gooey from dreamland 3 is actually a reject dark-matter.
Hes still the derp of the group and i love em for that
Theres also the idea that its always the same dark-matter remanifiested somehow, Its starts with Dark Matter Then he becomes Zero (KDL3) Then Zero-Two (K64)
Pixelated Perfection I remember, I was playing Dreamland 3, and he just kept destroying everything that would let the first level end with a happy flower, I hated him after that.
Yep. Star allies, Mock matter.
More like a reject Dragon Quest Slime.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think that "random waddle dee" eventually became Bandana waddle dee.
Neil Divins I think too
Bandanna dee
OR was just bandanna waddledee without his bandanna
Because you know
Bandana waddle dees first appearance was in superstar before (or maybe a bit after if after then yah probably)
@@miletilblight2181 According to what I heard... no, it's not Bandana Waddle Dee.
However, when Bandana Waddle Dee appears in Return to Dream Land in his first main role (he only appeared in the Megaton Punch sub-game in Super Star and Super Star Ultra, though in the latter he's also an advisor for King Dedede in Revenge of the King and Waddle Dee's replacement for a boss in the Arena), he's only called Waddle Dee. He's called Bandana Waddle Dee in the other games, where he appears in an Adeline-like role of giving items prior boss battles.
Also, given that it last appeared in Battle Royale, Bandana Dee is the only one who can use Spear attacks in Star Allies, as the ability stopped appearing in Battle Royale.
I think maybe, but there's also a bandana waddle dee in the masked dedede fight.
Can we agree to call the waddle dees in boats paddle dees
Yes
+Gene Daniel Hmm
Makes sense
Shut up and take my money!
Aqua Marine yup
*gasp* YES!
Waddle dee is the only enemy in gaming that is so cute, innocent, and full of life that I never want to hurt them. I honestly think its a shame you get hurt by them! I love how epic yarn made them obstacles instead of enemies, and just that little squeak when then fall on their faces is adorable! I died a little every time I had to kill one in triple deluxe with the hypernova. But I have no remorse for those bug wannabes. Screw stigmatism, I say waddle dee is the best Kirby character by far. Now I just need a plush bandana dee and my life will be complete..
omg MOOD. In Epic Yarn they were actually so precious... remember the pair sleeping peacefully under a tree? Awwwww...
i know i am late, but i remember that in the anime they explain how waddle dees eat. They just phase it through where the mouth would be and munch. Like cells...
They are evil demons from hell
Did you get the waddle Dee pushie?
@@Amparito847 no, have never found one. My life still has a goal

