I have this model, and I enjoyed your comments and the demo flight. I'm commenting because in my experience, flying this model on 4 cells is so anemic - it is kinda scary. Of course, we live at 7100 ft MSL, so I can't fault the performance on 4 cell. As a retired military Master Aviator, I have a pretty good understanding of aerodynamics, so I get it. Anyway, it was interesting that you kinda called it at 3 minutes on a 4000, 6 cell. I honestly can't get mine to run out of juice before I just want to land! Easily 6 + minutes of good useful throttle time. So true about the "floaty" thing...I have to cut the power in the adjacent county to get the thing to STOP FLYING. Fun video - keep em coming , they are a great distraction from this insane world. CW4 Dale Z. US Army retired
Fantastic 1st Jet that you can enjoy when you're experienced too. Would be perfect for the gusty and higher winds days, great flying Pilot Ryan and Bobby K Master Zoomer, Jeff in LA USA
Very happy for this update. This is what I was hoping the STS would be capable of. Now I can just swap out the ESC and EDF and call it a day! And I'll still have the original controller for 4S training.
Ordered one of these yesterday off your link! Was on the fence with the viper! Think I need the tougher landing gear but will miss the flaps! I’ll get the big Viper for my next EDF! Thanks for the information.
@@RCPlaneAddict For sure. I love that Horizon is trying to bring the fun of edf flying to less experienced pilots. They’re literally finding ways to cut corners.
YA, LIGHT 6S! WHOOOOOO-HOOOOO !!!! Big wing, that SAFE approach shows a proper approach profile to keep speed down, power to flatten or to climb, rocking the wings a little will sink lower in approach, dropping a little airspeed, or mild "S" turns if way out.. a good foreward slip is good to learn for flapless planes
I had the original Habu like 10+ years ago. Coming back to the hobby and considering this one but having a hard time justifying this one vs the 70mm Viper. Better looking, retracts, flaps and not that much more expensive. What considerations am I missing here to make me get the Habu?
Love the colors on this one! Question for you guys... the grass at my local flying field sucks on landing gear so what do you all think is the best overall belly Lander that's also the fastest one I can get my hands on... I like speed and need a belly Lander.. Thanks !
@@PilotRyanMedia our patchy runway is for gas sized plane so with the smaller EDF it's really hard on the gear, I will look into that 70mm Viper jet. You think this one I can hand launch, and you say it's fast? Thanks
At the beginning of the video you said you were going to try a 4000mAh 6S as well, but you cut the video off after the 3200mAh 6S flight. Thoughts on the 3200 vs 4000 mAh 6S in terms of CG and performance, in terms of the extra weight? Extra flight time is a given,.
I need this on 6s I believe to master it, perhaps keep me from wrecking my more expensive jets my skills are not as up to speed on jets as it is on war birds.
Heey i got a question, i bought my first 6s 5000 mah 30c battery for my first jet “viper 70mm jet” is that 1 okay because i see much ppl use 6s 3200 batteries for the viper.
We needed an upgrade foreal . but I have the rtf STS version . I wonder if I can stick an 5s ! But I see that they change the kv to 2400kv so if I change the kv for the STS would everything on the DXs transmitter work the same ?
Depends on your prior experience. If your getting along good on your other planes you might be good with the viper. If your worries about it then the habu is probably best. It’s all about being used to the speed of things, so prior experience makes all the difference
HI RYAN SIR. GREAT FLIGHT REVIEW OF A PERFECT FIRST EDF JET. AMAZING BEING ABLE TO PUT A 6S IN IT AND BLAST IT. IT FLYS GREAT FAST AND SLOW. THANKS FOR FILMING BOBBYK PERFECT AS ALWAYS SIR. THANKS FOR POSTING RYAN. HOPE YOU BOTH HAVE A GREAT WEEK. C U SATURDAY LIVE SIR🇬🇧🇺🇸🕊️✌️🕊️
Very cool video, great flying, doesn't seem much faster then the STS on 4S power. I'm kind of partial to my Marlin EDF from Arrows RC and available through Hobby Zone, much more affordable and comes with flaps...........
Ok, NOW I can get a Habu. I was a little turned off by the STS version because of the price. I didn’t need a transmitter, battery, or charger. I already have those. I also didn’t want to get the PNP version just because I like AS3X. With this, I can get AS3X out of the box. Oh, and yellow is my favorite color!
Unpopular opinion: Having safe and as3x on any jet is a terrible idea. Yes it saves airplanes, but more and more pilots are coming to depend on these systems as a crutch and can’t fly without them. I’m of the belief that safe and as3x should be reserved for trainers and once you get to your second plane you shouldn’t be using it. (I’m a bit old school, I started flying before lipo batteries were introduced to the hobby)
It depends how you use it. As3x (or any gyro) is great in more windy conditions - I use it in all my planes. Instead of fighting the wind I can focus on the acrobatics. SAFE (or any autolevel) is good when you loose orientation, fly into the sun or enter a spin - just flip it on and it might save you the plane. Turn off after recovery.
@@adamtrzaskowski3901 Fair point, the opinion comes from the idea that for jets in general (edf or turbine), you should be an intermediate to advanced pilot and should have the skills to handle all of those things without any electronic aid. The main reason being that jets are very different from conventional aircraft, they require different approach to flying skills, and if you don’t know what you’re doing they can easily get away from you and become a ballistic missile.
You kno what would be really cool .. is showing everyone where your placing these batteries to get a proper CG. It's almost like every single rc pilot doesn't bother to show it.. It would help if they actually showed where and not try to hide it.. And another thing that would be cool is using different lipos.. spektrums good but expensive. If one out of the 100 rc pilots would do some flying with heavier batteries..

