The Soviet Object 120 is a tank destroyer with a massive 152mm cannon. It fires very high-velocity APFSDS and HEAT but also gets a relatively powerful high explosive round. That's what we're going to be using today. You definitely get some more Gaijin moments, but I think it's more fun.

I do agree that the new mic sounds a bit worse, but it did make audio recording and audio cleanup a lot easier. I felt like I could talk more naturally without worrying about if I was talking into the mic or not. I might be able to clean up some of the plosives and that sort of hum it has to it, but this time I wanted to see how it would do with mininal audio cleanup.
it was kinda aggresive on my ears compared to the og mic but yeah keep working on it
it has a more natural sound to me, not that super hifi sound. Quite pleasing to the ear on a big system :)
It's definitely not bad! It's not nearly as crisp though - it's hard to describe, but the quality is just... sleepier, in a way? I didn't feel as engaged throughout the video. If it's better for you, than absolutely go for it, but I personally noticed it right away. Good content as always :)

In regards to the audio quality, i do think it sounds just a tad bit less crisp than before but if the headset is more comfortable then by all means go for it, it’s not so different
It's got a nice warm quality that I kinda enjoy.
Yeah, it's not a bad mic, but it's lacking something. It sounds a little flat, honestly if he had never used the better mic I'd be completely fine with it, but now I miss the old voice.
Less crisp and more warm I would say, but if it works better for the creator, can't really complain.

Especially when you get the north-west spawn on Pradesh. There's a hill you can climb about 500m outside spawn that lets you overlook EVERYTHING, but does make you pretty exposed at the same time. It's great watching shells take 4-5 seconds to smack your target right in the turret ring.
@@hilltopy and proceed to do no damage despite being one of if not the largest heat rounds in the game. It also doesn't overpressure against bmps for some reason
I get pretty good damage from it most of the time, including against light tanks most of the time, so I guess either I'm lucky with it or you're unlucky. I do carry HE for when I don't wanna chance it or just wanna aim less, would recommend.
You can top attack with it. No joke.

Spookston got a new Mic! The Obj120 gets a bad rep because it's not suited to all maps but when you get a good one, holyyyyy molyyyy!
Hard to go wrong with APFSDS at that BR lol.
Your other mic does a better job at taming harsh p and s sounds but is pretty similar quality otherwise. Thanks for the great content.
I personally think that the old microphone made you sound more energized.

I think the quality is better the mixing is just a little off
the new mic has a soft distortion to it, its noticeable enough but still sounds good. I wouldnt compare it to your other mic as it has a much clearer sound.
To be honest I always watched Spookston for the clarity of the voice (mainly rewathcing his old videos as a background noise/ podcast type of thing) and this change just makes me sad.

What i noticed right away is the change in how the voice sounds compared to previous videos
The difference is the depth of the recorded voice
When this thing came out the sound of those shots flying overhead were something else, dear lord this thing was frightening to face.

Obj 120 was my favorite premium tank for a while. Loved APFS-DS at 7.3, and the HE rounds are a blast to use (pun intended)

Spookston,i recommend you play the SU-100Y. Its one of my favorite premiums and if you want to destroy stuff with 1 hit, this is the tank for you.

7.3 is ridiculous i remember when i would get spawn games from the other side of the map by this thing in my 76 jumbo
And thats why it gets cased so hard. Its an active attempt by the player base to kill the toxin. Its like white blood cells.

I mean, the sound quality isn’t bad, maybe the proximity to his mouth makes it max out or something, either way the older one sounded better to me, I noticed right away that something feels off and then he said he changed his mic so, yeah

I don't have the german one but I do have the sk105-a2 which is the same vehicle in the french tree. Granted, the french lineup above 7.7 suffers more than any other nation I've played

Object 120 is pretty OP for 7.3. My favorite premium so far.
Deserves all the revenge CAS but the more you revenge CAS the lower in BR it goes. The real conundrum of our generation.

@@mote_vengador2832 I think you misunderstand. When I say CAS is the issue I'm cheekily referring to the way Gaijin balances the game. They balance solely on statistical data (unless people keep buying the premium of course) and thus the more higher a priority target the 120 becomes (justifiably), because it's extremely dangerous, it's a very easy target for CAS so why not, and I hate you, which artificially deflates the performance of the vehicle. Thus why it looks bad on paper and Gaijin moves it down. Because they're a bunch of corporate bankers that look at pie charts and don't actually play the game.
I have the Object 120. It is a very good vehicle. But I can't go three minutes into the game without pissing somebody off, taking someone's entire revenge load to my face and the aircraft's fuselage down my throat. Unnecessarily wasteful method of sharing how much you hate someone if you ask me. Therefore, artificially, the vehicle now 'sucks', and is much harder to do well in than it otherwise should.

the new mic is.... different, i dont know for most people but for me who has quite "picky ears" and expensive pair of headphones the new mic sounds very very crusty and muffles, no echo though.

Regarding the mic, there is a bit of a noticeable difference, with the previous setup sounding a bit better. But that's not to say the new setup sounds terrible or anything, I'll still watch either way.

imo on the audio it sounds worse. it makes your voice more washed out and have a slight bit of static. feels like a radio with 90% connection quality

I would say the headset combo does picks up your voice better.
I noticed the new mic immediately. I think it is an improvement. It feels much less high-end heavy and piercing than the old ones. Maybe using an EQ after the fact and drop the bass end down a bit could balance it out quite nicely.
