Can we have a controller cam so we can learn how to fly... Like a go pro?
I bought it the first day immediately after I got the email announcement and watched Horizon's video. This is exactly the plane I need to elevate my edf skills. I cant wait til it ships. You didnt show it, but it takes off and lands on grass really well too.
Yeah we have seen those Horizon videos and it does really well on grass! Also hand launches pretty well and belly lands! I've got a massive favor to ask of you! When you order a new RC, consider clicking one of our links to bring you to Horizons website even if we don't have a video on it yet. We will make a small, it worth it, kickback. Helps keep our channel going and we are very grateful! Happy Flying! 👍😁😎⚓
I have Habu STS and I got comfortable with it.
Just ordered a new 6S ESC and Habu SS motor to upgrade it :)
SWEET flight Nate!! Thanks Saylors!! 💟👍😘
Remember the Balsa Habu? Now thats a killer plane!
I learned to fly on the Habu Rtf! Great touch and go!
FYI the HABU is a venomous snake endemic to to islands around Okinawa (and the Amami islands just south of where I live) Japan. Colouring is light olive or brown with yellow lines.
We have mamushi (a variety of pit Viper) where I live. I've seen quite a few sunning on roads and concrete. walking paths... and loads dead from being run over while sunning.
NICE FLIGHT!
Thanks for stopping by! 👍😁😎⚓
Descending terrain saved the day! Good recovery.
Great trimming advice and flying. Got to save up now. Great AMA advice here in uk we he BMFA for same reason
You guys are fun to watch. Abby does a great job on camera; Nate loves almost everything he flies. (that's a compliment)! If you could, Have Abby give use a shot of your radio to see you control inputs when doing your climbing SNAPS. It would great to see what you are doing with the sticks from time to time....Just a suggestion.... KEEP UN COMING!
11:12 yup - thats a code brown.
banked into knifeedge, didnt give rudder input to simulate up elevator.
Awesome 🤩
👍😁😎⚓
Use your reverse thrust to slow down your landings
We haven't programmed reverse thrust in this yet. Just enjoyed getting it in the air! Will definitely add reverse thrust in the future 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors one of the best things ever lol to stop on a dime appreciate all your content 👌 and responding to comments
i did it on mine cause it comes in hot and it helps
I didn't know you were a cook as well Nate 😂 😜 ⚓⛵✈️🚀
PS we don't have AMA here in the UK 🇬🇧 we have something similar
Hey Nate what is the extra one wire connector spliting off from the esc wires to the reciever for ????
Hey guys, I really like your videos and have giving you at times some tough criticism. Sorry.... Is it possible, you could share your settings on your transmitter? Just bought this plane as a trainer and had my first maiden this past weekend. I believe it still needs some tweaking. Its binded to an NX8. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for your videos!!!!
Give Abby her plane back before you turn it into styro-dust. Good saves. Enjoy watching you guys.
Great inverted
Abby could fly this just as easily on 6s as she can on 4S. The only thing different is you don't have to use as much throttle And the plane itself would probably be slightly heavier due to the battery size.
Full confidence in Abby flying This without a problem.
Nice nate
Thanks Nick! 👍😁😎⚓
Nice....👌
How long do you let your jets rest in between flights? To let the motor cool down.
Usually let them rest for about fifteen minutes or more if I am patient enough between flights :-)
5:43 lol same
Coming from my wholesome EF T-28 1.2m w/70A ESC, I love this EF Habu 70mm. It's my 1st EDF after many flights with my Commander 1.4m mPd and my T-28. The Habu "sport trainer" is my steppingstone to the big guy - Viper 90mm! 🙁 The Habu 70mm is like a my poor man's 90, but for some reason it's more appealing to me than the Viper 70mm.
I think it flew great & looks good Habu-t you❓🤔😄😏. Abby if it's yours U should have Maidend it. You really should have first crash on your plane 😁😁. Not that either of you would crash cause you'all be to good, though admittedly Nate you did loose depth perception against that hill. I was equally impressed by All that fall country color, with that English looking cottage🏡 with the fall color forest in the background. That sky with all those clouds. Wow We Wow. Now that as they say is God's Country. Great flying Nate, Abby your on deck. ⚓⚓👍💚💛💜👍🏡👍⚓⚓.
GOOD PRICE $$$
We think so too! For the first time in a while, this does seem reasonably priced right out of the gate. 👍😁😎⚓
This is so tempting👍 and Christmas is right around the corner😂🙏
It sure would look good under your tree!! 👍😁😎⚓ 🎄 🎁 🎅 ⛄ ☃️ ❄ ✝️
Some of us are pilots and student pilots and I can imagine someone who flys a jet and wants to learn rc doesn’t want to go back to their flight school days flying a trainer. Lol. Great option.