Great flying, filming and commentary. A very helpful demonstration. Thank you.
Fun watching you work it out. Nice job guys ✌😎👍
Having owned the original Habu 32 and 32x, its great to see it come back with some authority!!!
Nice! Glad to see it upgraded and available with 4 and 6s! Great walk through and flying! Sounds great in tge air to!
Awesome job on a less than perfect day guys. Thanks for sharing!
Very exciting! That 6s sounds great!!
Your vids are the best on new releases.

He never flew the 4000.

Excellent work guys. Even though it's not lime green, I think rolling loops are still the ticket.
At 2:55 you almost had a gift of the day from the RC lords. 🙂 Nice flying and beautiful very sexy plane.
Ryan you killed it! Nicely done. Thanks for sharing brother as always.
Great flight, good to this out in 6S but still beginner friendly. Great landing 👍🏻

Thank you! Habu is a good jet to learn on. And, it’s tough. Thanks for coming by
4s and 6s is crazy dude 😳
Slick jet. I hope Horizon comes out one day with a 90mm Habu with trailing link retracts.
Agreed, but you have to admire the simplicity. A bold move on Horizons part for sure.

Too bad there is no provision for optional electric retracts like the Habu 2.
I was thinking the same, that wing is massive!
I like it!!
I played around with this idea on RealFlight with the Habu. I programmed flaperons in and it was hard to control. Lol
Like the paint scheme better for sure
Might have to buy one
Links in the discro or come into the store
How about vertical climbing abilities? Is thrust higher than weight?
Nice.

Please wake me up when they come out with 150mph plus 90mm version. Habu 32 and 32X seems to be limit ...time to push the envelope again Horizon !
Could you get a 5000 6S pack in it ?
probably be a tight fit, more than that is the fact that its just too heavy with that big of a pack

If you got the skills look at the Eflite viper 70. I’d take off with gear or hand launch it and then belly it in

hi guys - you think i can BIND it with the Habu STS set up as a beginner ? will it will fly the same >?
Nice having an easy edf that doesn't look identical to a viper. Bet its that bit sharper with the gear off
6s what discharge rating? 30 or 50c ?
Either rating is fine. You’ll get a bit more zip with the higher rating though
Would you say this is a 'softer' flyer than the Viper 70? looks like another great aircraft from HH Eflite.
yessir

Do you think the habu sts can handle 6s (upgraded esc and fan)? I want this but I already got a sts
Yes if you change the power system. Otherwise no
@@PilotRyanMedia thanks!
Habu SS is exactly STS with upgraded esc and fan ;)
@@adamtrzaskowski3901 I believe the esc is the same also... just the fan motor is different.
You should host a show with Ali from Horizon and teach us how to build a turbine jet, from foam to full size Skymaster...
I don't think you mentioned that this jet has reverse thrust capabilities.....
I can hit the back button in flight and my alarm will go off. If my cells are not below my max low battery settings .
Great job Ryan but I don't really see anyone flying it on 4S look a little unstable in that wind on 4s 👍🤟
