In February of this year I was lucky enough to pick up an almost new looking RX 5500XT for $95 from ebay with a Ryzen 5 2600 for $50. Actually a nice build for a desktop for my wife.
W you W wife
I fullheartedly hope you guys enjoy the experience the setup :D
W
I picked up a the same cpu for $35 with an A320 mono and 16GB of ram
Damn good grab bro I got a 2600 and 5600xt for just under 175
I got a refurbished Lenovo workstation with a six core Xeon, and then slapped a rx 5700 in it from Ali express. Grand total was around $300. Plays every game I have at 1440p medium to high settings
do u have the link? 😂👀
Just wanted to say thanks for getting me back into PC gaming. I watched one of your vids about 1 month ago where you reviewed an Amazon prebuild and I made the jump.
I stopped PC gaming in 2011 after my custom PC died on me. I went console exclusive for more than a decade until your video showed up as recommended. Didn't know PC gaming was so affordable till I watched your videos.
Thanks guys.
I was pretty much in the same boat before I heard of these guys. Always thought I'd have to spend at least $1000 on a PC that's good enough to game lol
Now you can build a PC that will play 2012 games. Oh, the joy and wonder!
Also, we're using 2015 parts :))))
@Logojan Gruia if you go for their cheapest builds, yeah lol. The point of this video was to show that you could still get a functional PC and a decent experience for cheap
Thank you!!!, lost everything in a fire a bit ago, been on a older i5 ibm thinkpad, slowly building back, next few months is pc time. Went to newegg, been a hot minute since I built a pc..
this is great. gonna upgrade a bit, but as long as i can play roms, 4k, cs, gta5, elder, etc win win
Great Video!
Really enjoy your videos. Always great to learn budget computer components to build computers under a certain budget.
The original Ryzen 1600 can really only support speeds up to 2933, though that Viper kit should've posted at 2133, but the memory comtoller on OG Ryzen is not great and some kits aren't compatible. I wouldn't be surprised if a BIOs update got the RAM working.
You always have great videos
love your vids dudes
If you live near a Microcenter you can get a bundle of the B450M DS3H and a Ryzen 3600 for (most recently) $99. The 3600 scores a higher single core score in Cinebench r23 than my stock 8700k. It's an insane deal if you live near a MC, and puts you in the same price range as this ebay combo.
in-store only deal ?
@@mick1w37 most of their deals are in-store.

I ordered my pc yesterday I’m so excited
There are some decent Montech cases that come with fans that are around that same price point.
this is a great vid! now I'm wonderin' how that system would run if you put an eBay $60 Ryzen 3600 in there.
I still have my old budget build using an overclocked x5690 Xeon. My favorite build ever cause of the budget challenge.
Budget series would be awesome
I built your $500 pc build (i3 12100f and asurix 5500 5500 xt) in this case, and could not be happier. Temps are well below 80c while gaming, just with the included fans and stock cpu cooler. Great case!
Do u recommend me to build it? And do u have discord so we can chat about the performance.
Do you know what is cool? When you had a long day and come home and see a new episode of the toasty Bros. Just relax and watch what you can make with affordable parts. Thank you for your dedication to making great content. 😎👍
The case is clutch
Its always awesome to see how cool everyone else's PCs are especially my friends, my parents don't have enough money to buy one for me. Its okay though because I have a Samsung tablet! 😀
From the video it looked as if there was thermal paste in the socket. Did you give a proper clean? Because it could be that a dodgy pin connection is causing the ram issues.
corsair vengance lpx 2x8GB sticks are going for anywhere between £30-£40 in the UK on amazon
Hey Toasty Bros! love your videos but i wanted to throw out a suggestion, have you ever thought about testing VR? Like a budget friendly pc that can run VR games
love the headset boys.
I build a cheap all new build in 2022 and added in a lightly gtx 760 2gb for a buyer. It was a Pentium G6400, 8gb dual channel ram, 360gb SSD, 500w psu. I build it for $313 all new but he gpu. The purpose was for upgradability for the starting gamers. The kid that bought it was 13 and wanted to play eSports titles.
Can you do a video on a budget streaming pc please?
So I used that asrock motherboard and got 3200 ram for it. At first it wouldn't post so I put slower ram in I manually set the ram speed and after that I was able to get it to post with 3200. I can't remember if I messed with the speed or just the xmp profiles it has been a few years.
A year and a half ago I got a brand new Team group 2X8 RAM kit that worked fine for a couple of hours, then died completely. Very disappointing, because I let it set on the shelf for a few months before using it, so was outside of the return window. As for that motherboard, I have a PC that uses the same Asrock A320 board, it runs fine with two random sticks of Forza memory, it is a backup computer, and the RAM came out of two different Ibuypower prebuilts, same timing on both sticks at least, and it runs great with XMP at 3000.
Your videos got me to build my son a pc for his bday. i got him a Ryzen 5 5500, rx580 8gb, asus tuf a520m plus, 16gb 3200hz ram, 1tb gen 3 m.2 and 600w 80+ bronze and musetex atx case with 6 pre installed rgb fans.

