I'm a 14-year-old trans guy. I've come to terms with my identity just last year after a lot of talking with my friends and my family. I'm accepted by most of them, and I haven't been happier. I've been talking with my family about testosterone, and I'm starting soon... the only problem is that I don't know if I'm ready to commit to having a male body. Wait until you're older before making an irreversible decision. Yes, you can stop taking T ar any time, but many of the effects are permanent. Think about your future fertility also.
Hi there, non-binary dude here- Reminding everyone to NEVER use Ace bandages to bind your chest! It's very unsafe! Invest in an actual chest binder. Have a good day!
Yassss it's amazing it's really made me understand about the community and my mate who's gay, I also am still finding out about my sexuality as I'm 12 years old so I'm around the age of more relationships and getting a bit more serious compared to primary school relationships. I do believe I am bi but I still have no clue, buzzfeed really helps with understanding and your comments is probably one of the nicer comments to see.
+katrina hallworth honey 12 is too young to be thinking about relationships wait till you like 17 or something you should be focusing on school!! Plus relationships are not a game! They are serious business they are for finding your life partner not for just having that label!
+katrina hallworth don't listen to that other person. 12 is around the age I started questioning stuff and you shouldn't be afraid of all the possibilities. So yes, take your time, figure things out at whatever pace you need. Relationships aren't usually serious around this time anyways so if you want to be in one with someone then go for it, whether you think it'll last a month or a year. Now is the time to find yourself, later on things will get serious.
I have to say that I love that the people in this video are all people who actually go through binding, instead of this being a video like "watch these cis people try on binders for fun!!!!!" like i think having this representation is so important!!!! Awesome!!!
A question, in one of the text screens, the video says queer. Where I come from, it's used as an insult and has always been considered really offensive towards people in the LGBT community and is frowned upon. Is it now acceptable?
I agree that this is better. It would be too painful to watch several perfectly good binders be given to people who don't even want them, and are getting money off of them. When some of us have no oppertunities to get one and actually need one. You had a very good point. ☺
I'd like to bind only beach use my breasts make me feel vulnerable. Most of the time, I'm fine, I like wearing shirts that show a modest amount of cleavage. But sometimes, I get this crippling feeling of vulnerability, like I'm naked. However, I have no idea how you buy a binder, or what to do, and my family probably wouldn't be willing to get me one 😞
+KellseyAlexHipo You can just buy them online.. I recommend GC2B. I don't think you're parents will mind because you know they shouldn't even be looking down their anyways. And if they do mind a secret way to buy them is just go online and buy them when It's around Christmas or someones birthday so you can just say it's a present so you don't have to say what you are buying. Hope this helps or gives you some ideas :)
Desi Pfander there's no harm, but as a feminist I do think men are the problem and it makes me sad that women have to change their appearance just because some males don't respect them
MsAquamonkey As long and you don't bind to tightly, don't wear it for more than 8 hours and make sure you bind safely then it shouldn't hurt too much I don't believe
Im a cis-female but i honestly would want to wear a binder just because i dont really enjoy having breast and find it a hassle and doesnt go with my fashion sense
+CheerUp2 I actually identify as a a cis (for the most part) female and do wear a binder. I don't want mean to invalidate the feelings of transmen but it makes me feel more comfortable with myself.
Natalie Parker that's very very dangerous. Especially for women who don't want that. Women in Africa and the Congo are forced to Bind to keep their "sexuality" pure. Even doing it the safe way like this, it could damage or flatten their breast to an extent that they don't want. It's a good idea in a mental form but to actually do it, it wouldn't be
Love bug I see your point. I hadn't thought of that. Maybe they should just put it on for a n hour or so (not wearing it in public) so that they know what it feels like to wear a binder.
so am i apparently that was not aware of chest binding and when it said chest binder i actually thought fashion designers made clothes from actual binders the school supply binder..... no, no one though this... okay
I'm a 13 year old trans boy and I've been binding for about 2 months. It makes me feel confident in myself, before I got a binder I wouldn't even really leave my house unless I had to. I would always just feel like everyone could see the fact that I was female and I hated it. I honestly can't wait until I'm 18 and can get top surgery
I'm so proud of these amazing people. i'm glad that buzzfeed does these kinds of things to bring awareness to things that need to be discussed. thank you, buzzfeed. and thank you to those people who are incredibly strong individuals. keep being you.
