Totally agree. When I'm asked what genre of music MUSE is, my answer is always "yes". I love most of what they do and have listened to only them for years.

Modern day Queen. Muse is truly spectacular..After listening to their new music it just constantly reminds why this is the best music and best band I have ever listened to.
Actually Muse has many more good songs than Queen.
Queen, like many other of those considered historic bands or artists, are a phenomenon whose fame keeps growing like a snowball without any real reason. Just the masses turning musicians into gods. I like Queen, but they don't have more than ten really good songs. They are not gods.
Some people will get mad at what I said, because now Muse is just a rock band and Queen are gods in their eyes. Even funnier is that most of the people that consider Queen gods only like their five of six classics.

Just Queen 1 + Queen 2 + Sheer Heart Attack, not even counting A Night at the Opera has like 7 or 8 masterpieces like March of the Black Queen, Liar, Father and Son or Now I'm Here among others If we go beyond just the three first albums then you need your hands, feet and a couple of friends to count the masterpieces or at least great themes. If you're an ignorant who only listens to the mainstream single hits at least have the decency to shut up and not embarrase you like that.

I disagree that Queen is overrated. Although tastes are subjective and I do not intend to convince anyone.
But I sincerely believe that Queen has objectively way more than 10 great songs...
I say this as a fan who knows their complete discography with around 150 songs. Maybe you also have listened its complete descography. In that case I don't have anything to say and then we just have different tastes.

Im a huge band of both MUSE and Queen.
I also see resemblances between both bands: both give great importance to the grandiosity and spectacularity of concerts, stage design, visuals.
Both have a great sense of show (Queen pioneered that and also the music video). Both have multi-talented members. Matt multi-instrumentalist, guitar, piano player and singer.
The wide range of styles throughout their albums, refusing to pigeonhole. (Queen played rock, hard rock, heavy metal, pop rock, glam rock, funky, synths, symphonic...).

Black Holes: Still golden age but I like absolution a little more
Resistance: Diamonds in some spots, coal in others
2nd Law: Slight Fallback but not much (i love survival, easy top 5 muse song for me)
Drones: Return to Glory, (might get flamed for this, i just love drones lol)
ST: Bit of a stutter (not my cup of tea, but i see why people like it, its the only electronic album i like that isnt Kid A so thats a pretty good achievement lol)
WOTP: Fantastic Return to Form, blending stuff from old and new
Muse are one of the only bands who make rock music fun these days. This is completely mad in a good way

Lines like "You'll send the army to trample on our prayers" and "Silenced, you'll make us feel silenced" really hit home where I come from. Our government is violently stamping out peaceful people's movements against their corruption. And not just this song, but also "Will of the People" and "Compliance" all great stuff. Thank you Muse for voicing our frustrations in this struggle and our hope for change. Love from Sri Lanka!!

This song feels very Queen. I love it! This is another album I'm gonna have to buy as well. I've been listening to Muse for 19 years. One of my favorite bands of all time. Never seen them live yet though.
I saw them the 1st night they played in ‘new’ Wembley in 2007….best live performance I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen old & new Genesis line up, Rush, Plant & Page, Steve Hackett (about 20x), Marillian with Fish singing…….plus loads of others. But (unless I’d managed to get tickets for the 2007 LED Zep Celebration Day concert, or been a bit older to see them in 1970’s) I doubt I’d find a band that is as good live….and I’m a huge Queen fan & think were are phenomenal live.

La composition au piano est génial.
La maîtrise classique de Matt lui permet de créer des mélodies selon son humeur. Tantôt triste, tantôt pleine d'espoir. Tout en mélangeant un style classique, rock, eletro avec bien sûr une dominante rock.
Matt est le plus grand génie musical des 20 dernières années
J'ai laissé du temps à cette chanson depuis la sortie de l'album mais même maintenant, je n'y arrive pas. J'adore cet album mais Liberation gâche un peu tout pour moi. C'est plus une chanson de Queen que de Muse dans le sens où ce n'est pas juste inspiré par Queen mais quasiment une chanson que Queen aurait pu sortir si le groupe existait encore.
Muse est passé par de nombreuses influences au fil des ans avec plus ou moins de réussite et je dois avouer que j'ai toujours eu du mal quand l'influence Queen se faisait sentir car presque à chaque fois elle prenait le pas sur le son "Muse". C'est pour ça que j'ai un peu de mal avec les albums The Resistance et The 2nd Law malgré 2 ou 3 pépites.
En gros, j'aime l'influence, pas la prédominance.
