- The Witcher 3 has many sorceresses, one of which is the Nilfgaardian sorceress Fringillla Vigo, who once had a relationship with Geralt of Rivia. Many know of her through her association to the lodge of sorceresses and Phillipa Eilhart, but in the witcher books she actually had a relationship with the witcher Geralt. Today I will discuss her entire story throughout both the witcher books the witcher 3 and the witcher in general. There is a lot to say about Fringilla Vigo so I hope you enjoyed the extra long witcher 3 lore video!

None of the main game characters except for Geralt has any role in the DLCs so they can be seen as complete seperate games disconnected from what ever ending you got in the main.

Now that think about it, it's a big misstep not having Phillippa in the show. She was at Sodden. they should have shown her. She is the top dog sorceress and very important character. She runs Redania more than the Redanian king does.

@Reveluv Philippa is much more powerfull than Yennefer. The only mages more powerfull than her in her time was Ida Emean, Avallach (these are sages) and maybe Francesca Findabair. Philippa mastered the art of polymorphy, very rare and few mages mastered that level of magic.

You forgott to mention that Fringilla gave Gerald in Tousaint a illusion Amulet that helps him and save his live in the Fight against Vilgefortz.
She's the one will give to Geralt a new Witcher medallion in the books.

Ah regis! He is such a perfec and charming t character. The way he takes action and makes decision is very logical and based on knowledge. He is arguably the best character of witcher
yes I love him too, so bad the author let geralts companions die. That distressed me a lot. I wished they had witnessed the rescue of Ciri and Yen and the reunion of the witcher with his women. They had deserved it, but no- so sad---

@@son_of_alandalus actually I was quite pleased with the actress and her portrayal, even if it was short. My only problem with Vigo was that she was described as similar looking to Yenna, which would make sense later in the story of the books. But given how season 2 proved that the show is not a somewhat faithful adaptation of the books but more of a fanfiction come to life, I don't really care what they do with the caracthers. After all, they did stole some iconic Philippa lines and gave them to Tissaia this season 🤷♂️

Great vid, I've already read all the books but it was good to refresh my memory. Another interesting piece of information is that one of the reasons Fringilla was able to seduce Geralt was because of how much she looked like Yennefer (dark hair and pale skin).
No wonder the striking resemblance of those characters in the Netflix show

I don't care for Fringilla's portrayal in The Witcher series. To me, the character is all wrong. She was just a mage serving her lord to me, not an evil woman seeking only power. Now if they go ahead and would show how Geralt spent a lot of time with her in Touisant in the show it wouldn't really make sense

It’s a shame we didn’t get a mysterious contract to rescue Felicia Cori from prison before she could be burned at the stake with Fringilla revealing herself as the contractor before portalling herself and Felicia away to safety. Also Fringilla should of been a potential ally for the battle of Kaer Morhen.

You missed how Fringilla was Geralt's captor for a long period time. Likely she used sorcery to enchant him to become her lover.
So I see a lot of comments about Fringilla being BAEM on the Netflix series... we’ll a lot of people, yourself included Witcher George and pretty vocally have asked what point would it make from a story aspect...changing Ciri’s ethnicity when this was a big deal about a year ago. Well the same thing can be said / asked about Fringilla, no? Nobody asked this or made a big deal about her character being changed to a black women. At least I didn’t hear anything about it. But the same thing applies! Why as far as the story goes was this change important that they had to change this characters ethnicity other than a political agenda!?! It’s bullshit and I’m sick of characters being changed and writers drifting away from the source material and cannon because they have to satisfy some group of people and stroke and ego. GTFOH.

Don't think Fringilla is Anna's cousin of the same generation since she is decades older than Anna. Toussaint is not actually a Nilfgaardian province but a neutral state locates within the conquered land of Nilfgaard. Toussaint nobles and royal families are tied to the royals and nobles in both Nilfgaard and the northern realms through intermarriagemes.

I can enjoy adaptations regardless, but the more faithful to the source material, the better. Interesting you automatically assume "everyone has to be white", if a character is originally conceived of in a certain way, then an adaptation that stays true to the original is in my opinion better. If they for instance cast a white actor to play Storm or Bishop in the X-Men, I'd say the same.

Racechange is justifiable only when it's a creative decision. By that i mean an actor of another race is so good at portraying that character that he/she gets the role anyway. When it's political it's not ok, ever. There's plenty of diversity anyways and when it's forced you can ussually see it. Only instance where race change is almost impossible to justify is in historical movies.
