Mac suffered from the curse of being too good at too many styles. He was too country for the folk and old time shows and a little to folky for the hard core country acts. He was -- and is -- one of the greatest of all the entertainers and singers. What a voice. Instantly recognizable and able to sing just about anything. He should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame as well as the Bluegrass Hall of Honor.
Great song! Marvelous entertainer. My dad loved Mac Wiseman. A voice that will never be equaled. RIP Mac. Truly one of the greats in Bluegrass and old-time music. ❤️
I just found a 78 record at a yard sale today, on the Bogan label. It's recorded by Charlie's Square D Boys, and is called by Charlie Bogan. Seems to be a hi-fi 78, maybe early 1950's. Thanks for the great video!!
I have the original 78 RPM record of this, and the flip side is "Remembering", sang prety fast compared to most of the RUclipss I find here, and it sounds better sang faster as he did, in about 1953 or so. Great man, and great singer.
I have been hearing for several years that Dennis Quaid was going to make the Spade Cooley movie. I think it would make a great movie. But not much progress seems to be forthcoming.
I love Dennis Quaid and any movie he is in is usually a good one. It would be nice to see him in a "musical" . However, after reading of how Spade killed his wife I have second thoughts about even seeing a movie about the very popular band leader of yesteryear. If Dennis wants to play a real life musician maybe he could play Tex Ritter - he had an eventful life and was very well thought of I believe. -Paula
Best voice
