Y’all, I cannot stress enough how important it is that you do NOT bind with duct tape or ace bandages or anything like that. Seriously. I tried it once, I was desperate, young, closeted and uneducated on the risks, and I took it off after about 5 minutes because it was getting hard to breathe properly and it started to hurt. I’ve heard horror stories from friends about how people messed up their ribs, back, and even lungs, and you could permanently end your chances of getting top surgery later on (if you want it). Like, seriously. You don’t want to know how much broken, or even BRUISED, ribs hurt. It hurts when you cough or even inhale and exhale deeply. Do. Not. Do. It. Your health and safety is more important. I know it’s tempting, believe me, but for the love of god, you HAVE to bind safely and with an actual binder.

It's so comfortable, it fits so well and my ribs don't get even a little bit achy until about 7 hours of binding (at the 8 hour mark i take it off) So much chest dysphoria has been relived as someone with a somewhat larger chest (38D) and it's been so euphoric that I've now started having dreams of being totally flat without it. Spectrum outfitters if your in the UK are having a free giveaway at the moment. Also if you have got a good friend or neigbour that can buy it for you and you give them the money. So it gets sent to their house.
My friend has about 3 binders and is offering to give me one when we go back to school! Since the ones they used to use are too small. They’re letting me have one of them so I’m super grateful, this is a very helpful video!
one of my friends found out that I wanted a binder and she came up to me and was like "I have this almost black market type thing for binders, if you have the money I can get you one" and I'm so so happy because my parents are so queer phobic and I wouldn't have been able to get one otherwise. I love my friends so so much
(Paragraph about unasked venting warning!) I’m not sure of my sexuality or gender as far as I’m concerned, but for the longest time, I REALLY wanted to flat out my chest. I’m not comfortable with my chest size, and I rather be flat chested than to be with big breasts
Who you are doesn't matter in regards to wearing a binder. There have been cis people on here wanting advice about binders. Just look after your health as big breast can cause a lot of issues
on a birthday party of my friend i was experiencing dysphoria and my non binary friend offered to buy me one (my parents r transphobic) and im so nervous
i was extremely nervous too when my friend offered to get me one. at the time i was binding with ace bandages and when i went into a bathroom stall to put that binder on for the first time it felt illegal to breathe but i was so relieved with it :]
I thought i posted a reply to this? Not showing up. So don't do what Ray did and that is leave it in the bathroom. At the time i didn't know Ray was trans, I thought it was because he was self conscious as he is big chested.
I can't afford one sadly. I cry a lot because of the dysphoria of my chest. But seeing others be able to bind and feel better in their bodies always brings my spirits up. ❤
It might help to check on second-hand or thrift sites to find one! I got a gc2b binder in my size for less than $10, but it can be difficult finding correct sizes since in my experience binders can get sold VERY quickly. I felt sad about not being able to afford one for a long time, so if you’re lucky with what’s being listed/up for sale right now, it might help! 💖
I got mine yesterday from a friend and I couldn't be happier! I've always been really dysphoric about my chest, even when I didn't know I was a trans man. It's really comforting to know that- well I can be comfortable in my body y'know? :)
I can’t wear binders because I had pretty bad lungs (hard time breathing, ect.) but I got a compression sports bra which doesn’t flatten as much but definitely looks pretty flat and I’m really happy about that :) hope everyone’s day is going really well
I thought i posted a reply yesterday but was so sleep deprived forgot to press reply. Anyway really glad that you have found a solution that your happy with. Anyway Ray is coming home later so fingers crossed that's he's able to do so. As he's got to travel 70 miles via public transport. He's had his first covid jab the other week. So i hope he remembers to bring his card incase he gets stopped by the cops. The dogs are going to go ape shite.
@curious little raindrop Why do you feel that you made the wrong choice? There is no set time limit on who you want to be inside. You can take all the time in the world to decide. You can be gender fluid. Clothes and make up have no gender. I have changed my profile picture. So that you can see Ray wearing make up and some fluffy thing round his neck. This was a great video. I’m 19 years old and just realized that I’m non-binary. I really want a binder but my parents are transphobic so that won’t happen right now unfortunately. I’m thinking of having a friend secretly get me a binder once I’m back at college.
