That piece you took off the bottom of the Habu is a place holder for the optional LAS sensor which is a landing assist sensor. Both of the latest Habus and the carbon cub s+ have this option. Great flying, we need to see a better landing from you Robert. This plane seems to glide for miles on approach. lol

A nice simple plane! I like the sturdy undercarriage and the nose cone. Yellow is always a winner for wing flashes etc. Big salute as ever from London.
The alarm in the transmitter sounds when the battery dips below a certain voltage in any one cell... I have mine set to 3.7 volts) once you relax the throttle, the alarm stops because the voltage bounces back up. You only need to panic when the alarm won't stop sounding. That is when your battery is truly dead :) You don't need to use a checker with these eflite planes as the radio displays the battery voltage on the 'smart' screen (roll the wheel to the right). I rely on that system totally. Haven't used a timer since. :) Great video!

The little hole with the clip if no one else has said, is for the Landing Assist Sensor (optional) which helps new jet pilots land at speed by sensing the aircrafts height above the ground. Great flight, I like the wheel upgrade for the grass, we have the grass runway too - for the landing, if the nose wheel touches first it springs the nose back up, try to land either all 3 wheels at once or rear wheels first ;-)
Hello and welcome to the world of habu! The Habu likes to show his joy by doing frog jumps 😆🤣😂 In fact, you have to land at low speed without gas, the opposite of a normal jet. The Habu hovers very well, maybe even a little too much. I wait for the comparative 4s 6s in full speed in 6s in slight descent to see the rigidity of the stabilizer 😊

Thanks for the explanation of what caused the battery problem in the last Habu video. I look at my individual cell voltages before taking the battery off the charger. Just a habit I got into without even thinking about its benefit as an early pre-flight check item. There is one RC plane RUclipsr, out of England I believe, that always shows his battery voltage at the beginning of his video before takeoff. A "smart" thing to do if you don't have SMART. 😊
What a beautiful jet! When it was sitting on the carpet it remined me of my days working on the flight deck of the USS Kitty Hawk, F-4 ready to be shot off the catapult!
@@MoToA2B THX Jesse, I was an A-6 jet mech on the Kitty Hawk from 73-77. My older brother was an A-6 avionics tech and younger brother an A-6 pilot (Marine).
I was on the flight deck staging aircraft or down in the hanger bay, I wish I would have gone into jet engine mechanics, I love working on my car or my Harley's. I'm envious, I served 74 to 81 4 active.

The Habu SS needs flaps to slow it down for landing. I may cut flaps out of my Habu wing this winter. I have servos, linkage, and CA hinges ready in case I do put flaps on the Habu SS. I moved the battery forward about 10 mm to help landing. I'm still making adjustments on the CG to find the right balance for flying and landing. I also added Dave Brown "Lite Flite Wheels" to help absorb the landing shock.

I also check it all the time. But every time I go flying the wind starts to blow. Really. And I cant wait for some snow. I put skis on anything. Last winter on two jets. It was awesome experience.

