day long before dealing with some folks. Humans are capable of some pretty brutal acts towards others. that's forsure.

What were they looking for that they would be willing to come and approach you and keep asking who was the farmer and then come back at night searching again. Very strange incident.
Especially knowing we were heavily armed (for in Canada anyway lol). Was just all around a messed up incident

Thanks brother! Still have idea what they were doing or if they were legit or not. The was an oil company that ended up doing some sample lines on the far end of the property but when they there there there a couple years later they all had marked vehicles. It’s a fairly common thing out that way, so saying your from an oil company would be a good way remove some suspicion, but like I said no markings on the truck, never said the company name, and gave off a bad vibe. Plus to come back late at night armed?… something ain’t right about that. To my knowledge the guys in that truck never made contact with the owner either which just adds to the mystery.
@darkwilderness2392 Man, you definitely made the right call, nothing about them sounded right at all! They were definitely up to something. The fact that they came back at night sneaking around with the shotgun pretty much rules out them being with the oil company I think.

I’m not even sure if they are legal anymore, they were back then but our current government had pretty much banned most semi autos now. Hell… they did a sweeping ban a couple years ago and black rifle coffee was on the list, which shows how shit stupid they are lol. Matt Best should do a video about it lol
I feel that the current administration is going to try something like that down here as well. I'm not so sure they would allow a grandfather claus either.

What an ordeal you and your cousin and buddy experienced. Wonder what they were up to, poor woman seeming to be caught up in all that, she might've been a girlfriend or was taken against her will. They seemed to be up to no good. Glad you all searched the area for in case something did happen to her.
Thanks Jaunita. It was an experience that’s for sure. We never said we were in the army to them though so they probably just assumed we got the kit at an army surplus shop. They would have found out pretty quick if they would have tried something though that’s for sure. At that point in time I was only and engineer for about 2 years, but I was infantry before that. It wasn’t a comfortable experience but was confident in my abilities as well as buddies.
@@darkwilderness2392 Yes it must've been an intense situation. Am glad it didn't escalate. I did an extensive family research, and at first we had four generations of family members in the military. However, there is one more from the US that was in the US civil war. Four served wars and one, my brother whom passed away in 2016 was trained as a US marine at Camp Pendleton, San Diego CA
It sounds like you and your buddies ruined their plans, and they decided to come back after dark, looking for something. Or they were up to no good!

Sounds like they came back for something. Very suspicious. I think the lady was terrified knowing what ever they were after could turn dangerous with you guys there. But they obviously thought were not prepared for you guys 😂😂😂

I agree, but those guys gave off a bad vibe. If I was with civilian buddies, probably would have been a bit different, but all 3 of us had been in the army for several years at that point, so we were pretty confident we could handle anyway things could have played out. Thanks for the comment!

Ya it was messed up. First thought from all 3 of us was “we need a sentry”. It’s a good thing they didn’t try anything because with our laws up here, I probably wouldn’t be making content if they did.

That buck was shot in 2008 as well. Not a shot I would take now days though. 350yard running shot. Now days I prefer archery over using a rifle. Even switched out my muzzle loader for a crossbow. Even when I am using a firearm im up close and personal these days, and most deer ive shot with a rifle or muzzle have been fairly close to bow range because im constantly in the archery mindset.