I think one of the reasons Dreamland 3 isn't thought up much because it came in in 1997 where at that point people where focused on N64 games.
CrystalMoonStar Maybe that was the last SNES game made by Nintendo.
Yeah. When the SNES was on life support
@@liammcnicholas918 it was!
I think it is also way too slow
I thought the same. Was one of the last SNES games so it probably didn’t do as well despite being one of the best SNES games aesthetically.
6:12 Kirby's Dreamland 3? Rated E! Super Smash Bros Brawl? Rated T!
Garytina Kirby is Rated E. Melee is Rated T.
why
It's silly ain't it?
Kirby. Rated E for EEE! That’s scary!
Garytina because taboo killed master hand, blood and all
Michael Rhett
Nice reference
4:20 I love the faces they all make when you choose someone else than them. It makes it so much harder to pick.
There's also the fact that in Kirby 64 if you inhale an enemy but instead of swallowing you (if I remember right) press the discard ability button, Kirby will hold the enemy over his head, with some enemies actually doing things that kinda work like unique powers. I think holding one of the flying enemies gives you the ability to fly or glide or something.
It isn't necessarily useful, but I thought it was kinda neat.
It's very useful in the Acro Fight cause Fishbones keep firing their heads at him to do damage.
Wait WHAT!? You can do that?
excuse me what the fuck
"Freeze all the Metroids for Samus."
... Wait, what?
Can I just say that 0 and 02 are great? Bloody, memorable, and imposing. They also have great music themes.
0 needs to come back.
Hell yeah!!
zero fuckin died
@blu for a second i was like "wait 0 was in the anime-" and then i realised
@blu ik, im aware now but at first i thought you were talking about the kirby anime
N. O. No.
Oh and also, that explosion at 8:04 is just beautiful.
Truly bootyful.
"this is the last one in the Kirby marathon." oh, he was so clueless of what would happen
Kirby Dream Land 1: Game Boy
Kirby Dream Land 2: Game Boy
Kirby Dream Land 3: Super Nintendo
y tho
because of the booty call
That One Awkward Guy cuz the advance or color was not out
That One Awkward Guy iiiiiii
I know, right? I would have loved to have a Game Boy equivalent to go along with one and two. I tried to see if development started on the Game Boy, but I couldn't find anything.
I think it was because of the success of Kirby Super Star.
Honestly, I think Crystal Shards has my very favorite Kirby Soundtrack.
EDIT: Hey, I'm from the future! People _DO_ care about Dream Land 3! There's a lotta references in our new Kirby game! ...Is what I *_WOULD_* say, if I were a time traveler.
Can't believe you came here just to update your comment ☺
The 'fake' final boss has my favorite song in the game, it's more serious and plain awesome
In Kirby 64, the destructible objects that hide the crystal shards are actually color coded. They're colored to match the stars of the abilities you need in order to break them. For example, the blue and black one you showed in the video can be broken by a combination of ice and bomb.
Metroids in freaking Kirby?! Next you'll be telling there's Slicers in Shantae...
Paul Dunbar well there making a rpg game about mario (jump man) from nintendo and rabbits from ubisoft so....ya srry to break it to ya :(
Paul Dunbar There's Metroids in Kid Icarus Uprising too, sorta. Pit even comments on them looking like Metroids, then Viridi gets angry at him about it! XD Her words breaks the fourth wall, as she comments that the game she's in has nothing to do with the game Metroids come from! I am amused by Kid Icarus Uprising due to how often it breaks the 4th Wall! XD
Captain America - I Understood that reference.
I honestly think Dreamland 3 might be the most under-rated Kirby game. Not trying to be a hipster. Also, how the hell is Crystal Shards under-rated? Everyone talks about that one.
Since Kirby's sorta been reborn since Epic Yarn and Return to Dream Land, I've seen Kirby 64 be placed similarly to Dream Land 2. Not a game people forget about, but a game people go "Oooh yea! That game!" Dream Land 3 is totally forgotten though, sadly lol.
***** Dreamland 3 was actually one of my childhood games, but sadly I never finished it... drats.
***** wow
***** thats

Dreamland 3 is one of my favourite games of all time
kirby's dream land 3 has the BEST soundtrack out of any pre-yarn kirby game. that's practically indisputable and yet nobody ever talks about it.
honestly kirby's dreamland 3 was my most favorite kirby game, mostly due to my emotional attachment because me and my mom would play kirby's 20th ann on the wii. unfortunately we had to stop playing it because she had sight issues as well as her being easily epileptic, she couldn't move closer to the tv because she was bedridden. i beat dreamland 3 around the time she passed away only at age 35, i beat the game in memory of her and because i had a joy with the game. crystal shards for the same reasons.
Something else worth about mentioning about Dream Land 3, since we now live in an era ruled under the tyrannical iron fist of the Internet, Dream Land 3's rating apparently got bumped up when it was rereleased on the virtual console because Zero and all his blood-happy creepiness is now common knowledge among Kirby fans.
The E10+ rating didn't exist when Dream Land 3 and Crystal Shards were originally released. I know for a fact that Dream Collection got an E10+ rating instead of an E rating because of these two games.
You damn right. :3
@@tylerlarsen1842 On one hand the E10+ rating is pretty stupid. Like, as if I'm gonna stop my kid from playing something because it's reserved for 10 year olds. But on the other hand, if it can help me find more media for my offspring like kirby that you can't help but have fond memories of, including a little getting scarred for life, then it's pretty useful.
I don't know about you all, but creepy stuff like kirby final bosses, courage the cowardly dog, and majora's mask as a whole, i.e. the stuff that's not horror but can get under your skin, were the best parts of my childhood and I'm sad there's so little of it for modern generations. Fear and uncanniness is such a great emotion, and small doses of it like this make for truly treasurable memories.
Dreamland 3 needs more love. It's a fun game with a beautiful art style . The animal partners are great too.
💖💝
@@cheesecakebunny2002 no.the art style is ugly
I'm sad to see Sonic Advance in that void. I loved that game :c
It started a trend for the handheld Nintendo sonic games, like sonic rush
I need that game again!
There's actually 3 Sonic Advance games
Megaman 5 too...
The handheld Sonic games aren’t very well known
actually dreamland 3 is my favorite. something about its...softness, set a nice effect to it and it was smooth. movement was fluid and the music was memorable. I didn't play it when it came out but when I did, I just enjoyed myself and played it over and over again. it's kinda perfect. not too easy, not to hard
The running joke of “oh ya know. Kirby: for kids!” will always be funny
8:04 Watch out. You're gonna crash. AH!
Dream Land 3 is a great game. I honestly enjoy it just as much as Super Star on SNES. The soundtrack is amazing, the animal buddies are so fun to use, the cute factor is off the charts, the graphics are beautiful, there’s a lot of replay value with the heart stars. It’s just such a great game. I don’t know why nobody talks about it
Parts that made me laugh my ass off.
1: Waddle Dee boat rowing
2: Groose
3 Napalm Ribbon Missile.
I believe the term you were looking for to describe Klonoa and Kirby 64 with the 3D levels that have 2D side-scrolling would be 2.5D.
Anyway, this was a great series! Can't wait to see what you do next!
TWO POINT FIVE DEEEE!
I like the term pseudo-3D
ZorroDood Wouldn't Pseudo-3D be a 2D game that looks 3D? Like Super Mario RPG?
SuperGhostbuster Or Mode7 games, like Pilotwings, Super Mario Kart and F-Zero.
TheFlyingCule Yes...so much yes...
Definitely your best editing yet and a pretty darn good review as well.

