Liberals are screaming in excitement and motivated to vote, but they're trading the far left liberals for moderates, like they when they chose Hillary. I was a Republican who opposed Trump from the start, so basically, I'm a conservative without a party. I supported Biden, but now I don't think I can do anything but stay home. I would have been fine with a senile president as Harris as the vice president, and maybe, eventually, president, though. For me, there are two candidates that I'm even less interested in. This changes everything for me, too, but in the wrong direction. It's just another bypass of the democratic process. We get two choices, and not from the full population of qualified Americans. Democrats didn't even elect Harris. In fact, she bombed when she originally ran for president.

That is certainly a risk, but it is one worth taking, considering how poorly Biden was faring against Trump and the unlikelihood that would change.
I agree that there should have been a real primary. Biden should have dropped out a year ago at the earliest, and Democratic party affiliates were foolish not to push back on his ill-advised decision to remain in for so long.
Kamala certainly has her weaknesses and risks as a candidate. But at least now there is more of a fighting chance to put Trumpism aside or at least keep it on the margins or at bay for the foreseeable future. Biden was only gong in one direction and it wasn't a positive one.