I have had the privilege to fly a small Cessna more times than I can remember. Also at 9 years old I went down in Lake Erie with my father and another adult. Tread water for two hours before rescue. One thing I can teach maybe you two. A good RC pilot like yourself has a way better chance to fly a real plane than a real pilots chance of flying a RC plane! I know the science. 11-18-2021 at 1pm est. Interesting afternoon. I had my 1st experience today. From something ive not EVER done. In over 40 YEARS of being into rc. Had my 1st EVER lipo fire. Thats an extremely terrifying thing. NEVER again will i change ANYTHING without SAID battery being in a lipo bag. (Granted, smart packs used with smart chargers, its extremely rare.) I was using a zeee 3s/3000mah (1 week okd! 🤯), In an older venom 4 bank charger. Went out of the garage for 30 FREAKING SECONDS! Luckily, i had an extinguisher. That wasn't bad, mY 25lb service dog was in there too n couldn't get out. (MY apologies for venting, BUT ppl's GOTTA know!)
Scary stuff my friend. Pretty scary. I had one last year on the radio batterie for my Spektrum DX9. Never again I charge batteries in my house. I have them now in my workshop, always arround when I charge and I charge them in the middle of the workshop with nothing arround.
Nice job!! I have a habu sts and i converted it to 6s. I am using the 1850kv 12 blade inrunner set up from eflite 70mm f16. It is very fun and fast. I also added retracts with trailing link suspension and flaps. The flight controller that comes in the habu sts wont allow programming for flaps and retracts so I added an ar 631 to have as3x and safe with flaps and retracts. I was glad to see the new habu ss comes with an ar631 so people will be able to add flaps and retracts. You landed too fast with your habu ss. The habu will fly very slow and you must start your final very far out so you can cone in slow with no bounce. The habu is very bounce prone jet. This being said very nice maiden. I love flying my habu. It is the best flying jet. If I didnt have a habu sts running on 6s I would be buying a habu ss!!!! I have several edf jets and my habu can do all the stunts maybe the best of all jets!!. I wish I could race you !! My habu is very fast with the 1850kv 12 blade inrunner. but the 10 blade with the 2400kv outrunner looks fun. It also sounds nice at full throttle. I'm not sure it sounds better than my 12blade 1850kv but maybe.😎👌 I watched your.first habu ss video were you had a battery at storage.charge. with a half full battery you would have been able to fly for a few minutes. Also the habu jet is very easy to dead stick, so you woulda been fine. Just remmember the habu will fly very slow and usually stalls with a nose dip so easy to recover from.
Don't forget they added an Avian ESC to give to telemetry and reverse thrust mine Flys great I'm using a spectrum 6s 4000mah 50c pack just perfect . That hatch you took off is for the landing assist sensor module

I was on the USS America CV66 we didn't have any F-4 Phantoms buy my fav was the A6 Corsair, we also had Tomcats a big fighter for such a small deck.

I was using a zeee 3s/3000mah (1 week okd! 🤯), In an older venom 4 bank charger. Went out of the garage for 30 FREAKING SECONDS! Luckily, i had an extinguisher. That wasn't bad, mY 25lb service dog was in there too n couldn't get out.

Scary stuff my friend. Pretty scary. I had one last year on the radio batterie for my Spektrum DX9. Never again I charge batteries in my house. I have them now in my workshop, always arround when I charge and I charge them in the middle of the workshop with nothing arround.

Nice job!! I have a habu sts and i converted it to 6s. I am using the 1850kv 12 blade inrunner set up from eflite 70mm f16. It is very fun and fast. I also added retracts with trailing link suspension and flaps. The flight controller that comes in the habu sts wont allow programming for flaps and retracts so I added an ar 631 to have as3x and safe with flaps and retracts. I was glad to see the new habu ss comes with an ar631 so people will be able to add flaps and retracts. You landed too fast with your habu ss. The habu will fly very slow and you must start your final very far out so you can cone in slow with no bounce. The habu is very bounce prone jet. This being said very nice maiden. I love flying my habu. It is the best flying jet. If I didnt have a habu sts running on 6s I would be buying a habu ss!!!! I have several edf jets and my habu can do all the stunts maybe the best of all jets!!.
I wish I could race you !! My habu is very fast with the 1850kv 12 blade inrunner. but the 10 blade with the 2400kv outrunner looks fun. It also sounds nice at full throttle. I'm not sure it sounds better than my 12blade 1850kv but maybe.😎👌
I watched your.first habu ss video were you had a battery at storage.charge. with a half full battery you would have been able to fly for a few minutes. Also the habu jet is very easy to dead stick, so you woulda been fine. Just remmember the habu will fly very slow and usually stalls with a nose dip so easy to recover from.
Pretty interesting Ronan. Cant wait to try it more and to practice some landings.
