I’m guessing the lovely diagram on the first page of his clipboard is to help him understand what part of the body will be most broken because there are no hand rails.
@@Bllueit seems you are partially wrong. in order aerodynamics to take effect on an object, it requires an atmosphere. materials such as fabric or objects like paper plates fall slowly when flat with gravity but fast when tilted 90° is because the air when they both are vertical has to travel through the medium of styrofoam or fabric, causing a strainer-like effect to happen with the air, thus causing air density to increase at the entrance of the medium, and decrease at the exit point. the object also will fall slower. this is called drag, and is one of the main effects of aerodynamics. if you drop an light object (like a plane wing or even a 1kg panel) at a 45° tilt from pointing upwards however, in a theoretically 100% stable atmosphere without imperfection (ours is the normal amount of unstable and causes actions to be non-reproducable), it would start to drift in the direction it tilts. much like the strainer effect that fabric or styrofoam have when moving in air, the air density increases at the points of the object where the angle of air hitting the object (or the other way around) is nearly 0°. this will cause the object to drift and rotate to get to a point of equilibrium in air density. this phenomenon is called air resistance, and we use it for things like planes and aircraft. to end my reasoning, the reason a glider could not work in space is because due to there not being any atmosphere for it to glide in, it can not have air resistance nor drag applied. gravity is only a force that pulls things, and is a seperated concept from aerodynamic properties, even though things like paragliders use gravity for their purpose. a fun experiment to do to better understand the way air resistance and drag works is by getting a piece of fabric you don't really care for, or a styrofoam plate, and swishing it around in water. on an aerodynamic level, gas and liquid are very similar and so you will feel resistance as would be found in air, except greatly amplified (fun fact, we use water resistance and our buoyancy from fat and other things in our body to swim! i still don't know how to swim despite the knowledge, however). if you have a big tub of water, dropping an object that can sink in it at a tilted angle will cause it to fall in the water towards the angle it tilted, like a wing panel in air. cool thing i would have added but didn't have anywhere to put it, the medium of air could be replaced with really any gas or liquid, as long as it doesn't have a volatile or destructive reaction with the material in it in case a random individual in the future says "i ain't readin allat", basically if you have understanding of air resistance you will know why a glider wouldn't work in space. i only explained it thoroughly since i thought it would be fun, and semi-educational
