My grandpa passed away from covid two years ago. The last times with him were incredibly Happy, but for a reason or another we couldnt see each other that much, together with my grandma and uncle. He was a little man, joyful and quiet, loved by everyone in the neighborhood for his spontaneity and kindness. He had a garden where he had plants, all kinds of greens, fruit. It wasn't that big but he lived for that. I had promised myself to go help him and spend a lot of time with him the next spring. I still can't bring myself to accept that spring never came for him, I'm still in a way waiting to help him out with his garden, almost as if time froze. Unsolved feelings that haunt me indeed. Rest in peace, Nonno Raniero, one day, you'll be telling me how did the harvest go, we'll be together working on it. And I will be telling you how much I really loved and cared about you.

Ghosts (How Can I Move On) Lyrics
    [Verse 1]
    Now and then
My mind drifts to a place where I find you
    Lost in my head
There are unsolved feelings that haunt me
    It's too late to heal
    I'll lay them to rest
    [Chorus 1]
    How can I move on
When everyone I see still talks about you
    How can I move on
When all the best things I have we made together
    Here's to letting go
But I am lost in a void with your ghost and our memories
    Lest we forget
    The great reset
    [Verse 2]
If I could bring you back
There are truths and confessions I'd tell you
    I'd set things straight
And I believe that you would love and forgive me
    I know it's too late
    I need to let go
    [Chorus 2]
    How can I move on
When everyone I see still talks about you
    How can I move on
When all the best things I have we built together
    Here's to letting go
But I am trapped in a void with your ghost and our memories
    Lest we forget
    The great reset
    [Bridge]
How can I sleep with this coldness beside me
How can I sleep with this coldness inside me
I know I can't bring back your love
    [Chorus]
    How can I move on
When everyone I see still talks about you
    How can I move on
When all the best things I have were made together
    Here's to letting go
But I am lost in a void with your ghost and our memories
    Lest we forget
    The great reset

This song resonates deeply with me. Sometimes it really does feel like you've lost a piece of yourself. Sometimes it really does feel like you're haunted, late at night, by the what ifs, what could have beens. And sometimes, you really do ask yourself, "how can I move on?"
The truth is, you can't. Whether they've died, or they've just left you, they will always be with you, forever, even when you want so desperately to forget about them. All you can do is respect the place they held in your life, and continue to live it.
I miss you, Lydia. I hope you come back to me one day, and we can build something better together.

    • @reeba4824
      @reeba4824 Год назад

@@serenazanchetti7487 from what I researched, it seems like "the great reset" was a term coined by a politician(or someone of high importance, i forgot) from Wales. During the pandemic, he said that our society as a whole can have a "great reset" economically for the better. That this pandemic can be a lesson for betterment when it comes to sustainable resources and other positive changes.
Ppl, either out of fear or out of malice, or both, took "The Great Reset" and turned it into a conspiracy theory about "all of societies politicians creating the pandemic to control the people. They killed off a ton of us as a great reset. So evil!" Due to all the talk of the conspiracy tale, it completely destroyed the original idea and now more ppl know about the conspiracy rather than what was hoping to be a positive phrase to use for change. Tbh, I thought the song was ALSO about the conspiracy theory and was surprised to learn it was originally something else. (Tho the creator of the term agrees that maybe it wasn't worded the best lol)
So yeah, the song feels like it can very much be about the erasure of that phrase, rather than being about a person who has passed away or something.
I could be reading too deep into it? Haha but that seems plausible to me. :)

It's a song about globalist billionaires missing the pandemic l*ckd*wns and lamenting that people no longer trust them. If it sounds "over the top" and "cliched" that's probably intentional. It's cheeky track, but Muse always does an excellent job with irony. Every song on the album is about the last ~2 years.

This song touches me deeply and moves a feeling that I have long tried to bury: now I struggle between the desire to hear it on repeat and the terror of hearing it again because it embodies exactly that cold that does not want to leave my soul and with which I have been punching for months. I missed this voice and this piano immensely: there is something that awakens and vibrates within me from the very first notes and I feel a bit lost and a bit at home again. And it's butterflies and hurricanes inside me again!

My heart is ok, I don't have a boyfriend, I have good relationship with everyone that are important to me and yet I feel like I have lost someone dear to me 😭
Beside the lyrics, it's the piano that gives all these emotion.
Probably one of my favorite song from this album and from Muse in general.
I was washing the dishes when I heard this song the first time. I had to sit down and replay it again while reading the lyrics just to be sure of each word (English is not my native language)
    So beautiful 💕

My brother introduced me to Muse at a very young age, twelve years ago, and I fell in love with them since then. Unfortunately, my brother passed away two years ago and I'm pretty sure he would have loved this album from start to finish.
The first time I listened to this song I couldn't help but cry 'cause it reminded me of him. Thank you so much Muse, your music has always been a big part of my life. 💖

A friend lost his wife to covid just shortly before their 50th anniversary. Hospital was on lockdown and overwhelmed with patients. He had to tell his wife goodbye and he loved her by phone. She died alone and he couldnt be by her side holding her. Often he just sits and says,’’ i miss her, i miss her, i miss her’’. The great reset is perfectly portrayed in this heartbreaking song. Makes me cry every time i hear it. Matt said he couldnt sing it on tour because his heart couldnt stand it.
