The soundtrack of my childhood begins with the GBA version at 2:41 and ends with Double Dash on the GameCube. I played the Wii version but I wasn't a child anymore. Man when I see all these comments saying their childhood was on DS and Wii I feel old 👴
They remade the N64 track in Mariokart 8 so beautifully. The remastered orchestral score, the lighting/colours and the view of the city below makes me so happy.
The original might be nostalgic to some people but personally I find it to look so ugly. It’s the worst Rainbow Road, imo. The remaster however? It’s my favorite, next to the Wii/3DS one. The MK8 N64 Rainbow Road is absolutely GORGEOUS and I love the steampunk edition SO MUCH. Definitely the best Rainbow Road thus far.

Those were the 2 MK games i grew up with. I didn't have a wii myself, but my best friends had one so i always went there to play mario kart with them. I did have DS though, and buying a new one after it broke a few years ago was the best decision i could probably make.
Double Dash had some good tracks, but Mario Kart DS is when they got amazing at making tracks. Then they got the gameplay part down with Wii and improved it with 7 and especially with 8, which feels like the perfect Mario Kart game. Track-wise DS was revolutionary, gameplay-wise Wii was revolutionary.

For me nothing quite catches the magic of 64 rainbow road. I love how the characters faces light up like neon lights and the music, my god the music. Dreamlike.

Rainbow Road 64 will always have a special place in my heart. The music combined with the neon outlines of all the characters felt magical as a kid. Seeing the remake of it for MK8 was a clear loveletter to the fans and brought me joy.
I first got this game when I was 8 so it’s not necessarily my childhood but it’s part of it. And it’s my favorite cuz I love music and this is my favorite mix

No he jugado muchos de los mario kart pero por lo que vi este es mi top: 5:mk8d, en esto no estoy de acuerdo con otros porque el hecho de que haya una parte que no sea parte de la pista o se siente muy artificial conducir por una estación espacial, pero la música me hace sentir fuera del planeta y por eso no está más abajo 4:mkds, buen diseño, me encantaría competir ahí, pero la música la pudieron haber hecho mejor 3:mkwii, buen diseño, una pista tranquila pero a la vez movida, y la música... por el hecho que esté un pedazo de gusty garden me hace recordar mucho a mi infancia jugando súper Mario galaxy 2:mk64, diseño movido, me gusta la accion y las curvas difíciles, la música, no tengo que hablar mucho, temazo, una música que te tranquiliza muy fácilmente 1:mk7, que puedo decir, un diseño diferente a los demás, no solo conduces en una senda, también en los anillos de Saturno y en la luna, se que suena contradictorio porque dije que conducir en una estación espacial se me hacía incómodo pero bueno... ...la... ...música... espectacular. All Time Favorite: MK3DS. The gliding is what made this track so much fun, gliding onto and from Saturn was so cool. The ramp/tunnel on the final lap still gets my adrenaline going (can't tell you how many times I was neck and neck with a Japanese player, and actually pulled ahead) Most Nostalgic: MKDS. This was one of the first games I owned myself, when I first got a ds lite (was in 1st grade I believe iirc). I remember having tournaments with the other kids at my small school during the early morning care, and having so much fun playing against shy guys, poltergust 4000's, cheep cheep beach, block fortress, etc. Most Intense/Engaging: MKWii. The first few seconds of this rainbow road is why this is such an intense course. The very first time I played it, I actually wondered where the course was, since it just went straight and then just stopped. I remember just gunning it, racing to the edge, and having an "Oh Crap" moment as I crested at the wrong angle and was now about to go flying off the edge of the track and plummet down to earth. Most Overused/Bland: MKSNES. Why is Nintendo so obsessed with this map? It's literally just a monopoly board where you occasionally make a left turn towards community chest and have whomps as obstacles. Most Missed Potential: MK8/8DX. Why can't it combine all of the things that made the last few Rainbow Roads so great? At least the remake of N64 RR managed to recover what was dropped by the new one.
You gotta agree with me, Mario kart wiis rainbow road is literally the best rainbow road in the entire series, cmon now Edit: mk, I take back what I said, Mario kart 7 is better
They are both my favourites. But Wii have way much more Nostalgie to me. So much memories. 7 Made fun and is amazing but i don't have many memories with that.

