    One of my worst memories was running for a train, metrocard in hand, during the winter season. The platform was so covered in slush that my boots slipped and I fell right outside the train. My card dropped in between the gap and I had to get somebody to retrieve it from the tracks.

      This year I visited the city a record number of times. Once I just stepped off a 7 train at like Queensboro plaza. This guy ran up the stairs, past me, and slipped on the wet platform in an attempt to catch the train. The MTA worker driving the train put the permanent brakes to check on the guy who just had a nasty slip outside the waiting 7 train. I felt bad for whoever the guy was.

    The lady in the gold sweater and black coat @.36 must not be a regular subway rider. She was much too indecisive and tentative. She held the door but failed to get on. Meanwhile, a guy rushed in as she was holding the door open.

    While it can be frustrating to miss a subway train, especially when commuting to my workplace at the World Trade Center and relying on the 1, 2, or E trains, there's a valuable lesson in the importance of being early. Personally, I make it a point to plan for an extra 20 to 30 minutes in my commute schedule, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of the subway system. Beyond the inconvenience of a missed train, being early holds significant advantages. Rushing through crowded platforms and navigating bustling stations not only heightens stress but also poses risks to personal safety. Accidents can easily happen when people are in a hurry, emphasizing the need to prioritize punctuality over haste. In a city where the subway serves as a lifeline for daily commuters, incorporating a buffer of extra time into one's schedule not only ensures a smoother journey but also contributes to a safer and more considerate commuting experience for everyone.

    we have the same issue in london. On some tube lines, It sometimes says Doors will open on the Left/Right side and it usually opens on the opposite sides. Also on our buses we sometimes have a issue where the announcement systems break which can be annoying but funny aswell for example it might start announcing random stop names like "High street North, Woodgrange park station, Green Street, Shrewsbury Road, Manor park library, first avenue etc. we also sometimes have announcements what announce the wrong thing on the buses. for example "474 Stratford Cen (to) Canning Town or 242 Plaistow Broadw (to) Homerton Hospital. Also on the tube we have many people obstructing the doors trying to board. our doors are EXTREMELY strong and dont have sensors like on the back doors of our buses (the exit door). people will try push the doors open and slide threw the closing doors. even try obstructing the doors when they have their family with them and bags full of shopping which depending on which line, the average wait for the next train is like 3 mins. Same with the buses.

    • @superniko20

    • @jaydottt_transitfanner
      @jaydottt_transitfanner 3 года назад +1

      no your system is more dangerous what if somebody doesn't know that the doors are about to close and then the beeping starts happening and they get overwhelmed and don't know what to do and stand in the way of the doors and get hurt
      See in NYC it tells you that the doors are about to close

    This is NYC! People don’t listen to the “Stand Clear Of The Closing Doors Please”! They rush and once the doors begin to close, they hold the doors causing inconvenient delays. Like, wait for the next train!

  • @pkcell5688
    @pkcell5688 2 года назад

    Well it is fair game, avoid rushing at all costs to be safe and the door buzzer on the Manila MRT or LRT means stop and I seen a warning saying "When there is a blinking light or buzzer sound or announcement, do not board or sneak into the train."

  • @farrockqns2577
    @farrockqns2577 4 года назад +1

    I can’t lie sometimes I hold the doors especially if the train isn’t that crowded and also because a couple times I let the train go and right after that the trains got delayed and I had to either take an alternate route home and my NYERS know how that go or wait an hour or more until the delay is cleared for the next train

    • @TheRailLeaguer
      @TheRailLeaguer 4 года назад +1

      Far Rock Qns That is not true. I don’t know what trains you take, but on the A, C, 2, 3, 4, and 5, there is always another train behind it, so holding the doors on the train will increase the chance for those same delays since the train may get taken out of service.
      And the reason why your train is delayed is due to interlining and scumbags who hold the doors at the stations even though there is always another train behind it. If you don’t hold the doors, the train will be faster.
