Well done Mick you gave it a bloody good go. I remember you met me as I crossed the finish line of Lakeland 100 2021. You were a gentleman and a brilliant marshal. I'd love to see you finish it in 2024, you've got this 💪🏻
Well done for getting to Braithwaite, I have the same rule as you about being timed out and not quitting. I won’t be running, I’ve done the 50 several times & now give back by managing Buttermere CP. See you in Buttermere CP next year
Kim. Thank you. Its always good to give. In fact I actually get more out of helping rather than running events. But I will be giving it another go next year
Yo Mick I've been binge watching Lakeland 50/100 videos from Canada. I just followed you on strava too "Mookie Taylor". Can't wait to watch your video next year. Definitely gonna subscribe buddy! I'm an older dude, slow and steady so hopefully it's not an insult saying I can relate to you pal! Good luck!
Mookie. Thankyou. Yes the route is self navigation but the roadbook (you can also download this from the website) you receive at the start is better than the map. But you do get given a route marked map as well. Don't let this phase you. There are a couple of bits you have to concentrate on with navigation. but generally is not that bad. I have four recce videos. Only Buttermere to Dalemain missing. But there are others. Good luck in the ballot and hopefully we will cross paths.
You were out there giving it a bloody good go which is more than 99% of the population so don’t beat yourself up. Did Not Fail … Did Nothing Fatal…. are much better ways of thinking of it and everything is a learning curve and you be back stronger the next time 👍
Thankyou. I am fortunate to know the route. I am often support runner for the recces. Which you should try to get on whhen they are announced. I probably started about 150th place and was never alone. Over the second half the 100 runners will be spread out but you have the company of the 50 runners. If you don't get to Dalemain before they start, you will catch people up. Good luck. See you on the start line.
Good video, I admire your resolve, you've got what it takes to get it done. Good luck in 2024!
Joanna. Thank you for those kind words. I will be giving it a good go in 2024.
It's all good. Best wishes out there.
Thank you

Thank you for those kind works. I really appreciate the compliment. I will be giving it another go next year.
That's great news, I'll be there for the 100 too. I'll make sure I say hello. Good luck with the training. Cheers Lee 😃👍🏻
I believe in you no matter what. All your events amaze me every time. Well done buddy.

Thanks for the kind comments. I gave it my best but my body just didn't work. I will be back in 2024
Great video mick! . How did you find navigating the course? Have entered next years 100 and worried about getting lost lol

Go back and conquer it 😊
Thankyou. I will be on that start line next year.
