11. Draco becoming friends with Harry and the gang in an organic way. They started off with barely nodding to each other in the epilogue, but by the end of the play you could actually imagine them going over to each other's places for dinner.
I honestly like that Albus became a Slytheryn and his friendship with Scorpio. On paper they can make sense and could be intriguing plot points, but it was just twisted by the bad writing.
Exactly. The cursed child might be a bad book but that sentence that they make Amos Diggory say is on point; a lot of people died so Harry could survive and kill Voldemort
@@martygene we could do a whole list; cedric was the Classic case of "being in the wrong Place at the wrong time" but all the others died protecting Harry or attempting to slow the death eaters and Voldemort
The acting was pretty amazing from all of the cast, especially the Golden Trio. Even when things got a little implausible, they still provided a ton of heart.
In my opinion, one character that they did justice to was Draco Malfoy and one character that they butchered (well there are way more than one) is Harry. They did our beloved hero dirty man. Also love your videos.❤
Some other things: Albus being put in Slytherin. Albus having to deal with living up to his father makes total sense with how much impact Harry had in the Wizarding World. Bane the Centaur felt like he was true to his character as well. Visiting Cedric’s grave.
If you haven’t already, I recommend checking out A Very Potter Musical. It’s a parody musical by StarKid that actually is more faithful to Harry Potter than Cursed Child and even does some stuff better than the films.
See when you look at it from a theater perspective it’s really not that bad as a play but as a story and book it’s awful. I think most of the thought process behind making it was how much of the wizarding world could they show on a stage and the actual plot came second. There are a lot of plays (wicked for example) that skim over some details or forget things from the source material bc it’s so much easier to make a play that looks pretty rather than holds well as a story -a theater major who studied the cursed child for almost two years
I swear, every time I hear the Hobbit movies were bad, my hope in humanity dies a little more. Those movies, while no where near as good as the originals, WERE NOT BAD MOVIES. SMFH.
I’m two sided on them. One of the best things (emphasis on ONE OF) about the lotr trilogy, was the rare use of cgi. The hobbit movies just looked bad to me, it just didn’t feel real. I’m 30, so the Phantom Menace is my favorite and anytime i see my dad, I verbally massacre him for saying anything after the original trilogy is bad.
You missed the single best thing about the story: Draco’s redemption arc. Draco forsaking the Malfoy legacy by marrying a muggleborn was a great start, but to make him a tragic figure as both a widow and a loving father was terrific. There was even a point where he genuinely had the moral high ground on Harry regarding the friendship of their sons, and seeing him work with the trio at the end was a satisfying end to his arc.
I didn’t like that. And neither did Rowling. She said he should never have a redemption. I talk about it here: ruclips.net/video/EPvJYxuYBJ8/видео.htmlsi=F2Ok37ZBCaKS5ylG
@ sounds like even Rowling doesn’t realize how good of a job she did at making Draco a sympathetic character and setting him up for a redemption arc. He was pretty irredeemable in books 1-5, but the last two books made him sympathetic enough to turn him into the wizarding world’s version of Johnny Lawrence from Karate Kid/Cobra Kai. The Cursed Child was simply the follow-through.
Always refreshing to see Morgan roasting the Cursed Child. I can even imagine the golden trio bashing this book and it ends with Hermione throwing it in the trash as it’s the only book she would refuse to ever read
@TheGracie710.53 no problem. I mean I have never read the book, but after hearing Morgan roasting this book, I don’t think I’m ever going to. Also even if Hermione doesn’t burn the book or throw it in the trash, she decides to take it into the restricted section.
As soon as i saw "Cursed child" in the title of this video i immediately knew he was going to get some jabs in. Also i love the way you rewrote it. They should've had you write it
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that Harry & Draco’s kids were into each other😂I remember feeling so off when I first read the cursed child I was like “wait a minute, are they-“
They actually made changes to the script in the past couple of years to point towards Albus and Scorpius actually being romantically involved. They’ve cut out Scorpius’s crush on Rose and adjusted dialogue (eg. “this new version of us I had in my head” is now just “this new version of us”). The conversation between Harry and Albus in the final scene is also changed a little bit, Albus has a line where he tells Harry that Scorpius is the most important person in his life and may always be the most important person and is interpreted amongst many as a sort of coming out scene. Plus (although it’s not the writers who said it) one of the Scorpius actors said that he sees Scorpius as bisexual.
6:35 I don’t think the scene is at fault here for making some people think they were gay. There is a majority chance that the people who would say something like that doesn’t know what a true friendship looks like and they can only see their real-life friends as utilitarian to them.
2:20 - Okay it's been years since I've read The Curse Child by I didn't think I forgot that much until you just said that. Jesus Cedric what the heck man.
TBH, I feel like having Albus and Scorpius being a couple could've forced Draco and Harry into a situation where they realize that if they truly love their sons, they have to be willing to get along, and not want to create a new spell that is a fusion of the unforgiveable curses and Sectumsempra in order to use on each other.
The best thing was Hagrid saying to Harry as he's rescuing him from Godric's Hallow, "I'm Rubeus Hagrid, and I'm gonna be your friend whether you like or not"
The stuff back in 1980 even though it breaks previously established rules of time is extremely heartfelt. Most notably the conversation between Ginny and Harry about Albus and what he needs from his father. As parents we often forget to love our children unconditionally. Especially when we are also influenced by any personal bias. It's probably my favorite moment in the entire story.
Another Thing I'd say is good about the Play is the Idea of one of the Kids struggling to live up to Expectations and that also leading to Conflict. Many People have voiced Discontent with Albus Severus' Character, calling him whiny and mean, but honestly, I personally enjoyed it immensely.
agreed with you on no.1. Snape sequence is the best & memorable to me especially when he conjured his Petronus which is a doe, showing that even after more than 40 years after Lily death, she still Snape light in the dark