Guessing your in the states? Although you could easily be in the UK. Honestly don't know what to say when someone writes about their parents being transphobic. Apart from given time, you will make friends that are so close that they will become your family. When you get your binder, just don't leave it out if your parents are around.
@@col795 I’m in the USA. I’ve already started to make friends with other trans people from my college and we’ve formed a trans support group. I’m not sure how long I can keep this a secret from my parents. I’ll probably just hide my binder in with my sports bras once I get it. My mom thinks it would give me cancer if I wore one. I’m not out yet, I had one but my mom found out and she took it away from me. It was one of the worst days of my life.
oh bloody hell seriously? It doesn't. "Binding and Breast Cancer There is no evidence to suggest that chest binding increases the risk of breast cancer. Whether you choose to bind or not, you should always be concerned about the health of your chest tissue. Unless you initiate testosterone therapy or undergo FTM/N chest reconstruction surgery, you maintain the same risk for breast cancer. Even after FTM/N top surgery, you still have a small risk of developing breast cancer. Performing monthly self-chest exams and undergoing recommended mammograms with your physician are the two best ways to detect cancer early. If you have concerns regarding chest tissue health or chest binding, discuss them with your primary care physician." Basically he says you got the same odds before binding, after binding or having them chopped. Which transphobic site did she get that information from?
UPDATE, I got another binder, I was trying my best but my mom was moving the collar of my shirt and then saw my binder, she dug through my room, found all of my binders and tighter sports bras and cut them up
I want to buy a binder but my parents dont know im lgbt plus my familys kinda poor, and if I did end up buying one my parents would buy it off Amazon even if I told them not to (yes thats happened multiple times) and I just dont know what to do :')
If you do need to buy off Amazon, make sure it's Underworks. They're a safe, reputable brand that offers binders on Amazon. Unfortunately, they're a bit more expensive than some of the other binders on there-- around $30. When people say to stay away from Amazon binders, they mean the cheap ones from weird Chinese companies no one has ever heard of that don't put a priority on safety or comfort the way brands like Underworks or GC2B do.
This reminds me of how the Chinese tied up girls feet for esthetic reasons. Maybe visit a psychologist or a body therapist and talk to your friends and family to get more comfortable in your own body before buying a binder. Your body are ment to breathe freely. A binder should only be a contemporary crutch until you learn to love your body as it is and I'm convinced that everyone can do that with support from ones love ones❤
I've just bought my first binder, got it today. Unfortunately the fabrics is quite uncomfortable for me, but it does work well. Next time I'll pay more attention to sort of fabrics the maker uses.
I came out to my friend that I’m trans or gender fluid and she was so freaking supportive and said she’s gonna buy me a binder… some days later she actually got one for me 😭 I feel so bad but she said it’s for my birthday that she missed… love her and as for my parents, they already know but… I don’t feel as comfortable yet to tell them I want a binder even though they are very supportive
Luv your friend. She sounds amazing. I'm so glad that your parents know. As long as you are careful with your binder. And that you do listen to with your body. Hopefully by the time they find out then they should be ok. If your worried at all. Just start researching information and if u have a computer. Just store all your info that you collected and give it to them. Slightly different situation. But when Ray came out, he gave us some links about trans. I didn't look as I didn't feel the need. But his dad did and i think it was either the same day or within a few days. His dad was getting him some binders. I got him some about a year later and that's another story. And oh boy Ray deserved a 'jeffro gibbs' for not listening to his mum.

my binder is on the way now and i cant wait to be able to bind i cant wait to finally be able to feel like me in my own body, gender is confusing for me because the way i experience it is weird to say the least, but im hoping that binding will relieve some of my gender worries
@@col795 really? Just like that? I thought it should be a specific fabric so it doesn't get damaged with the salt or the chlorine (depending if you swim in the sea or in a swimming pool).

