Hello Jon, you are so right. Your mom did the right thing and praise the Almighty that she has such a beautiful support system. Many of us nurses see this and many of us are disappointed by what we to see, to put it mildly. The facilities never hire enough personnel. Nothing in the "health care" system or society is pro family. So we see the results, a nation that is medicated, and sick, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Glad there are communities out there like yours.

You're right. People who have money and work hard are living in a box they don't want. Sometimes we are not even equal to animals when they are born in nature and die in nature.
Unfortunately, so many people don't have any friends, and family to be there. People like me who couldn't have children, and doesn't have a "close" family, and have friends that are of the same age as myself. Fortunately, they will be surrounded by their own families. So many people have families that can't be bothered with visiting the elderly family members. We really do need support groups for those that don't have any friends or family to be with them in the end. It's a beautiful idea. In fact, if I had to move to a different country, near the end of my life, just to have the support, and love from people I don't even know, I would. ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎🐕
Thats the True Way a Christian shuold be living, we here in my country Indians too Love and Serve our Older Ones and Honour our Aged Parents and Seniours.
This is one of the main reasons I practice metta meditation -- so that I will be safe with regard to my feelings no matter what happens. I don't experience loneliness. It's best if families can stay together and take care of each other, but some people don't get along. Sometimes older people get dementia and they can be a danger to themselves and others, and very hard to care for.
I feel like old people are generally put aside because they're sick. Many of them slowly lose their friends because they die, or because people in general don't have fun hanging out with old people. A lot of people find old people slow or boring. That's a common trait with sick people in general, if a sickness affects your brain and social interactions for long enough you're likely to start losing sight or your friends.
I liked your thinking about the end of life and taking the lesson, and I believe that reading the Holy Qur’an makes you never get bored of life and long for the afterlife.

I am a single individual of a particular age that lives in the US I'm thinking about moving to Africa as well but it won't change my circumstances I'll still be lonely how was being alone in the US different from being in Africa loneliness is loneliness despite geography. Where in Africa are you moving to perhaps we can be friends
@@miztri I am moving to Kenya, Kisumu, west Kenya by lake Victoria. I have a wonderful woman with two daughters (and a HUGE family) waiting for me. White "cis" men are popular in Africa, no matter age 😊

In the West we like to ensure the pharmaceutical companies maximise their profits from our misfortune, whether we need them or not.