I'm a straight, natural female and I enjoy binding. I enjoy the female anatomy and think it's beautiful, but I feel better about myself when it seems I have no breasts at all. Kudos to people that do it everyday. It can feel very constricting sometimes
As a trans guy myself, I really appreciate this video being made. This video is great not only bc it educates people, but also because education and understanding can help to stop hate crimes. Most of the time hate crimes are due more to ignorance, and this video might just help people to understand the trans community a little bit more. Killin it buzzfeed, keep it up. 👍🏼
Finding that perfect binder that's not too loose or too tight is like getting a firm hug that keeps the dysphoria away, at least for me. You look at the mirror and go "wow, that's me, I look amazing, I look like a dude". Sure it gets sweaty and you can't really do things that make you out of breath when you're wearing one, but it's totally worth it, every second. Bind safely everyone, remember to take deep breaths every now and then, don't bind for over 9 hours at a time, and don't sleep with your binder on. And stay strong.
I don't know if this comment will get buried, but for everyone that sees this, I desperately need advice for my online friend. He is trans male and gets severe bouts of gender dysphoria. Right now, he uses 4 or 5 binders at once because he feels that using just one doesn’t make his large chest flat enough, and having only one on gives him a giant uni-boob blob. He’s at the point where he doesn’t care if it’s dangerous, but he’s willing to let me try to find a better option. He needs something that is affordable and fast enough to put on before work. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Make sure he gets the right size, if you have to small of a binder it'll gibe you the "uni boob" effect, sometimes even a push up bra. tell him to go up a size.
wearing a sports bra underneath a binder can get rid of the uniboob and help to flatten his chest a little more. it's not ideal, but it's way better than 5 binders at a time.
He is probably using the wrong binder. Or many have him try wearing a sports bra under a binder. If that dose not work, two sports bras. But make sure he is using the correct binder size please! I don’t want him to get hurt!
My heart goes out to anyone doing their best to be their authentic self. I am so sorry and ashamed at the recent backlash about trans people using the restroom they gender identify with. Anyone in the LGBTQ community please know there are MILLIONS of us that support you and do not in any way fear you. We welcome and want you in our lives, our communities, and our hearts.
I am a cis asexual but I've always wanted to bind. I've always hated having breasts and the fact that they're D's makes it seem like that's all people notice about me. I wish I was more androgynous looking but part of me is scared to bind. I'm scared that I'll do it wrong or that there's long-term health risks.
^^^Exactly. Also it's good to stretch your back and "crack" the bones in between your shoulder blades when wearing the binder. There's a way that I personally find easy to do, I'll explain it as best I can. Put your hands flat against a wall (with your finger tips facing inward) and your arms bent like you're doing a push up. They should be about shoulder width apart. Your body should be one or two feet away from the wall. Push your chest towards the wall, while pushing back with your shoulder blades. So far this method has only worked when I'm wearing my binder, but it does help.
Hi I'm sorry if this is offensive! But when wearing one like how do you do it? Sorry again in just confused on how? Like do you put it on then just not wear a bra? Thank you and I'm sorry if this is offensive
+Caityowl Iskawaii You just have to be patient and understanding. Shes from a different era and doesnt understand. She probably wants the best for you. It will get better. :D
Tell her off. You are who you are and if she can’t accept you then why should you accept her? It is really sad when parents don’t accept their children. Try telling her that chest binding could prevent you from getting depression and anxiety. Binding dose help a lot of people from that if they are not comfortable with their own skin
a binder that is pretty comfy in my opinion is gc2b ! they are made by nonbinary people, for nonbinary people. im glad that buzzfeed made a video about binding, because the last one included ace bandages which is a NO!! please bind safely everyone.
+Esther Bjerga im pretty sure this video is to educate people about trans people who actually NEED to wear a binders, and not a video about someone who wears binders just cause they can.....
By wanting to hide your beasts rather than wanting to excentuate them, you are non-conforming. It means to not do things by society's standards for what is considered ladylike, manly, normal, and so on.
+TheShyCorona I agree with you and no one really "needs" binding anyway. Yes it makes some people more comfortable in their bodies but it's not really a need.