He wanted to live forever himself, not through a child. He didn't believe in the parent/child relationship. Also Albus and Scorpio were clearly into each other. Just embrace it.
Might be a weird take, but I liked that Harry was not a good dad. He went through so much in his life that having trouble to be a good dad kinda fits him.

Honestly, a west end and Broadway run of the first two A very potter musicals in the place of cursed child would be miles better than cursed child, cos at least Avpm is aware that it breaks canon. And it doesn’t actually matter. That would be so iconic
This story had potentional! I wouldn't mind a bit of new "Wizard ex machina" and multiversum stuff like in spiderman if they would at least avoid stupid retcons from the books! Without any "Ron and Hermione needed to fell jealous to be together and only this way they can be happy" Delphini potetnial as a character and villain works but the plot doesn't. I personally wouldn't mind her thinking she's the daughter of the dark lord, sience Harry thought he or Draco could be Slyterin decendances and he never questioned Tom Riddle in second book. And sience Delphini story was suppoused to be the "dark parrawel" to Harry's. It would make sense to make her "the chosen one" who is manipulated by deatheaters. Mostly Rudolphus Lestarange to think she has some bigger purpouse, but in reality she would be just they're tool, like Harry was to Dumbledore. This would work. And maybe they should make her daughter of Rudolphus instead of Voldemort. But I disagree about the blanket. It was only for a plot and very cringe. He could have give him marauders map. Maybe Albus would find a room of requirement? This would suit him well, for an edgy bad rep slyterin boy. And someone please explain to me why Scorpius simps for Rose? And why is Rose so awful, and without redemption ark?
Wait a minute...if Harry died before he had kids, how was Albus born to go back in time and eventually put in motion the series of events that killed his father??
One of the many things wrong with this play: Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Delphini should not be able to see Godric’s Hollow, as they don’t know the Secret (the house is under the Fidelius Charm and only the adult Harry, if anyone, should be able to see it, since as a baby he would have been told the Secret). It could have worked for fantastic writing, for only him to be able to witness his parents’ deaths and for the others not to be able to experience with him.
This has nothing to do with the video but I wish HBO decided to do something original instead of focusing on Harry Potter all over again. The Wizarding world is huge & maybe they could have focused on the United States or the Japanese wizarding world.

Lethal Weapon never missed. Even the National Lampoon's parody version of it doesn't miss.
This is why she wrote time travel out of the books.
Albus Severus is made to got bullied in school. Poor Slytherinboy😢😢
best thing to come from this are the memes you make about it
This has nothing to do with the video but I wish HBO decided to do something original instead of focusing on Harry Potter all over again. The Wizarding world is huge & maybe they could have focused on the United States or the Japanese wizarding world.
Jabs at the Hobbits, When snoring rings of powder excists 🙄
