    Waterfalls are one of the Smoky Mountains most prominent features. Over 100 prominent cascades and waterfalls can be found in the park, and this podcast showcases some of those places.

    I am a native of Blount County, Tennessee and I cannot you how terribly home sick I get some days and hunger for the Smokies. Videos like this one let me 'travel home' from time to time, and thank you so much for taking the time to post it. This poem by Robert Burns is never far from my thoughts:
    My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
    My heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;
    Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe,
    My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.

    I have hiked to many of the waterfalls in the park. In the fall as the leaves change I can sit and watch Abrams falls for hours while I decompress from the daily stress of life. Thank you for the video.

    Thank you for the incredible footage. It is one of my favorite place to decompress and commune with Mother Nature. And one of my top three National Parks.

    Beautiful! I'm in the Smokies with several friends this week, and the waterfalls & cascades, flowers, and the chance to see bears, deer, turkeys, etc. in the wild keep bringing me back.
    I've never seen waterfalls in time-lapse before. Very interesting.

    If you like waterfalls in the Smokies you should go down to Cherokee and see Mingo Falls. Its the tallest though its on the reservation and not actually in the Park. Its a very short, but very steep hike up a hillside. We always get subway sandwiches and sit at the bottom enjoying the view.