Maybe even tips on how to take it off after you been swimming etc.
It is normal to feel that it's a little bit harder to breath when u are wearing a binder, but you are still gonna be able to breath without much effort. The binder is supposed to compress your chest a bit so that you appear flat, that's the main reason you would wear it. And as they say, don't wear it all day, take it off and let your body rest when it's possible.

I'm not a trans or nonbinery or anything like that, but I need a binder so I can cosplay male character is it like safe to use it for only cosplay? And is it safe to use it on the age of 11-14 years old? And I live in the Netherlands so where can I buy a binder?
If you find a reputable binder company. Measure yourself properly. Use their sizing guide and up to 8 hrs a max a day you should be good. If your going to be doing any form of exercising. Then go a size up. Binders can be expensive tho, about £30 upwards (for a decent one from a rep company). Have you tried sports bra's or minimiser bra? Where to get one, in the netherlands? No idea. May be worth asking on your local social LGBTQIA+ media groups. Good luck!
Im Bigender,im feeling dysphoric about some parts of my body;so I bought a binder online, its not from amazon or some other shops mentioned in this video, its from shopee.i really hope the size i chose fits perfectly to me and comfortably
I only want to wear a binder because I get really nervous when I just see my chest jumping here and there I just feel weird and always thinks someone might judge or look at me at a way that I find uncomfortable.
a regular binder is actually made to bind. ace bandages are used to compress injuries so that they wouldn't swell, and it's not safe to use that on your chest; it hurts, it just isn't as effective, and it can cause long term damage to your chest.
I wore a binder that didn't even fit me, it was borrowed from a friend, and I wore it for 11 hours straight, now my ribs hurt. I knew about the risks but didn't care
my mom seems to be okay with the idea, i told her i dont want padded bras and dont want to bring attention to my chest/boobs. I havent told her i want a binder tho. Im currently using a strapless bra without the padding, and ilove how much flatter my chest looks.
Very much doubt it. And i wish that you didn't do it. But if you have to do it. Stick to the 8 hrs max. Any signs of physical discomfort then remove the bra's. Have you thought of sports compression tops or minimiser bra's? Baggy layers and multi tops. A friend of Ray's bought him his first binder when he was in secondary school or was it sixth form???hummm can't remember. Just keep an eye on sales that binder companies do. Does your mum know that your trans/nb/gender fluid? Or is she just worried that it may cause long term damage?
@@shadowtory22 :'( I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully she will wake up one day and realize that gender is not that simple and is actually very complex. That in time there will be a lot more scientific evidence to prove it. There is some evidence in regards to brain scans and something else in regards to part of the brain or dna that occurs at conception. And DNA itself is not that simple it's a lot more complex then the XX and XY.Just remember that there are charities out that that can give parents information on being gender fluid etc. If your old enough and when covid is over. Would you consider getting a saturday job and save up the money to buy your binder? But have it delivered to someone you trust. In the future when your older, remember that blood doesn't make a family. Family can be whoever you want them to be. Ray has 2 families. He has his home family which consist of me, his dad and his 2 siblings. Plus the two demons dogs. And at uni he has his partner, and a wide group of friends. Some that he refers to as family members as he call's one his dad. He has a fb friend an ex colleague that he calls mum. Just stay strong and positive. Mum ordered me one off amazon after literally a massive argument that me being trans was stabbing her in the back. It probably ain’t the right size I ain’t a clue and it don’t feel like it works
I hope you and your mum is doing better. Fights are the worst and remember to drink water. ☺️
I’m sorry to hear that, hun. Try to give her some time, but stay true to yourself. You are who you are and that’s great.