That should be back in kit form. I can't believe you saved that and kept flying and talking! Very impressive. I'd be bringing that bad boy back in asap! Lol
Yup butter smooth landing. Great fun 👍🏻
Thanks for tuning in! 👍😁😎⚓
You were less than a foot away from destruction buddy
It was So Close! 😬⚓
you keep recomending these planes to buy but we arnt made of money we all dont have 700 do;;ars to get a lump of polystyrene transmitter charger and battery.its not beginner friendly, give me a rtf jet setup for 200 dollars what isnt a micro plane, your allways recomending planes that need spektrum transmitter etc thats shits exspensive for the full set up for a descent plane,do reviews what isnt spektrum rip of plxs
Hey Mark! We do budget videos on our channel all the time! Turns out, there just aren't very many good RTF set ups under $200 these days. The economy has taken a nasty hit and we are all struggling to find the new "budget" planes. Do you currently own any planes? If so, what are your favorite ones you fly, or one?
@@TheRcSaylors you got me into rc planes when i seen your review on eachine p51 mustang i went and brought it and love it,but like most people what just start out we want budget friendly jets i brought the eachine f22 also i love it but the nose broke of on my second flight i was gutted and carnt afford to replace it.i really want a rtf jet i can afford what isnt micro, btw i love you guys
The F22 can easily be fixed with some foam safe glue or hot glue 👍😎⚓
I give a 👍. Before I watched the video.
And I liked your comment before you watched the full video too! 👍😁😎⚓
Great video and really cool Habu! FYI: Mention to ONLY trim with SAFE off, in as windless condition as possible and make small level flight corrections via trim for best results. I try to always then mechanically retrim the plane after flying it so I can reset all the trims back to 0 on the radio.
It doesn’t come any closer then that! Wow You said the Thunderbird and Blue Angel is harder to fly than this Habu. Is that because they have flaps and the Habu doesn’t? Can I use the same Spektrum Safe electronics I have in my RTF Habu in the Blue Angel or Thunderbird? Isn’t the RTF 4S Habu rated at 100mph? If so, how fast is this new 6S Habu?
Tell me how much I need the AMA one more time and I’m unsubscribing.
You NEED AMA!! Don't threaten us with a good time!!
The shadow of death 🔥💀🔥 😁
Yeah when you see the shadow of your plane not meaning to the death of your plane was very near lol
Nice save Nate and nice landings I think the first landing was the runways fault it hoped but you greased it and the second one for sure 🔥👍✌️
Like the previous version, would this also be good for a beginner or would the previous model be better?
Previous model would be MUCH better for a beginner. I HIGHLY recommend the Habu 4S RTF. Have you seen any of our videos on it?
@@TheRcSaylors I did just recently watch it and after clicking the provided link to Horizon Hobby, saw this new version.
Thanks so much for the reply and the great content! Been following you guys for a few years now!
That’s a cool Jet. Close call, you had me sweeting for a second. 😱 Nice recovery and landing. Abby that’s a keeper for sure. ✨✅✨Your both Awesome!
Late squad tonight happy flying all 😎😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
That was as close as it gets to not having a crash. I think it was inches, not feet. Most people would have lost that. You stayed with it and saved it! Great piloting Nate! Like real pilots, you need to practice hitting that safe switch as soon as you say, OH No! It doesn't come naturally, you need to practice it over and over with all your planes that have Safe. As soon as you feel out of control, you need to instinctively hit the Safe switch. Don't try and save it unless you're really high. Safe can react much quicker than you can. I lost the a brand new F15 Eagle by not hitting the Safe switch. So what else has Abby band you from? lol
Should put a cam on one of your planes! I think it would be awesome to see the knife edges and barrel rolls...well all the stunts you do.
Which one should i pick up, first time flying, never flown before, should pick up the RTF Habu or the SS Habu?
Can you guys do a review about the huina 1593 rc 22 channel RC excavator Because I think you guys doing awesome job doing videos
It needs a Saylors sticker it has earned it.⚓️
You are absolutely right! 👍😁😎⚓
You need a full fpv EDF jet with head tracker etc all functioning. Run DJI air unit and Radio.....I'm wanting go build one with those specs
sweet upgrades
Oh yeah!! 👍😁😎⚓
Looks like the wheels touched for half a second looking at it in slow mo, fun flight!
nice fly n on way to not hit ground thought it goner for some reason heart pumped hard watch ing you fly nice save that fin to watch thank you for you show
Close call Nate. Great flight nicer save lol good job 👍
Ahhh 😱 swear you swept the grass on the belly😅
I think the best beginner plane is the carbon cub it’s like $300 and it comes with everything. I don’t know if it comes with battery though.I’m thinking about getting one. Because my dad used to fly the old balsa wood planes
We believe there is an even better beginner plane for a little less money. If interested, I will send you a link! 👍😁😎⚓
Yes I would like a link
Don't know if it's needed, but I think reverse thrust can be setup on this magnificent Abby jet.