I haven’t heard much love for DD’s Rainbow Road. I love that one. I also wish they’d bring back DS’s Rainbow Road. I never had MK: DS but that Rainbow Road looks awesome.
I love how much heart they put into the DS RR. The sounds when you go through the rings, when you grind against the road, hitting the side... Being able to fall off the loop-de-loop from a banana peel... Just 150cc Yoshi egg 1. It fills me with joy.
Y'all. I can't be the only one who notices so many similarities in MK8 and MKW Rainbow Road. EDIT: That ain't a bad thing. MKW has the best Rainbow Road IMO, so if anything, MK8 serves as a nice tribute.
I love the vids but I think you should put which game version with the year on the bottom or something like usual compilations do it would make it better but other than that love it you still earned my subscription
I personally think Mario Kart 7 has the best rainbow road track in front of MKWii because it is the most nostalgic and is more then just a rainbow road. But just like Mario Kart 8, it just was mostly a space ship but I like what they did. In MK7 you get to drive on the rings of Saturn, on the moon, and on floating asteroids. That’s why MK7 is the best rainbow road

No he jugado muchos de los mario kart pero por lo que vi este es mi top:
5:mk8d, en esto no estoy de acuerdo con otros porque el hecho de que haya una parte que no sea parte de la pista o se siente muy artificial conducir por una estación espacial, pero la música me hace sentir fuera del planeta y por eso no está más abajo
4:mkds, buen diseño, me encantaría competir ahí, pero la música la pudieron haber hecho mejor
3:mkwii, buen diseño, una pista tranquila pero a la vez movida, y la música... por el hecho que esté un pedazo de gusty garden me hace recordar mucho a mi infancia jugando súper Mario galaxy
2:mk64, diseño movido, me gusta la accion y las curvas difíciles, la música, no tengo que hablar mucho, temazo, una música que te tranquiliza muy fácilmente
1:mk7, que puedo decir, un diseño diferente a los demás, no solo conduces en una senda, también en los anillos de Saturno y en la luna, se que suena contradictorio porque dije que conducir en una estación espacial se me hacía incómodo pero bueno... ...la...

All Time Favorite: MK3DS. The gliding is what made this track so much fun, gliding onto and from Saturn was so cool. The ramp/tunnel on the final lap still gets my adrenaline going (can't tell you how many times I was neck and neck with a Japanese player, and actually pulled ahead)
Most Nostalgic: MKDS. This was one of the first games I owned myself, when I first got a ds lite (was in 1st grade I believe iirc). I remember having tournaments with the other kids at my small school during the early morning care, and having so much fun playing against shy guys, poltergust 4000's, cheep cheep beach, block fortress, etc.
Most Intense/Engaging: MKWii. The first few seconds of this rainbow road is why this is such an intense course. The very first time I played it, I actually wondered where the course was, since it just went straight and then just stopped. I remember just gunning it, racing to the edge, and having an "Oh Crap" moment as I crested at the wrong angle and was now about to go flying off the edge of the track and plummet down to earth.
Most Overused/Bland: MKSNES. Why is Nintendo so obsessed with this map? It's literally just a monopoly board where you occasionally make a left turn towards community chest and have whomps as obstacles.
Most Missed Potential: MK8/8DX. Why can't it combine all of the things that made the last few Rainbow Roads so great? At least the remake of N64 RR managed to recover what was dropped by the new one.

I personally think Mario Kart 7 has the best rainbow road track in front of MKWii because it is the most nostalgic and is more then just a rainbow road. But just like Mario Kart 8, it just was mostly a space ship but I like what they did. In MK7 you get to drive on the rings of Saturn, on the moon, and on floating asteroids. That’s why MK7 is the best rainbow road