+Jessica Byrd okay maybe I'm unconventional but I'm not gender non-conforming. I'm a woman, I participate in most female norms, I just like how my shirts hang when my chest is a little flatter.
Buzzfeeds diversity sometimes feels just for the sake of diversity, but I love that it promotes diversity in areas that might still be taboo Thanks to the creators of this video and others like it, you support so many people through your work 😊💕
I love and appreciate what this video is doing and the educational and emotional points they're hitting on. Also, unrelated, but Devon-Norelle's voice is amazing.
Why is this socially accepted but not padded bras? I personally think that padded bras are uncomfortable so that's why I don't wear them but can't everyone just do however they want? If I wan't to wear a chest Binder, Padded bra or no bra at all I shouldn't be judged for such a thing.
Johanna Alnesjö I've never heard anyone ever say anything about padded bras and trust me as a high school teenager binders are not as accepted as you'd think
Yes. And that is what my problem was. I didn't love myself...and I thought making myself a man (because I am a tomboy and like "boy-things") will fix what I see in the mirror but it didn't. There was always something wrong with me. But it wasn't my body it was my mind
it's the attraction to multiple genders, pansexuality and bisexuality are the most common/most talked about forms of polysexuality but there are different ones as well
My ex-boyfriend is trans and has been on T for a year but is saving up for surgery so he wears a binder. He's super self conscious about it but I try and help him realize he's perfect no matter what
I first binded at 9 nine years old at first for games and dress up! *10 years later* I graduated I am transgender and non binary assexual. I own my own apartment, I bind normally and I now realise I reflect so much on my little self. 🏳️🌈
I'm feel really weird right now... like, I'm a cis woman and yet I don't feel like one.. I have a more boyish personally and I wear binders cuz my breasts make my shirts stick out and people stare at my breasts. But then I'll have these moments were I'll put on dresses and feel like a princess. Like, idk what I am...
you could just be a female who isn't your stereotypical female. there's nothing wrong with being a masculine woman or a feminine man. I'd say just be yourself and don't over think it.
It’s when you don’t conform to a gender... pretty much you don’t feel like you fit in either gender . At least that’s my knowledge and understanding of it as being part of the trans community
LameEdits the people like me lol. We don’t feel male or female. When someone says “are you a boy or a girl?” I just say no while nodding or yes while shaking my head. It’s cool
im happy that they put "not everyone feels the need to have top surgery" because for me, my chest dysphoria comes and goes. there are days when im fine with my breasts, there are days when i have to bind or ill have a meltdown. i cant imagine having permanent top surgery, the thought is too scary. but that doesnt mean there are people who dont want it! seriously, every queer and trans experience is differenet.
Even though I'm a liberal, and I'm generally annoyed by the Buzzfeed's championing of the regressive left point of view, I still really appreciate these videos that make me aware of the kinds struggles that I knew nothing about.
I got my boyfriend a binder this summer and he wears it everyday since and it he loves it sooo much. It makes my heart swell when he runs his hands across a flat chest and smiles. I love him so much.
I started binding like, what, three weeks ago? It's great, my dysphoria definitely isn't as big now. My back hurts a lot and sometimes it's uncomfortable, but taking it off feels amazing.
No I dont. :( which is why im just waiting until next year when im in college or if i get any giftcards for christmas and can tell my parents i bought stuff with them googoodollsfan
ive been wearing a binder for a solid year now and its extremely painful i have bruises and cuts all on my sides but its alot more painful not to wear one.
squid+ you might have an incredibly unsafe/cheap or wrong size binder and wearing binders like that can cause your ribs to warp and even a punctured lung :( you should really try to invest in a better one if you can! research and practice safe binding, for the sake of your physical health
guys i am fine i promise i bruise exceptionally easily and i have very sensitive skin so any pressure on it causes my skin to become incredibly angry i have talked to my gp about it and its fine i have been told to wear it for only 5 hours and i have to wear a size to big. thank you for your concern but really i was just trying to make a point how for me personally it is very painful which it is but id rather this than mental pain.