I'm rocking a 320 motherboard with a 3200g, an RX 580 8gb, and 16gb of ram.... almost this exact same build but I spent $600+ 3 years ago.
Can someone tell me how this is upgradable? I want to know what parts
zen1 cpu's have a bit of an issue with ram above 2666 mt/s although sometimes 3000 and up to 3200 mt/s will work but not on all motherboard and bios has to be up to date to fix the issues due to ram not running properly and even QVL stuff may sometimes not work . this ASROCK A320m HDV goes up to 3200 mt/s and since you used 3600 mt/s ram it is most likely why it didn't want to work at all and with a more recent zen+ or zen2 chip it might have worked fine but the memory controller on zen1 was pretty bad with some higher speed ram above 2666 and had some issues as well as the motherboard limitations so this combo wasn't likely to work well . A*20 chipsets are the bottom of the barrel stuff so i'm not exactly surprised these 3 parts didn't play nice together .
Saw the same build with an rx 580 8gb at andy's tech
i recently used the same case in a build and could not get the provided rgb to work with the hub that was provided. i used a gigabyte b660 mb and didnt see an argb header on it did i do something wrong or was my hub bad?
Better upgrade path on a 10th gen than a AM4, That MB supports all 5000 series cpus including the 5800X3D.
Do you need a wifi cable thing that goes into the mother board?
Probably have to update the BIOS / UEFI, has been a problem with AMD boards and 3600 RAM
Built mine under 300$ with r5 2600x and rx 580 2048sp
I am done build for anything and but how changed color for fans because still stuck is Green?
nice video
The PC failed to boot probably because of the RAM speeds. R5 1600 supports max speed 2667MHz on system memory according to specs at AMD site so putting in the 3600MHz ram could prevent system from booting.
I had similar issue with i5-6600k that supports max speed 2133MHz of system memory so when I put in there 2400MHz RAM the PC wouldn't boot.
It can be solved if you can get into bios and you underclock the ram to the max speed supported or you need different RAM.
My $300 build has a intel xeon E5-2630 v4, a rx 580, a 512 gb nvme ssd, 500 watt psu and a m-atx pc case(tempered glass with 1x 120mm fan)
Have you tried updating to latest bios?
Is it valid for retrogames? Like the old Windows series , Tomb Raider, Broken Sword, Full Throttle, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Mafia, Hitman, or the ps1/PS2 emulators?

Maybe the ram speed wasn't compatible. Probably 3200mhz is the max for that board. You guys went with 3600mhz. I believe it's q clock frequency incompatibility, not that the ram didn't work. It is an older platform, 1st gen ryzen.
Weird. That AsRock board only supports 2997 but should support a down clocked 3600. Maybe the 1600 doesn't like faster RAM

if you buy used part you can find rx580 8gb ryzen 5 2600 16gb ram DDR4 withe only 300$ and play all the new generation games and most of games withe ultra textures 60fps
I checked the Asrock site. The board does not support 3600 memory. If you have some 3200 memory laying around it will support that.
could you alter the xmp?
The board or the CPU are not going to run @ 3600 but that's a XMP speed. If you run the kit at the stock JEDEC speed it should work. The older ram controllers can't handle the speeds that fast.
@@AnonIllumi I don't think so the base multiplier is wrong. In some cases they will be stable at a lower speed and won't reach the full potential. But, if the base is wrong they will not function.

I have a question, how long does it take to build a PC on average as an experienced person?
In our experience, it really varies on what youre putting in it, what kind of form factor your case is, whether the components have rgb which will mean extra cables. If you care about cable management is big too. For someone who's done it for a while, with certain factors, an hour or a little over, MAYBE. Could be less too if the components and case allow
I'll throw my two cents into this if that's okay. It depends a lot on the components you pick for your build and how much extra stuff you add. Size of build format, type of case and the power supply are the biggest factors in my opinion. A well thought out build with minimal added stuff can be built nicely in a couple of hours or less. I will add that I really like the Thermaltake Smart BM2 550W 80+ Bronze Power supply, it's semi modular with non-sleeved black cables, so it's a clean start for a build. It can be found for $60 new when you find a good sale.
Like the others have said, it depends on components. But if we're talking a straight forward build with no RGB. The actual building part takes between 45 minutes and an hour if I'm trying to go fast. With windows install/software taking at least another 15+ minutes depending on how much stuff you're installing from there. I've been building PCs for about 23 years now.
But, I'm usually the type to take it a little slower for the sake of doing it right the first time. My last build which has 6 argb fans, 360mm AIO, fully modular PSU took me about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half for just the build portion.
If you are very experienced and don't do anything too crazy (such as a custom loop) and in a reqular sized case, I'd say about an hour (probably an hour +) | Just building, not installing or chaning any bios settings
With no RGB and air cooling, I can build one in 30 to 45 minutes. I’m slightly above novice.
The toasty bros should sell that pc in there store so I can buy one
How much fps in fortnite
Ryzen is so finicky when it comes to ram. I bought some Corsair Ram that is made for AMD, wouldn't work with my 5800x. Dropped in 3200mhz ram and it turned right on, had the same issue that you had. I tried another kit with my 5600x build and only one works and the other doesn't, yet it's the same ram and the same speed
That's because 5800x supports only up to 3200MHz RAM. The PC might not boot if faster than supported RAM is used.
Or the BIOS will underclock the ram but that's not always the case. I had similar issue with i5-6600k where faster than supported RAM wouldn't boot. I had to get into bios and set max speed to the max supported speed by the CPU.
Hey Guys, i want to build a PC with an r5 1600 and a 1060 6gb for 1080p gaming. Is this a good combo? I can't go higher from a budget standpoint
No
@@JohnSmith-hv6ks why not
@@Adrianwe44 Idk why he is trolling but that's a good combo. Not too good of a GPU for the CPU so hopefully not too bad bottlenecks. It'll do very well at 1080p. Just make sure that the 1060 you get has 6GB of VRAM because a 3GB model exists which is too little.
You should be good with 6gb for 1080p as long as you dont mind turnjng some settings down