Thank you 🥰
Amazon binders aren't safe
Thank you for this. I'm Non-binary and my binder is finally coming in this week!
Take it easy at first and stick to the guidelines. Good luck!!
Has it arrived yet and how are you doing wearing it?
Personally I can't afford one but I got my friends old Amazon one it like a lage tho I'm a xs im using sewing pins so it fits me lol
I guess thats where I went wrong, I bought mine from Amazon and I hate it so I guess I have to get a new one without my parents knowing yayy~ 😞
Spectrum outfitters if your in the UK are having a free giveaway at the moment. Also if you have got a good friend or neigbour that can buy it for you and you give them the money. So it gets sent to their house.
if you still need help i think I can help:)
I love my friends so so much
How do you define “queer phobic”?
@miles ღ same-gender relationships? You mean same-sex relationships?
(Paragraph about unasked venting warning!)
I’m not sure of my sexuality or gender as far as I’m concerned, but for the longest time, I REALLY wanted to flat out my chest. I’m not comfortable with my chest size, and I rather be flat chested than to be with big breasts
Who you are doesn't matter in regards to wearing a binder. There have been cis people on here wanting advice about binders. Just look after your health as big breast can cause a lot of issues
X2
same, flat chest felt comfortable for some reason
I’m just wearing an extra small sports bra
Lol
dont hurt yourself tho!!!!
@curious little raindrop
I only wear it for 1-6 hours
HA I DO THAT-
I do that
on a birthday party of my friend i was experiencing dysphoria and my non binary friend offered to buy me one (my parents r transphobic) and im so nervous
Loving the fact that it sounds like you have got an amazing friend. Feeling sad that your parents are like that. Sending you a virtual mum hug.
Col i met them for the first time a few days ago, I rly never expected them to buy it for me but yesss they’re very loving they’re the best ever
i was extremely nervous too when my friend offered to get me one. at the time i was binding with ace bandages and when i went into a bathroom stall to put that binder on for the first time it felt illegal to breathe but i was so relieved with it :]
I just got mine today and my mom doesn’t know anything about it and we also have a bad relationship between us so I hope she doesn’t find out 🤠💃
I thought i posted a reply to this? Not showing up. So don't do what Ray did and that is leave it in the bathroom. At the time i didn't know Ray was trans, I thought it was because he was self conscious as he is big chested.
How are things?
@@col795 Well in general things are going alright but imma wait until i know for sure that my mother is supportive
I can't afford one sadly. I cry a lot because of the dysphoria of my chest. But seeing others be able to bind and feel better in their bodies always brings my spirits up. ❤
Point of pride charity and trans Santa on Instagram may be helpful. Sending you hugs as it hurts that your crying.
If it doesn't make you feel really uncomfortable, you might find it comfortable.
Great job! Thank you for making sure we stay safe :)
I just bought my first binder yesterday. It will be here soon. I watched this 4-5 years ago. I can't believe I'm looking for tips.
Gc2b doesn’t stretch in the front so i’ve never been able yo use them i use underworks
did you measure tho..
underworks is a good make as well
@curious little raindrop Why do you feel that you made the wrong choice? There is no set time limit on who you want to be inside. You can take all the time in the world to decide. You can be gender fluid. Clothes and make up have no gender. I have changed my profile picture. So that you can see Ray wearing make up and some fluffy thing round his neck. He's wearing a jacket as i think he may of gotten bollocked by the vice president of his uni's LGBTQIA+ society as he's covering up a 'homemade' t-shirt that says "you're not gender critical your a cunt!" on it!!!!!This is at trans pride event. Have you read about this guy? www.boredpanda.com/confident-man-wears-heels-skirt-markbryan911/?
I ordered my first binder ever on Christmas and it’s coming next week or the one after so this is really helpful! I’m a little stressed though because I’m scared people might notice 😭
Thank you for this! My friends bought me a binder for Christmas and it came today :D
Love reading posts like this. Just carefully work up to the 8 hr max. And congrats
As a trans boy, I love this 😂
i just bought my first binder and im really excited for it to come!!
its from gc2b btw!
ooohohhhhh good luck and let us know how you do with it.
why did i click on this video thinking it was about binders you use in school to hold papers 💀💀
Me who was about to sleep in my binder but making sure it’s safe 👁👄👁
There's no safe way to sleep in a binder I'm afraid dude. It's the only time your body gets a rest from the binder if your wareing it daily
I’m still financially dependent on my parents so I don’t want to make them angry since they are paying for my college education.
@@NatureLover-pj2qe Make sure that each time you use your computer that you clean your history of anything trans related. My fave saying apart from "fuck a duck!" is 'cover your arse!!!' So i don't know how long you have got left at college as the UK is different. But you have got to prepare yourself for a worse case scenario. Hopefully you never have to use it. But the information that you find out could help someone else. So finance aid, healthcare, a room, part time jobs. Any LGBTQIA+ charities that can offer support. A burner phone. If your bank account is anyway linked to your parents then a different bank account. If they are paying for your car, then access to a friend car or know your bus routes(Sorry, i like to read m/m romance books and get ting most of my ideas from them). How to remove oneself from 'the sperm and egg' so that one can get the finance support. Set up a contact tree (is that what you usa lot call it?) Tighten up all your social media. But also keep your head down and concentrate on your studies (i know its hard- with covid and being at home, lack of support and understanding) . Any way what are you studying and hoping to do after college. Or you have no idea yet?
@@col795 Thanks for the advice. I am currently majoring in environmental engineering and when I’m done with college I want to work for an environmental firm to improve air and water quality. I have 3 years left of college since I am pursuing a masters degree.