the fact that I wear my binder 24/7 and never take it off unless I need to take a shower because I never feel comfortable without my binder and dysphoria won't let me feel ok with my binder off and I dont wanna be reminded that I will never become a guy and I just want those things to disappear and feel like myself again and even if it's hurting my chest due to never take them off,I will just keep them on because I rather feel pain with my binder on then feeling more pain without my binder on,I sleep in my binder and rarely even take them off because I just can't stare into the mirror without my chest being flat or even feel them dingling around blah blah please don't do this it can break your ribs and hurt yourself,I will have to work at my dysphoria, binding and stuff and I know I need help about it,just please take a rest every 8 hours and take it off before sleep
This video actually made me feel better. I've been binding for 7 years. I was having a little depressed dysphoric moment and watching this actually helped. Thank you buzz feed!
I wish binders were more available. I don't bind but I know someone who wants to. And I hope everyone who does bind does it safely. Using duct tape or tight sports bras are dangerous. Stay safe and have confidence ^_^
I agree, having binders available at places like Target or kohls would be revolutionary. People would be able to try on binders and find a size that fits and it would be so much more accessible to people without credit cards or who have to hid it from their parents.
+Magic Penguin Because of how excepting Target is of transgender people and gay people and everything in between they're probably gonna be selling binders by September
Just make sure you're being safe when binding, everybody! It shouldn't be restricting your breathing.

My friend is getting me a binder for my birthday so I'm making sure I know how to wear it safely

Wait until you're older before making an irreversible decision. Yes, you can stop taking T ar any time, but many of the effects are permanent. Think about your future fertility also.
I know this is a kinda serious video and I appreciate it but ummmm ...Can we take the time to acknowledge how much of a baddie Devin is?
Yessssss omg
hello!
I'm now confused, but yes he is😍
+breon757 what are you confused about?
I get the message, i meant im confused because I'm a gay guy who is not normally attracted to trans men
Hi there, non-binary dude here-
Reminding everyone to NEVER use Ace bandages to bind your chest! It's very unsafe! Invest in an actual chest binder. Have a good day!
agreed! i have a friend who was actually fractured ribs by using ace bandages. please stay safe everyone!!
i feel like we all have a love/hate relationship with our binders
Respect to buzzfeed for having more videos on trans and the Rest of the LGBT community
Me
Megan Jimenez they're...running oo of ideas this is offensive
Nobody talking about this good looking man? Just me? K.
lol
well, which one?
+All About my FuFu all of them
+Naslin Ahmed they are all good looking!
+Naslin Ahmed I'd go for Tony, he has such... nice eyes.
I still would have liked to see someone that has never worn one, try it for a week. Cis or not.
isnt anyone gonna talk about how hot Devin-norelle is?
Yup. soooo hot :)
+akashi x that's my friend. he's the sweetest person i know
+Alexa Acosta seriously omg he's soooo attractive
Why thank you ;)
+Alexa Acosta your lying
I need an opposite binder
same XD
Lol
I think that's called breast implants
Just get a padded bra
Me too😂😂
My best friend got his binder when he came out. You should have seen the tears on his face. It was beautiful.
Bless everyone who has to go through this 🙌🏼
It's so sad that they have to fear being assaulted.
+imagineaddie They don't have to fear anything...
+TheRealMcGyver what do you mean?
They don't have to be afraid
TheRealMcGyver
it seems like it's a rational fear, doesn't it?
the guy said in the video that he feels uncomfortable without his binder because he fears being judged or assaulted.
+KellseyAlexHipo If you're a minor, there are some sites that do giveaways for free :)
KellseyAlexHipo vulnerable? And why would they make u feel this way?
Desi Pfander we don't have to change our appearance because of men. They should change their behavior!
Desi Pfander there's no harm, but as a feminist I do think men are the problem and it makes me sad that women have to change their appearance just because some males don't respect them
That looks so painful...much respect and love to all here, and all who bind.
MsAquamonkey As long and you don't bind to tightly, don't wear it for more than 8 hours and make sure you bind safely then it shouldn't hurt too much I don't believe
Im a cis-female but i honestly would want to wear a binder just because i dont really enjoy having breast and find it a hassle and doesnt go with my fashion sense
same!
+CheerUp2 As a trans guy who used to have to wear a bra, I can tell you that certain brands of binders are MUCH more comfortable! :)
+CheerUp2 I actually identify as a a cis (for the most part) female and do wear a binder. I don't want mean to invalidate the feelings of transmen but it makes me feel more comfortable with myself.
