Object 268 is a Soviet tank destroyer with a massive 152mm cannon. It used to be pretty mediocre, but Gaijin lowered it to a battle rating of 6.7 in realistic. It is now incredibly powerful, to the point where I was able to spawn two nukes back to back with the thing. It's not the most difficult thing to do in War Thunder, but doing it consistently should raise some eyebrows.

I wouldn't say that T-10 is a "glorified IS-3", it was more of a homework on shortcomings of both IS-3 and IS-4 and improvement on both of those designes.
T-10 was mostly "what IS-3 should have been" or "IS-3, but what if it wasn't sh//t even by soviet metrics":))
Unfortunately for the T-10, main battle tanks were starting to have armor comparable to or better than heavy tanks by that time in the Cold War.
Both wrong. T-10 was a low-cost IS-7. Which supposed to be a huge upgrade over IS-3 indeed.

Dude, I loved playing this thing. I half expected it to be rubbish because casemates generally are at this high of a BR... but this is a MASSIVE exception to that rule. It's a Jagdtiger that's faster, has a better reload and arguably better armour. Insane.
And its the same br. Snail “logic”
And it sits at 6.7. Ludicrous.

Fun fact: the 268's shells don't detonate if struck, you need to hit the charges (unlike the US T34). Also a video on one of the ARL-44's would be sweet
But doesn't the t34 use solid shot? It doesn't make sense that it would explode

@@casematecardinal it's the propellant that explodes so solid shot would still detonate. Unless it's solid shot plus charges seprate (2 piece ammo) then if the shot explodes it's physics...I believe the 5th law of snailnamics
might I suggest playing the American T30? It's pretty rare in games and the 155mm and it's low velocity should make for interesting gameplay
I use one quite a bit and it's just a slow reloading T29. But yes low velocity and being in that horrible BR range will make for interesting gameplay
I take mine out pretty often. My American 6.7 lineup is my bread and butter
The hull is actually from a IS-8/T-10

Me too! It has a "logical" explanation, though: the round didn't fuse on the thin armour.
Then again, that's just WT logic... Imagine seeing your pal next to you getting turned into red, disgusting goo by a giant piece of metal, how combat effective would you be afterwards? :P XD
that "slightly bigger .50 cal" has twice the energy of one, 14.5mm is monstrous
When I grinded the Russian tree I skipped this guy along with the Su-122-54 but I've always wanted to come back and try em out. The 14.5 mg is one of my favorite non-primary weapons to use. Could make a decent lineup to grind out the Strela
the SU-122-54 is a higher skill cieling version of the 268. Its not as durable but its much easier to hide it in some bushes.

@@BitchenMarsRockstar 268 APHE can go through Tiger 2 UFP, there is litterally only one tank you wont be able to penetrate through UFP, and that is the Maus... and even that is in a full uptier... and you will overpressure everything... and also 268 can stop 84mm (20pdr) british APDS, or 105mm(303mm pen) i cant remember rn
@@petrkdn8224 The APHE can not go through a tiger 2 UFP, LFP is viable target though as the explosive filler is too much for the transmission to absorb.
@@jellevandervelde704 it CAN go through Tiger 2 UFP. At close range, below 500m without any angle. I did it once , even though OBJ 268 is like top 10 my most played tanks
I had the great displeasure of facing this thing recently... while in my Panther G. This thing is an absolute monster in a full downtier, especially if it even has even a token amount of support to make sure you can't flank it.
Same thing as Jagdtiger, except worse gun but better MG.
Got downtiered and sat myself in a corner, no one could touch me. Still lost, but that's German mains for you.
You can try your luck with commander hatch if you have APHE or the driver optics/hatch if you're lucky, but other than that you're better off running away lol

you should revisit the object 685, theres not many people playing it but i think it looks really good on paper
It really isn't. It has extremely bad gun handling and due to only having 4 gears it's mobility is more like a medium.

The Object 906 is much better than the 685. The 100mm on the 685 is nice and all but the 906 is in a much better place for what it is. That autoloading 85 hits like a truck.