Yeah it is!
I meant not bing kirby 64
Well, i hope in the future you do your best, oh and if you do the spin-off kirby games, start with Canvas curse and Air ride, as those are the spin-offs us kirby fans remember for the most part. ( The super nintendo ones were just like there)
You should do a pacman world marathon!
On an unrelated note, when I first watched Antdude, I legitimately thought he was an ant enthusiast.
Dream Land 3 has my favorite soundtrack. I'm surprised this game didn't get as much love.
Maybe they're like me and never figured out what to do with the giant animals.
...I still don't know how to use them. I've tried jumping on them, pressing up, etc.
Ok I know this is a year old comment, and you probably already figured it out by now, but you gotta press "X" when next to them to ride them! Took me a bit to figure out as a kid so I don't blame you for being confused
Dream land 3 master race
Nintendo's darkest series crossing over with Nintendo's most light-hearted series concerns me greatly.
MOTHER's darker than Metroid, I'd say.
@@KingdomHeartsBrawler And animal crossing is probably lighter than Kirby given there's no aboministic manifestations of Darkness, Evil, and Nightmares.

Also, I really like the idea of combining abilities and I hope it comes back someday, especially considering the cool abilities we have now like psy, ninja, mirror, and poison.
It is true. I sadly learned of him through the GBA games
Good thing we have Star Allies!
I barely heard of him. But I can see the similarites.
This was my first kirby game that I played when I was little! It was my uncle's and he helped me beat it when I was around 7! He gave me his snes and all the gameshe had when I moved away and I still play it every once in a while.

I AGREE
When I first found out about crystal shards, i instantly loved it. I love the idea of combining power ups and wish something like that would be done with the newer copy abilities too. It's totally underrated and deserves more love.
The sonic Advanced games were my shit
PLEASE TELL ME HOW DOES ONE RUclips HOW DOES ONE RUclips

7:32 "it feels like pants/trousers"
AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! CRYSTAL SHARDS IS MY FAVORITE KIRBY GAME. THEY NEED TO REMAKE IT.
Or a port. It was the only Kirby game and possibly only nintendo game I ever played but I loved it, especially shiver star. My teacher's son gave me his 64 and with it Majora's Mask, I think Banjo Kazooie and of course Kirby. Tried Mask but didn't care for it, I was very young. But eventually my mom donated it which is fine, someone else can enjoy it. Sadly though now I'll never be able to play it again as you need both the cart and console (nintendo dicks). But that's my story, too bad I never got to 100 it for the real ending, I only played it a few times, and the lava blob and robot bosses over and over before school. But yeah I always figured the 'bad' ending was just a cliffhanger for a sequel. It's too bad but that's my story