Ahaha
So proud of you my sonxxx
My mom thinks it would give me cancer if I wore one. I’m not out yet, I had one but my mom found out and she took it away from me. It was one of the worst days of my life.
oh bloody hell seriously? It doesn't. "Binding and Breast Cancer
There is no evidence to suggest that chest binding increases the risk of breast cancer.
UPDATE, I got another binder, I was trying my best but my mom was moving the collar of my shirt and then saw my binder, she dug through my room, found all of my binders and tighter sports bras and cut them up
My mom says that if I do research, and as long as it's safe (and as long as I take the right precautions), she'll get me a binder 🥺
I need to buy a better binder, because yes, I did end up buying mine off Amazon because I didn't do any prior research
@@noahahaustin8892 Hi, they could be from the UK. So spectrum outfitters and the europe version of GC2B. But thank you so much for helping.
my cousin said she wants to buy me a binder and honestly i just broke down in tears she's so sweet
Love ❤️❤️❤️ comments like yours. Your cousin sounds the best. Hold on to her.
Gc2b is so gooddd
This reminds me of how the Chinese tied up girls feet for esthetic reasons.
Maybe visit a psychologist or a body therapist and talk to your friends and family to get more comfortable in your own body before buying a binder.
Your body are ment to breathe freely.
A binder should only be a contemporary crutch until you learn to love your body as it is and I'm convinced that everyone can do that with support from ones love ones❤
I had no idea this even existed. This was super interesting to watch.
Nnekas voice is so calming
2:46 I never put 2 and 2 together that upper body workouts could help with this, thank you!
I’ve bought a binder from Amazon
Thoran EH lol yep
Is it good? Lmao
The only brand you should buy on amazon is underworks
My gc2b binder came today and I couldn't be happier
I've just bought my first binder, got it today. Unfortunately the fabrics is quite uncomfortable for me, but it does work well. Next time I'll pay more attention to sort of fabrics the maker uses.
I came out to my friend that I’m trans or gender fluid and she was so freaking supportive and said she’s gonna buy me a binder… some days later she actually got one for me 😭 I feel so bad but she said it’s for my birthday that she missed… love her and as for my parents, they already know but… I don’t feel as comfortable yet to tell them I want a binder even though they are very supportive
And thank god she bought one for herself 😌✊
Me who just bought a binder off amazon: 👁👄👁
im genderfluid, and I cant get my hands on a binder (don't really wanna explain it to my parents) so Im just using sports bras as a substitute, but seeing all these comments about people getting their binders just make me really happy :))) Stay strong all you queer folks :))
Apparently (as of 2022-2023) GC2B has caused bruising and harm when binding! Please bind safely and research the companies before buying!
I just got my first binder today!! :)