Saylor Do you have any recommendations? :D
I just got a new gc2b binder and its amazing
Video idea: cis women wear binders for a week.
Natalie Parker they should just try them on... they hurt for newbies
how abt////////no...........
Lol hell no!
I get chest pain just for wearing a bra. I would not image myself binding
Same.
+Ife Uchime It's actually quite comfortable and in some ways I feel more mobile with a binder instead of a bra.
It's terrible.
It hurts every muscle on the upper half of your torso. It's sucks
I actually think that a binder is more comfortable than a bra
One more totally straight guy here that *SUPPORTS* your community 100%!!! Much love.
+godfatherNYC seeing this made me really happy?? ty fam :^))
-a really gay trans person
It's nice to know that I can feel comfortable even around cis/straight people. Thanks man! -small trans dude
Ya'll. Devin is so freaking cute. He's so cute. Omfg.
agreed! that full pic tho 😍
Omg the black guy with the nose ring
+Entertainment Reviews nah it said trans man next to his name
+Entertainment Reviews if you are a trans man, you are a man. Please, get it right.
***** W to M. So man x
I knoooow! right? dayum, sir, you look great.
***** ... a) i’m not thick. b) that means he is still a man ...
so am i apparently that was not aware of chest binding and when it said chest binder i actually thought fashion designers made clothes from actual binders the school supply binder..... no, no one though this... okay
Me too
Same
tbh
+K Michael same tbh
Yeah :P
I'm a 13 year old trans boy and I've been binding for about 2 months. It makes me feel confident in myself, before I got a binder I wouldn't even really leave my house unless I had to. I would always just feel like everyone could see the fact that I was female and I hated it. I honestly can't wait until I'm 18 and can get top surgery
How's life now
Hey, you're 16 now, how are you? Life as a trans person can be tough so I just wanted to check in :) Remember to stay safe and hydrated!
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT DEVIN, I AM IN LOVE
ok yea he is bae 👌😏
My mom bought a binder thinking it was a sports bra
Lol
+kawaii asuna lucky you
oh 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I do it because I'm a cosplayer and I've only cosplayed guys before
Ruby Bain sameeeeeeee😄
Devin is unbelievably attractive. Dayum.
Sue Z ikr
I'm so proud of these amazing people. i'm glad that buzzfeed does these kinds of things to bring awareness to things that need to be discussed. thank you, buzzfeed. and thank you to those people who are incredibly strong individuals. keep being you.
I'm a straight, natural female and I enjoy binding. I enjoy the female anatomy and think it's beautiful, but I feel better about myself when it seems I have no breasts at all. Kudos to people that do it everyday. It can feel very constricting sometimes
Huge amount of respect for the people in this video, and to anyone else going through this, it must be so difficult.
What if donald trump was blue
omg
the smurfs will not accept him..
Well, he already is a weird colour, so it wouldn't make that much of a difference
it would make sense
My brain:
Side 1: what the hell? Where did this come from?
Side 2: LIKE A GIANT SMURF WITH A POWERED WIG!!!!!!
I never knew people didnt enjoy binding, I've learnt so much!
This is why I love Buzzfeed.
+Nick Young
Trans guys unite ^^
Yus finally I've been waiting for this for so long !
Devin is such a babe wo
My boyfriends name is Devin
Zoe Rae cool
:)
you mean steroid beyonce
TheHybridNarwhal trying too hard
What about fat people? Does it work for fat people?
lel
yeah.... duhh
Spanks my friend, spanks. Full body spanks
Sort of. It kind of squeezes your belly a little, but it's no worse than any spanx I've ever had on.
Probably.
Make sure he gets the right size, if you have to small of a binder it'll gibe you the "uni boob" effect, sometimes even a push up bra. tell him to go up a size.
wearing a sports bra underneath a binder can get rid of the uniboob and help to flatten his chest a little more. it's not ideal, but it's way better than 5 binders at a time.
goirkens if he keeps using mire then one binder he's going to ruin his breast tissue and loose the chance to get top surgery.
