My grandfather and most of his ancestors were from Mt Airy! My great-great grandfather worked at that granite quarry. Really want to check it out for myself someday.
I really enjoyed this video. I like watching reruns from Andy Griffith. It comes on channel 2-2 in the early evening on non cable channel TV. Looks like you could spend some time in Mt Airy checking out everything available.
@@AikenAdventures it was great!!! Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the fried flounder. It was very good. I couldn’t believe the price either! All 5 of us ate for $56!
This video is one in a series of videos from our Christmas travels last December. In the video, we started in Martinsville, VA and traveled to Mount Airy.
Good question. It depends on what you want to do. We had to wait a little while before the tour guide was available to take us around in the car, and I think that certain times of year, that attraction gets pretty busy, so I’d plan to block out about two or three hours for that part alone. Then, depending upon your interest in the Main Street Shops-like antique stores, book stores, boutiques, etc., you could spend a few hours wandering around there. The Andy Griffith Museum only took an hour or two.
I was here Jesus...... almost 20 years ago. Met a girl there and fell in love with this place. Although we are not together anymore Its one of my most fond memories. The people the museum and the waffle house. I miss this place so much.

I don’t know where that Bojangles video was filmed but it wasn’t Mount Airy. Anyways, thanks for bringing attention to Mount Airy.

How many hours would you recommend visiting for?

You forgot to include: hangout with Grant Routh and Payton Harmon
Interesting. Who are they?
Hows the Mexican food in Mt Airy?
Not sure. I don’t think we are Mexican food during our visit.
Do I live in mount airy
Yes
Am I watching to see why everyone comes here ?
Yes
😂 Understood! I grew up in a small town, too, but the only tourism was a NASCAR track in the next town and a couple of state parks.

My very first girl friend lives there. It was forty years ago. I'd give anything to chat with her...