It was mostly because it was released in 1997. A year after the N64 had launched. Kirby's dreamland 3 is the last Nintendo published game for the SNES.
The final boss of Kirby: Squeak Squad is also a type of Dark Matter (according to the developers). In addition, the actual final boss of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is essentially a Dark Matter made from paint. (Don't care that these are spoilers. This is the internet).
Kirby 64 is one of my favorite games of all time! If not my favorite! God that game pretty much defined my childhood.
I'm not sure how you failed to figure out that the combo ability barriers are indicated by their colors.
Not all of them, but when he said there was no indication, I think he meant prior to encountering the barrier.
If you come across a Blue and Black block but you have the fire ability, you're kinda screwed and the game forces you to backtrack unless the abilities you need happen to be in the same room.
The implications of metroids existing in the Kirby games are terrifying... You've got a sentient black hole that can assimilate anything it eats, and a lifeform that can feed on energy in its most fundamental state from pretty much any source, organic or not. Kirby copying a metroid could be a potential universe-ending threat.
factory inspection is one of the sickest songs I've ever heard! great ost♡♡
Ribbon
For her neutral special she weilds GUN
Dream Land 3 has great Co-Op
Nice review! These are my favorite games in the series so I was weary to watch this (found it as a suggest video just now), but you were honest and fair. I never think about how bland a lot of the level designs are, but it's true. And it's also true that the sheer overwhelming cute charm of the games just keep me smiling and giggling like a dumb baby the entire time so I never notice the level design at all. KDL3 is my go-to game to unwind after a crappy day. I find the combination of graphics, music, and slow-ish gameplay to be one of the most immersive game experiences I've ever had.
Oh my god, Quiet Forest gives me the exact same feeling! Also my favourite stage in the game. And honestly, these two are my favourite Kirby games.
What a great way to end off the marathon. Because of that amazing ending, it's official. I'm bringing you into my Tomodachi Life once I get the game.
Matthew The Autism Guy remember when Tomadachi Life was a big deal?
11:09 Kirby 64: A *FAAAAAAAMILY* GAME!
I feel ya on the Kirby love. When I was a kid and we’d fly from the island to the mainland AK it was about a 30 minute flight give or take ; I’d always play my Kirby’s Dreamland on my OG Gray Gameboy and I’d finish it right before we landed. It never diminished in the fun, it was like a warm blanket of familiar.
Am i the only one that wants the 3D-2D style of Kirby 64 be brought back in more games? Mike thats so cool.
Believe it or not, Kirby's Dream Land 3 is actually the last SNES game to be released in North America.
TamaTomo Guy great last game on the SNES
FroakieTrainer54 Rockman & Forte (1998) was the great last game on SNES.

Ah, I got memories of Kirby 64. It was the second Kirby game I ever played, after the original Kirby's Dreamland. I remember hunting for all the crystal shards, feeling that rush of excitement whenever I hit upon the combo I needed. I got the false ending first, where you beat Miracle Matter without all the shards, and saw the possessed Queen's evil grin at the end. My gamer instincts told me to get all the Shards, and when I beat Miracle Matter again, imagine my delight when the ending changed and we got to fight the true final boss, 02. Also imagine my delight when at the end Ribbon kissed Kirby, making her the first official love interest in the franchise. Chuchu in Dreamland 3 was supposed to be that, but we never got outright romance like in 64. That right there made the ending so rewarding, and I looked forward to seeing Ribbon appear in future Kirby installements.
A mere 20 years later, she finally returned in Star Allies. Imagine my delight at seeing her finally come back. As part of Adeline's moveset, yes, but back all the same. Maybe someday, Ribbon will even be a fully playable character in her own right! An Air Ride sequel would be a great opportunity for that...
Wish Kirby's Dreamland 3 was on the SNES Classic.
You know what i find stupid. The fact that the crystal split into 74 shards instead of 64
Aww man, that Kirby 64 footage has really hit my nostalgia bone, I've been looking for a shot game to play in the weekend, maybe I'll return to dreamland and rediscover one of my favourite childhood gems!
Hmm, your videos of the ones I've watched so far are quite enjoyable! I like your sense of humor. I subscribed.
Kirby True Final bosses are always really fun.
2:34 There are... quite a lot of white/clear ones in there!
If there were any videos i feel Ant would go back and redo with all that he's learned, i think of all the videos it'd probably be some of his Kirby videos. And i would not be opposed to that, personally.