Oh my god using multiple binders at once is so dangerous and it can damage his breast tissue and make it to where he can never get top surgery
He is probably using the wrong binder. Or many have him try wearing a sports bra under a binder. If that dose not work, two sports bras. But make sure he is using the correct binder size please! I don’t want him to get hurt!
I try to resist watching Buzzfeed but then I catch a glimpse of one of those intriguing titles and then I'm sucked into a Buzzfeed marathon
This is so sweet. It's rare that I see a comment so heartwarming and supportive.
Thank you, Anna
That Devin guy is so attractive, wow! I'm glad people can be themselves and that this channel supports that!
Can we talk about how handsome and hot af is Devin? ohmygod
Which one is Devin?
thank you :)
So far this method has only worked when I'm wearing my binder, but it does help.
get a breast reduction?
Ah thank you! Binding is painful and I am so hopeful for top surgery
Hi I'm sorry if this is offensive! But when wearing one like how do you do it? Sorry again in just confused on how? Like do you put it on then just not wear a bra? Thank you and I'm sorry if this is offensive
+Alex Tiedye Correct, they're worn on their own like an undergarment and then normal clothes on top.
+Nathus Dorkus thank you!
I love seeing nonbinary people in these videos concerning dysphoria and binding and top surgery. It helps me a lot.
I love the BuzzFeed is incorporating all of these trans topics in videos
My mum refuses to let me bind even though I told her how much I need too. She only cares that she doesn't want me to change, not about how I feel.
I like binding and I'm as a straight cis female. It's not just trans and non-conforming people!
+Esther Bjerga I know I was mostly poking fun.
Buzzfeeds diversity sometimes feels just for the sake of diversity, but I love that it promotes diversity in areas that might still be taboo
Thanks to the creators of this video and others like it, you support so many people through your work 😊💕
I sometimes get that vibe too like it doesn't feel genuine
Both are just trying to hide an insecurity...I don't think either are good
Yes. And that is what my problem was. I didn't love myself...and I thought making myself a man (because I am a tomboy and like "boy-things") will fix what I see in the mirror but it didn't. There was always something wrong with me. But it wasn't my body it was my mind
***** thanks you
I see your point and I respect that, what I am saying is that people shouldn't want to. People should love their bodies. No exception to the rule
I'm planning to ask my mum for a binder after I come out as Polysexual and Non Binary
Taylor Clifford what's polysexual?
it's the attraction to multiple genders, pansexuality and bisexuality are the most common/most talked about forms of polysexuality but there are different ones as well
Simon Thena thank you 😊
Technically I identify as Pansexual, so it's not as hard to, explain what Polysexual is
Trash Good luck ❤ Be yourself and everything will be fine ❤
My ex-boyfriend is trans and has been on T for a year but is saving up for surgery so he wears a binder. He's super self conscious about it but I try and help him realize he's perfect no matter what
the guy at 0:20 is good-looking as hell. Man, those eyes are gorgeous!
Thanks for finally talking about ftm's and non-binary people!!! They don't get nearly enough media attention.
I was really happy when they mention non-binary they get the least attention. Even in the trans* community.
+Akise Aru same
I first binded at 9 nine years old at first for games and dress up!
*10 years later*
I graduated I am transgender and non binary assexual. I own my own apartment, I bind normally and I now realise I reflect so much on my little self. 🏳️🌈
Wow congratulations, I came out as trans to my mom two days ago and I’m going to get a binder soon
Anastasia Demkin genderfluid
Anastasia Demkin I think you might be just not typically feminine.
same here. I identify as gender fluid personally, but you don't have to use a label, if you don't want to
you could just be a female who isn't your stereotypical female. there's nothing wrong with being a masculine woman or a feminine man. I'd say just be yourself and don't over think it.
I feel exactly the same! Sometimes I like to be very feminine, but many times I really enjoy to look boyish, and this video made me want a bind
i never thought about the ones who cant afford surgery before
What does "gender-nonconforming" mean? Sorry for my ignorance
Phannn.n dw idk either, let's hope somebody answers us!
