This is how normal grown adults debate. People can tell when someone is trying to win the argument by getting loud and aggressive. They’ll say something like “dude how can you be that dumb?”
Ok…. Why don’t you explain why it’s so dumb? If it’s obvious, the person should get it once you explain it to them.
Patrick is a reasonable man. If he hears something that makes sense, he’s not gonna argue that isn’t right. Yet Antonio couldn’t do that.

Yes man THIS! This point right here! Yes! All the God given talent, son of Touchdown Eddie Brown, survives Liberty City Miami, puts in WORK n becomes greatness that's visible to anyone...and then the downfall. He can poof his chest out all he wants, repeat the same cliche inner city struggle (which making it out itself is a worthy accomplishment), but at the end of the day, it's so obvious SOMETHING is not clicking for him inside. He can't take any single criticism or fair question, and just wants to talk over everyone while saying he wants to create dialogue. I just wish he'd understand it's ok to be afraid of shit, it's ok to get help.
But, he'd rather call PBD a "suburban kid" (instead of "survivor of war") to diminish Patrick's struggles in comparison to his. Nobody has struggled more n seen more than AB if you ask AB, which is the saddest part of all

You can just see Pat being patient and observing how he reacts and wisely deciding what to do. Pat seemed to try to help him face up to what he clearly did and give him a chance to react to that. When he realized that he was set in his mind to be in denial and be stubborn, Pat knew it was time to close it down. He apparently had found out the character of this man and realized there was no need to dig deeper - he had seen all there is to see. I think I learned more about Pat's character than I did AB! I was nearly killed in a hit and run motorcycle accident doing 35mph when a car darted in front of me in an intersection. It changed EVERYTHING about me and I sometimes find myself defensively triggered in an irrational way by the thought of revisiting trauma. And through therapy and all Ive had to work through to rebuild my I learned that this kind of response AB is exhibiting is unfortunately common for folks whove experienced trauma... He likley feels he has it, knows its currently incurable, and is understandably, extremely uncomfortable discussing it.

I don’t watch football nor know who this guy was beforehand…however, it did get better towards the end when he put his guard down. It took a long time though. It was more a lesson on how to deal with difficult people rather than understand Antonio Brown. That’s on AB though.

Awww. That was so sad when he said it's like a modern day hunger games for people like himself, that many players are from poor beginnings and its the way to improve their financial status, that PBD's kids might not have to go that way. It's sad, but true. College is about corporations and money.
Note: the most relieved I ever felt about my son's sporting life, and he played 4 sports a year, was the day he changed from football to Ultimate Frisbee! Any hit in football can leave your kid changed for life. Watch the Will Smith movie about it. The stats on brain injuries are staggering! Not that you asked me, we ought not to let children make decisions when they truly don't understand what it can cost them later. My son was a kicker so he wasn't in the mix all the time. That did help this mom get through it, but still you hold your breath when a kid is down and not moving, and the ambulance drives into the field and carries him away. It's not worth it.

I don’t feel bad for Antonio at all. Blaming his behavior on CTE is an excuse for him to act like an idiot. He signed up to play football.

  • @lace1245

He has always had behavioral issues, but in my opinion, the head injury definitely exacerbated his issues. Trauma and a big ego can be a dangerous situation. He really believes he’s untouchable and if he doesn’t humble himself, he will end up being humbled. I hope the best for him, but I’m glad to see him out of the spotlight of the nfl for kids to look up to and think it’s normal.
    And eww, he’s hateful.

CTE is a neurodegenerative disease linked to repeated trauma to the head. The encephalopathy symptoms can include behavioral problems, mood problems, and problems with thinking.
I think that’s what we just saw here. I’m a fan of his work but his antics can’t be ignored.