Nintendo needs to make another Kirby game with the same power up system of Kirby 64
+Herobrine Masher And have that system retain the multiple uses of various abilities since Super Star.

I'm not a huge fan of Kirby (got only 2 games) But Ant, your reviews are always so fun to watch! Kudos for the fire bird!
One thing I liked in Crystal Shards is you can pull out enemies you've inhaled and some of them are fun to carry around.
I definitely take KDL3 over Super Star because it gives the 2nd player some form of responsibility. That and I really love the levels. Super Star is amazing, but you can't go wrong with the original dream land story.
I really like kirby' dreamland 3 and 64... More than superstar personally...!
In fact, I do not hate any of the kirby games, I mean... How can you?!
The Scotty Gamer I agree the only ones I don't like is because I'm not a fan of the gimmick in the game
they are all so cute
The first Smash Bros was my first introduction to Kirby while Crystal Shards showed me just what a Kirby game was all about. Granted my brother was the one mainly playing Crystal Shards while I was watching him, but it still left quite an impression.
1:06 However Sonic Advance was remade for android in 2011 with the a new soundtrack formed by .mid files and a few tracks were replaced with new ones.
Aw.. No more kirby? MEET UP IN 2016.
he didn't mention that it's 2-player
There's something really neat that you might not have noticed about Kirby 64. You know how you can convert your powers into these spiky things you hold over your head and throw them at other enemies for the combo powers? Well, if you suck up an enemy but switch to the holding option instead of swallowing it, Kirby will end up carrying said enemy around on his head. And a lot of the enemies have their own special effects when held in this way, from dissolving into sand or slime to repeating their normal attacks (only this time it's to Kirby's benefit).
I love Kirby 64! Loved it as a kid, still love it now.

Super Star is better than this game imo. Heck I thought DL2 was better than DL3. Those mini games are so annoying, Kirby's sluggishness is so annoying, a bulk of the powers aren't great to use in this game because they attack in one specific way requiring you to constantly position yourself in the level. This game isn't underrated. It's just sequel to another game that doesn't really DRASTICALLY change anything DL2 established but just adds to it. So of course it doesn't stand out. Game has to be different in some way to stand out. KSS changed things up dramatically and with a lot of good results and memorable moments. That's why it's better remembered.
Dreamland 3 did have an excellent setting and ending tone. imo. The ending with Zero was surprisingly mature and had a great soundtrack. But, yes, gameplay wise it is probably one of the weakest entrys. RTD and Triple deluxe confirm this.
Agreed.
The thing that DL3 trumps every other Kirby game in is the Waddle Dees though
ExplodingPancakeOfAwesomeness What do mean?
***** I mean that the waddle dees have the best appearance in dl3
3:32 This kind of octopus is often called a dumbo octopus, and it is adorable. Look up videos of one!
I personally love Kirby's Dream Land 3, it was probably the one Kirby game that gives me nostalgia all the way through. The music reminds me so much of when I was younger at my grandmother's playing this with my sister. Too bad my cousin's took it (it was theirs though). While I have a huge love towards it, I can see why you think this game is just "there". Kirby 64 is the same idea. Huge nostalgia, but I can see it's not as good as I thought. Great review once again Anthony!
I'm sorry bro, but Kirby superstar is anything but overrated. It's much more fast paced, colorful, and just plays so much better than the slow clunky was of games like dreamland 3 and 64.
5:08 Thank God you can now cheese the Kirby's Dream Land 3 memorization mini-games by just opening up Switch Online SNES and rewinding the game 🤣
most tracks from Sonic 2 and 3 bring that strong nostalgia for me and also the tracks from spyro 2 and 3
Zero Two is Zero from Dreamland 3 brought back from the dead I think. I have no proof that he got brought back but when I think that it gives me chills when fighting the final boss.
you are really getting into your nitch for videos man, keep it up!
It's implied that dark matter is a form of void termina with revived with dark hearts and Kirby, and maybe gooey, are void termina with the light hearts that like the one that landed on Kirby.
Which means dark matter came back again in star allies.
The ending theme from Yoshi Story, and club 64 in toad town from Paper Mario are my nostalgia songs from video games.
The fridge is actually good, it has healing. Also the colour walls, to get crystals, the colours are the hints. Like for example, red and green would be fire, and cutter.