@@col795 yes ive had it for about 2 weeks now and im very happy
just a question, do you think i could bind at school? i know for pe i should take it off, but what about a regular 8 hour school day? Is it okay?
Yes :) if you take some days off for eyample at the weekend it should be safe (if it doesn‘t hurt)
i got my first binder today (im 12) and i just want to see the safety precautions of it
If I have one with clips that has enough room for my chest and it's on one clip and it's the loosest one will I be ok?
Thank you! I didn't know there were specific binders for swimming. I'm totally going to find those.
You can use a binder that is a size up for swimming.
@@col795 really? Just like that? I thought it should be a specific fabric so it doesn't get damaged with the salt or the chlorine (depending if you swim in the sea or in a swimming pool).
@@LluviaSelenita I double checked and both gc2b and spectrum outfitters are both suitable for swimming. Just use a size up and only use that binder for swimming. Any concerns check their FAQ first and it you still have concerns just email them. Or ask the question on their social media pages. As that way your more likely to get replies from other users. Maybe even tips on how to take it off after you been swimming etc.
@@col795 awesome. Thanks a lot for your help. I'll follow your advice.
Yes a little is okay
I am a trans boy I'm going to be getting a binder soon, I wanted to watch this because I needed to know how to bind safely because I don't wanna cause damage
So how's it going?

I'ma try and get it ordered in the next few days but after that, it's still gonna be a week or twp
Just a heads up if anyone is going private for top surgery. Nuffield Health in Brighton has apparently upped their prices by 3k at least. Hoping that will see sense and lower them back down so fingers crossed.

How does it work? like does it perm bind your chest the more you use it? or does it just hold it down
Thank you
man my future self will bind their chest. although i recently identified as non-binary, i wouldn’t come out to my parents until the late future since i would never want to find out that my parents are actually lgbtqphobic right now. but this video is useful! thank you ❤️❤️
Heres hoping that when you do come out, your parents will surprise you. Until then stay safe.
I’m watching videos on how to bind safely even though my parents won’t let me get a binder 😃

If it feels a bit tight, is that means it working or something is wrong?
I have just got my 1 binder today and I love it and this video has helped me lots!
Good luck!

I only want to wear a binder because I get really nervous when I just see my chest jumping here and there I just feel weird and always thinks someone might judge or look at me at a way that I find uncomfortable.
Sending hugs as its not a nice feeling
I don’t get it. What’s the difference between using a regular binder and using an Ace Bandage?
a regular binder is actually made to bind. ace bandages are used to compress injuries so that they wouldn't swell, and it's not safe to use that on your chest; it hurts, it just isn't as effective, and it can cause long term damage to your chest.
@@loudespierre5680 thanks Lola for helping Claire out.

I bought a binder and it doesn't really bind my chest. I feel worse than i did before now..
I wore a binder that didn't even fit me, it was borrowed from a friend, and I wore it for 11 hours straight, now my ribs hurt. I knew about the risks but didn't care
I’ve been doing that, wearing mine for 10+ hours, and 6 months later it hurts to breathe. Always.
my mom seems to be okay with the idea, i told her i dont want padded bras and dont want to bring attention to my chest/boobs. I havent told her i want a binder tho. Im currently using a strapless bra without the padding, and ilove how much flatter my chest looks.
That's good that your mum seems ok with you being your true self.
Is binding with two old sport bras safe? Considering that's my only way to bind since my mom won't get me a binder.
I've told my mom I'm gender fluid but she keeps telling me I was born a girl and always be a girl