Yeah we will definitely have to do that! 👍😎⚓
Can't wait to get mine. Most definitely flies like a dream & a great save. Excellent flight Nate & excellent camerawork Abby!! 😊⚓
You are absolutely going to LOVE yours Alan! By the way, that save was NOT with SAFE! I can say I'm proud of that one, whew!
@@TheRcSaylors Yea & I'm excited to try it out too. Most definitely. Both you & Abby are awesome pilots!!
no retracts, I am out
I want this!!!
I kinda want one just for a park flier jet.
It's very easy going, but also can wake right up and is insanely fun! 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors looks like a good all-around jet
its not a park flyer if you want park flyers i recomend eachine micro planes
@@markhighton5463 lol oh it will fly in a park 😁
Wow your camera has the colors popping!!
All raw! Nothing in post 😁
As you went over the welcome, that was nice!
Thanks! 😁⚓
Hi, I wonder, if the SS version is really that much faster and powerful than the STS version, considering the 2400 Kv motor in SS vs 3200 Kv in STS, plus lower weight (4S battery vs 6S battery). Please, what is your experience / recommendation? Thanks.
This plane should have been a Viper with a thicker wing. DO NOT buy a Viper as your first jet. It lands way too fast, is not very stable, must be flown with a gyro, hard to see, and is fragile. Because Horizon touted the Viper as a good first SPORT jet lead people to think it makes a good first jet. Not so, at least in my opinion.
Now the the Habu STS is a different story. For beginners, it’s perfect. A great confidence builder because it’s stable, difficult to stall, great glide slope, lands great with zero power, and is rugged. I recommend using a four cell for a little more speed. I’m sure the SS flys just as well. Flaps not needed but retracts would have been nice. Just my two cents.
Hi Abby, the video image clarity in this segment is amazing. Can you please tell us what type of camera you are using? Love the channel
what is flight time and battery type and size. how much weight can it carry? i would like to put a forward camera that broadcast to goggles. have altimeter etc..
Watched a lot of videos and you were the first one to say how to adjust the trim! Do you do it in expert mode, and what do you look for and what do you do?
Do they, Horizon, have the true Habu? In the USAF the SR-71 is called Habu too.
I think the habu’s don’t have flaps cause they’d be too hard to balance
my first flight, nose gear fell off on take off on asphalt runway geez
Which would you rather have this habu or the arrows marlin and why? And can the habu be hand launched?
Nice save!!👍🏼
Thanks! 👍😁😎⚓
Sounds good.. Looks good.. Can't go wrong... :D
Nate help me
How can I help?
I had the original versions years ago and now 6s is available. Why didn't you program the thrust reverse to slow down on landing? Great video guys
Thrust reverse seems like fun, but a small fraction of fun compared to just getting out and flying. I've never been one to prioritize programming or building over flying to be honest 👍😁😎⚓
Awesome jet. Nice save. It moves that’s for sure.
:-)
:-)
Looks good but sounds bad Too much squealing
I also like how it sounds
Habu SS or Arrows Marlin?
Man, I really wish I could afford something like this. My medical crap keeps taking away all my extra funds so I've had to keep building mine from foamboard. Can't find any good foamboard jet designs that I can do. But it's nice to at least get to watch people enjoy the hobby either way. Y'all are great
We may have something perfect for you coming to the channel very soon! 👍😁😎⚓
Rick Ross
Retracts don’t like grass fields. How well does this jet handle a grass strip?
Extremely well from what we have seen so far. There are even optional larger wheel available just for grass fields! It also hand launches well and belly lands 👍😁😎⚓
No Flaps???
Nice edf
Oh yeah! 👍😁😎⚓
😉
Could you take the from nose gear off for grass belly landings?
Yes
Can you fly this with the Habu ready to fly radio?
If it is a DXS, then that is what I use.
you guys should fly engine 😁
Yeah we love gas planes! Only downside is, if we did we wouldn't have a RUclips channel! Too much downtime sadly.
Hi
I want it
It's only $400 with a battery, charger, and everything needed to fly it
No retracts 😕
Right. If it had retracts it would be the Viper. These landing gear are more durable, designed to be someone's first 6S EDF 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors yeah its built for beginners, but i think it doesnt make that much sense. Someone whos too unexpierienced to properly land a jet shouldn't be flying such a fast 6s jet. Kinda like giving someone who just got their drivers licence a f1 car in my opinion. But thats just my opinion anyways.
You are on two different planets my friend. This is a foam toy, that is NOT designed to be a first plane, but a first 6S EDF. You telling me you've NEVER had a rough landing and wished you had more durable landing gear? 🤔
@@TheRcSaylors i trained ALOT in a simulator before flying my first plane so im pretty good at landing. I never touched down too hard on a model, the one thing that can happen though is the aircraft leaning to one side uppon landing due to breezes. But nothing that could really harm the retracts.
Hi Nate, what type of sun glasses do you wear.
