Smoked trout dip is the only way I've ever fixed trout that I liked, but I got a buddy that loves them.
My dad and I fished all over the place and it was the best time in my life it's something your son will never forget
Loved trout fishing with my dad up in Lassen Nat'l Park. He would help the hatchery release trout, then fish the streams where they weren't released. He liked the wild trout; more of a challenge and they put up a better fight. Brought back wonderful memories.

I love how you teach the boys to be an honorable fisherman. Catch and release the ones that are small is the right thing to do. They will never get to be big fish otherwise. As a girl, I went with my dad and his friend fishing on Rainbow Lake in northern Arizona. I was about 12 or 13 and I caught the majority of the rainbow trout that night. We smoked them and fried them. Oh that was my favorite memory with my Dad. I lived in another state and rarely saw my dad so it was a great time that I will always cherish. Like the old saying 'If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you'll feed him for a lifetime.' Congratulations on having a successful day, and thanks for sharing such a great outing.
The dip looked really good. I love miracle whip on sandwiches and in certain dishes. But I grew up in Ks and now live in Ga and if you tell anyone in the South that you used Miracle Whip, they lose their minds. Southerners are "Duke's or Blue Plate" mayonnaise. Happy New Year to the whole Arm's family.
If i make mayonnaise at home, i put sweet pickle juice in it so it tastes like miracle whip!

I love trout fishing, especially when camping. I will wrap the cleaned fish in foil with fresh garlic, butter, salt and pepper. I cook it right beside a campfire! Absolutely the best! 🤗😋😁

Where I used to Trout fish ( Tenkiller) we were allowed 5 fish. And that wasnt enough to feed my family. I really do like Trout. I do like watching those boys catching fish and rope swimming.

Don’t tell anybody else, but when fishing for farm raised trout, scatter small handfuls of sand into the water in front of where you intend to fish. They have been conditioned to respond to that surface noise at feeding time and will swim to you to investigate. Remember, just keep this pointer between us

It's the first time i've heard of a smoked fish recipe with sugar in it, because here we don't do that, the brine solution is enough to bring it's taste out.

I’m from Ohio, and they stock a big pound in our town in the fall with trout. And we just get some canned corn from the store. Put a couple of crenels on a small hook. Cheaper than power bait. Works just as good. 🎣🐟🎣🐟

Hi Daniel, Houston and Jacobi!! It great to see Jacobi again. I love trout fishing. My husband and I used to go up to Redding, California and fish for trout in Whiskey Town lake. We always used salmon eggs. And if you use a drop of anise oil in the eggs you get the hardest hits from trout. So much fun! Of coarse it may be illegal to use anise oil there in Oklahoma. But trout go crazy over that stuff. Enjoy your New Year's Eve with your family. Love the catch, clean and smoked trout video. Blessings to all for the New Year 2023!
We have used small marshmellows and small cubes of velveeta cheese. We caught trout. Our hooks were called Mitze Ditzes. This is favorite ice fishing tackle for panfish too.

Good morning Daniel. 01/01/2023. A video popped up from two years ago. The one that DeJay painted the cabinets black and you installed them and a sink in the garage. (Now her shipping/receiving department.) And you talked about your uncle and your dad. I cried with you again. You used that old jigsaw and two years ago I left a message on that old video that I have the same one color and decal on it. Just thought it was weird that I used it yesterday the first time in I guess 3 years. Also I left a comment on that video and my original comment is two behind my original comment. I thought the fish was going into the other pond on Mill's property. Eating smoked salmon for New Year's eve. OMG, Bella, lol. Last time trout fishing. We would stick our rods in between rocks to hold. Then in the boat, we would back out to about 250 deep - drop the line. Then back at shore, tie a ribbon or pop can. Once the can/ribbon went under, we had a laker. Jacobi's fish choose to jump & tumble, lol. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing, eh:)) Happy New Year to all.

Don’t know where you’re at but it reminds me of the head waters of the blue river. Great to see the guys having a great time out with a fishing pole in hand. Looks like a good time was had by all. The dip looked really good. Try salmon baked with onion powder or sliced & butter. pick off bone and put the ingredients you like for tuna salad sandwich. It's really good. Happy New Years Arms family & Jacoby!!! 🤗❤👍
Two pound test is great for the small ones. Trout are kind of sensitive. The hatchery trout are especially sensitive! If you wet your hands before you grab them it helps them survive and reduces scale loss. The ones that bleed it will normally die so it is a good idea to keep the bloody ones. Steel Head and Salmon are the fun ones to catch. They will actually put up a good fight!