It’s when you don’t conform to a gender... pretty much you don’t feel like you fit in either gender . At least that’s my knowledge and understanding of it as being part of the trans community
LameEdits your good. It means that you are neither male or female you between, or neither
LameEdits the people like me lol. We don’t feel male or female. When someone says “are you a boy or a girl?” I just say no while nodding or yes while shaking my head. It’s cool
CreativePotato :D I have the same answer to people. The confusion they have is just kinda funny.
im happy that they put "not everyone feels the need to have top surgery" because for me, my chest dysphoria comes and goes. there are days when im fine with my breasts, there are days when i have to bind or ill have a meltdown. i cant imagine having permanent top surgery, the thought is too scary. but that doesnt mean there are people who dont want it! seriously, every queer and trans experience is differenet.
1:28 he remind me of Sam Pottorff
omg true
I was thinking Dom Deangelis
Is Sam still alive ??
+cookiedough123 OMG same!! And I love your picture. I'm a big fan of G-Eazy too. 😊
FINALLY!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!
77....
77 FREAKIN' DEGREES !!!!
COME TO TEXAS AND FEEL THE HEAT
I started binding like, what, three weeks ago? It's great, my dysphoria definitely isn't as big now. My back hurts a lot and sometimes it's uncomfortable, but taking it off feels amazing.
i cant wait until im in college next year and can buy one of these :D
You can get one for free. There are a lot of companies that give away free used binders
yeah but i cant get stuff shipped to my parents house thats the problem googoodollsfan
TheLizzerd Have a friend that it could be shipped to
No I dont. :( which is why im just waiting until next year when im in college or if i get any giftcards for christmas and can tell my parents i bought stuff with them googoodollsfan
Same
ive been wearing a binder for a solid year now and its extremely painful i have bruises and cuts all on my sides but its alot more painful not to wear one.
Your binder probably isn't the right size then.
squid+ you might have an incredibly unsafe/cheap or wrong size binder and wearing binders like that can cause your ribs to warp and even a punctured lung :( you should really try to invest in a better one if you can! research and practice safe binding, for the sake of your physical health
squid please get a new one. Make sure you have the right size. This will affect you more in the future. It isn't safe
guys i am fine i promise i bruise exceptionally easily and i have very sensitive skin so any pressure on it causes my skin to become incredibly angry i have talked to my gp about it and its fine i have been told to wear it for only 5 hours and i have to wear a size to big. thank you for your concern but really i was just trying to make a point how for me personally it is very painful which it is but id rather this than mental pain.
the fact that I wear my binder 24/7 and never take it off unless I need to take a shower because I never feel comfortable without my binder and dysphoria won't let me feel ok with my binder off and I dont wanna be reminded that I will never become a guy and I just want those things to disappear and feel like myself again and even if it's hurting my chest due to never take them off,I will just keep them on because I rather feel pain with my binder on then feeling more pain without my binder on,I sleep in my binder and rarely even take them off because I just can't stare into the mirror without my chest being flat or even feel them dingling around blah blah
please don't do this it can break your ribs and hurt yourself,I will have to work at my dysphoria, binding and stuff and I know I need help about it,just please take a rest every 8 hours and take it off before sleep
binders are hard, but so is gender dysphoria
It's a shame long-term binding can cause irreversible damage though
+Imogen n i dont think it's so much long term binding, but unsafe binding
+Imogen n Only to breast tissue, unless you're binding unsafely.
This video actually made me feel better. I've been binding for 7 years. I was having a little depressed dysphoric moment and watching this actually helped. Thank you buzz feed!
oh man I've been binding for going on 4 years. I cant afford top surgery. Im glad to hear Im not the only one having to bind this long.
Devin's surgical scarring is magical.
My binder may constrict me but it's the most freeing feeling to be who I want to be at my age and know that this makes me happy
at 1:15 he literally has the cutest smile
I wish binders were more available. I don't bind but I know someone who wants to. And I hope everyone who does bind does it safely. Using duct tape or tight sports bras are dangerous. Stay safe and have confidence ^_^
Amazon...?
but remember, not everyone has access to the internet or a credit card.
I agree, having binders available at places like Target or kohls would be revolutionary. People would be able to try on binders and find a size that fits and it would be so much more accessible to people without credit cards or who have to hid it from their parents.
Exactly, That would be amazing. I hope in the future this would happen
+Magic Penguin Because of how excepting Target is of transgender people and gay people and everything in between they're probably gonna be selling binders by September
