Even if I sold something for twice the price I paid, I only hit maybe 20-30% margin if I'm lucky. Gotta watch those input costs and overhead

Ebay will refund shipping cost if there is a disparity between the shipping sticker on the box and the price you paid. I had a refund from ebay of 90$ or so because some retailer charged me like 140$ for shipping and the price on the box for shipping was like 50$. Retailers can make a point for 5-10$ extra for handling and packaging, but anything more than that over shipping sticker could be refunded.

Those who defend multi-million/billion dollar business fees is what I don't understand. Most local/brick and mortar stores are happy with 5-10% margins and they have to deal with the products, theft, etc. TCGplayer simply pays the server cost, puts all the risk/fees/taxes on the seller, and charges what 12-15% now? No better example of rich getting richer and screwing the little guy. Unless it's a product you're making at least a 25-40%+ return from the time you bought it you're better off selling directly or not at all. And that 25% margin turns into like a 5-10% after shipping fees + seller's fees + 2-5% getting scammed + 1099 and thus will not be worth the time/effort. I realized this and quit eBay/TCGplayer back in 2020 and never looked back. There IS a reason for all those complaints.

My unserstanding of the state of magic is the problem is that tcg prices arent decided by the company. Wizards rips off distriburors as much ss they can which is decided by those disteibutors who who rip off their customers as much as they can and getting every player to not support high prices is impossible and wouldnt work anyway becasue wizards will not charge less for boxes because it would make their profits lower and be a bad look but if they just powercreep the hell out of every set, and release one every 2 months then people can't keep up. Were stuck and boxes will raise in price, release frequency wont go down, singles wont go to the moon unless they reprint major hits and make it impossoble ro get like mana crypt and have the set have a power level just barely abive par which will consistently get worse becsuse inflation and economics problems are getting worse in america and people husr cant afford as much year after year. What im really saying is play draft to support lgs and have a fair experience and maybe commander. Screw wizards
