Great motivation video to stop thinking and do it. I been looking into this, been thinking to start a mobile oil change business to get my foot in the door. Got everything but air compressor and generator. Should be buying this weekend. All I need is business license and insurance
I like how you mention to start slow and work up I seen people run their credit in every tool truck and store have a nice and loaded truck but can’t fix their first few customers trucks cause they get big jobs not knowing how to fix it just for the money seen lots of smaller buisness fail like that
Gotta keep those 30 30 brake chambers loaded up. I seen them and was like yup, he making bank if he keeps that many loaded up. Nothing pays better than a call for a rig that needs to get rollin.
Seriously, Thank you for this! Here’s a short story about me and thanks to you, I’m Friggin doing it! My Brain damage doesn’t effect my intelligence! Got into Logging Timber randomly after graduating high school at 18. Started cutting small red pine and cedar here in Northern Michigan, with a $170 Walmart chainsaw and a strong back and a 1 ton pickup! Built a monster!! Now, I’m 31, much wiser and got out of logging this past June, after countless major injuries, a back surgery, concussions and 2 TBI hospitalizations, the brain damage is real and permanent but only emotions are affected! Next hit, no matter how small, might be feeding tube bound soooo I have all the big boy tools from working on my Timberjack 225e and everything else related. Wife and I agreed that I can turn our decent little 22’ tandem axle camper into a mobile mechanic shop/tool crib/Air Con’d&heated office. I put an old school 1980’s 4000W Briggs generator(True watts)on the tongue and all I need to do is start the conversion of it, get the legalities right and just plain DO IT!
Bro this is inspiring I already have a trucking company but it’s been so hard man had to take out loans to stay afloat 2023 I’m still hanging in man. I was looking for another business to help my trucking business and I’m glad I found this video make me want to keep going 💪🏾
thanks for the inspirational video ive started my business this past summer. and im picking up steam. im operating in the tri cities tennessee like jc and kingsport.
My thoughts.... I worked as a truck mechanic for 15 years, before buying out an established mobile tire guy who wanted to retire. I bought a new truckwith utility bed, liftgate and underhood compressor. I aquired tirebanks in the deal for Roadway, Carolina Freighr, ABF, Shneider etc, and always had steady income from them, doing springs, air and wiring , brakeas well as tire repairs if you woek on highways, youneed to register a USDOT# You need to keep a log book, if you are doing any road repairs I ran a 24/7 service with 4 trucks, all new, all paid off with in 2 years ..... NOT the easiest of jobs! retired after 20 years of this and loved it, but developed back problems, frozen fingers and toes ! If you do not develop a core support company to work with for steady cash flow, you struggle My company income for year 2000 (3 trucks working) was well over 275k
I’ve been checking into getting a service truck, I’ve been in a suspension shop for almost 20 years, I haven’t jumped ship on my boss he’s been really good to me ,but I’m thinking he’s retiring in a few years and I really don’t want to work for anyone or any company, I’d like to get a service truck and save up for a shop of my own.taking the leap is what I’m nervous about I know I’ll be very successful it’s just taking that leap, thank you for the video.

Fuckin Do IT Now!!! Think about it 300$ for an AVG call 2hrs at 100per hour 100$ call out. Do that three times in a week thats 900 in Labor. No expenses excrpt your time. Charge mileae and parts to customer. Quickbooks is a great start.
Aye man I from the area I just had the questions and looked it up and randomly hit your video and you dropped the city name I was like oh shit. Thanks for the video keep up the good work.
Great video and mad respect for you to make ur own money. 👍👍 100% truth in this video for this who wants to be there own boss. 90 day bit inspections, lube, adjustments and oil change is a great way to start...easy money
I started my own roadside assistance business. Been doing it since September of last year. Biz is slow.... So much so I can't afford to do the advertising I need to do for it. I'm on Google. But I haven't had a call out since June. I'm in N. Central Arkansas.
I ended up motivating myself before seeing this video. But I’ve started my Mobile mechanic business a few days ago and I wish I had done it sooner. Paired with Google ads and a yelp business page, I’m getting calls and inquiries nonstop. Its such a rewarding feeling. Im taking it easy with fancy tools but like you said, buy the special tools as you go from job to job. Otherwise, most basic tools suffice for the average quick job. Im loving it so far.
Currently I’m trucker and been around trucking last 17 years. Have plenty of knowledge. I have had a lot of hard times finding mobile Mechanic to fix my trucks when I come home and park at the yard. Few mechanics I knOw they have attitude as they have upper hand due to no lack of people looking to get trucks trailers fixed. I want to start my own work. But have no clue where to start from I am Desperately looking for pick up truck or van with air compressor and some tools. Im gonna go ahead and give it chance. There’s plenty of tips Available on RUclips if y’all don’t know on some repairs fixing
Great videos man also like the one you did about fullbay. Any tips on how or who to go through for insurance? I'm having a tough time getting quotes as a mobile service.
Awesome video! Thanks for your service! I’m thinking of doing same gig, have all my tools and truck, any recommendations on work orders, payment choices and labor guides? Thank you for your motivational video!
Quickbooks is the key!! Can do invoicing and take payments. Labor you just go by the hour, roadside always has broken bolts, rusted, so a 2 hour job may take 4.
What are you guys doing for business insurance? I'm having a hard time finding general liability for mobile service..then as soon as I mention I work on forklifts they are out.
I love this. Im in my 20s i love cars and i like the whole car scene being in a garage being around car stuff. I want to be a mechanic. But I rather not work for someone. This could be great!
Subed can you do a video on getting customers. I looked but didn’t see any. I’m quitting my job in a few weeks and that’s my biggest concern or if you have any quick tips I’d appreciate it
All depends on where you live. If by a major city with alot of truck traffic you will be good. Google Ads/google business page with key words like roadside, semi truck, coolant leak ect. You can also get free or paid ads through websites like truck down or ntts
Depends on what state your in for License. As long as your registered with the county you work in you should be good. Obviously check state and local laws. ASEs are not requiered to work on Semi Trucks. Most states dont have laws and almost anyone cam Legally work pm trucks. How are u! I have a question!! Do u pay income tax?? And if u pay! How do u get the paper work? Cus i have same truck like u and im mobile to but i dont want to get in trouble later
Get quickbooks. Get an EIN and sales and use tax for your state. I woukd hire a small business "bookkeeping/payroll business" I use southern payroll out of Chattanooga TN and they are great. They have an accountsnt and file my taxes. Just remember though self employed pay 15% extra in payroll tax IE Medicaid, Medicaire, Fed Taxes State taxes. If you make more than 100,000K a year you should be an S corp and pay yourself in W2s
I go off the Market. And also what makes sense to make a solid profit. Never go to low, companies expect at least 100 per hour for a legit roadside company.