It's like the isu152 at 4.7 in arcade. I dont play realistic very much so I cant say about realistic but in arcade its insane that's for sure. It litterly overpressures things with aphe without even penetrating armor sometimes. I literally bounced a shell off of a tigers side because it was a bad shot and it hit the ground and killed him
It would be fun if you played the Bkan. Really funny autoloader but I wonder how well does it actually perform
Pretty sure I’ve died to a Bkan more often when I’m in a plane than when I’m in a tank. I stay the hell away from those things.

Of all the 6.7s I face with my 5.7 lineups, this is the one vehicle I fear the most.
And it isn't because of the gun. The armor layout really is tough, and it has ridiculous good mobility for a casemate; especially at a stationary pivot that it is really difficult to flank it. The fact that it probably only dies when surrounded, unsupported, and mobility disabled; or to CAS speaks volumes that I do ask the question why it is 6.7.

To answer your MG range question. When you swap between Main gun and secondary/MG/ect it has a conversion ratio from your other guns. A good example is look at this with the MAUS. With either primary or secondary active range it, look at the other gun and see that its not the same range selected.

The title had me wondering if Gajin introduced the 2S7 Pion self-propelled artillery with tactical nuclear rounds.
When I originally spaded this thing, overpressure wasn't in the game yet. The large muzzle brake definitely didn't help me get through spading it as it would often get destroyed before I even got a shot off. It was especially difficult before I had parts researched.

If you want a low tier nuke shell I recommend you the italian P40, it as an aphe shell with 270gramms of tnt filler, it sometimes overpressure even some tough tanksand is overall fun except for it's reverse speed

OBJ 268 is great. It have medium tank mobility, heavy tank armor, SPAA MG and it's all tank-destroyer shaped.

You should try out the Italian P.40. A heavy tank classed as a medium at 3.3 with a 75 that has more explosive mass in its aphe than an is-2
Throwing a curveball for a suggestion here with the strv m/41 s-II. Playing lower tier swedish before the finnish line it was by far the best swedish vehicle for it's BR imo. Curious to see your opinion on it.

Not sure if you done a video on it already but The French lorraine 40t is probably my fav tank in the game, extremely mobile, fast firing 100mm with 4 second reload with 7 round ready rack, thing is a beast at 7.7, like the amx 50 100, Think you would have a lot of fun with it

This is one of the few casemate SPGs I actually like playing. I mostly just use the HE in arcade, as well as the 14.5mm of course
You should do the Churchill Crocodile next. I hope they add more flamethrower tanks in the future, preferably one of the Sherman Crocodiles as at least two different designs appear to exist.
It's kinda useless tho the flamethrower does nothing at all and it's trailer is just a HUGE weak spot which also makes it harder to drive
The tiger has had a funny bug for at least a year already, where sometimes AP shells with explosive filler just don't detonate, and act like really sad solid shot.
Still love this new format, keep 'em coming. I'd like to see one on the Char 25t, one of my favs.

with that PT-76 at like 4:10 or so, i think his armor was too thin to set the shell off so it just passed through and spall-killed the crew it did kill.
Definitely one of my favorite vehicles in game, you can even snipe with its 152 cannon given it has a range finder. I mean, a range finder at 6.7(same goes with su-122-54 also 6.7) it's just ridiculous.

If you have to kill this thing from the front there's a flat weak spot next to the gun mantlet where the gunner's optics are. I think it's still pretty thick but a long 88 can go through there

Me personally I run this vehicle in the 7.0 line up with the IS 3, IS 6, T 44 100 and the SU 122 54. All of them make a fantastic line up.

1:04 Had nasty run-in with an AVRE a few days ago (I don't run into them very often at the BRs I play I guess). SoB just sat behind a hill lobbing hesh rounds at us from where we couldn't see him, felt just like a Stürmtiger. Total PITA.

It we go by my experience every br gets up tiered constantly. I can play 1.0, get up tiered to 2.0, then play 2.0 and get up tiered to 3.0. that pretty much goes all the way to the top. It only started getting that bad a month or two ago though so I don't know what changed
