There was something special with Greg Lake. Musical mastership, self confidence, relaxation, and a kind of masculinity, whitch made him unique and attractive. When I hear him sing and play his instrument, I always feel the presence of a King. A real great personality he was and always will remain. He enriched my life a lot. Death is Life, Greg
I find it sad that so much attention has been focused on George Michael, when a true talent, musician, composer, and the most AWESOME voice of Greg Lake got just a mention. Loved him and ElP, both he and Keith are such a loss.
Cause George's folks wanted him2be a concertist he's no lake not even close but plays 🎹 greatly no voice like lake plus bass n guitars lake got George easily by far but George piano no joke hope I'm rite2say that of themselves n they'd agree2that also ok!!
I have to agree with you Anita. Most of the POP MUSIC today and for a decade or two is garbage written for dance clubs and disco but not very meaningful. I think C'est la vie was possibly Greg Lakes finest. ELP is missed and never got the credit due. Some of the finest musicians on the planet.
This man had more talent in his little finger than all these so called musicians of today who spew out nothing but garbage that will make your ears want to vomit ! RIP Greg. You will be missed and never forgotten.
Greg Lake had such an angelic voice. And his ballads were so beautiful. Thank you Greg for all the beautiful music you left us. Your and ELP's music will live on forever.
He's one of the Rock God's, never again we will see this kinda talent, You turn me on, sitting playing a 12 String chewing gum while humming and singing. That should say it all. "WONDERFUL" Your music will live on forever in our hearts and soul. R.I.P.
Greg Lake, Keith Emerson, an entire lifetime of music that can never be duplicated. These pioneers of prog rock are sorely missed. Their music was my driving force in adolescence and young adulthood.
I met this Wonderful Man in the 70's when I was a Roadie for SHOWCO and CLAIR BROS. He was so nice that he gave me a cold Guiness ,This brought a tear to my eye.
I remember a couple years back a guy was trying to write a book about SHOWCO. He was taking donations and selling t-shirts. I think it was on a Led Zeppelin FB group there were a lit of pictures of the lighting and one of their (LZ) Roadies joined the group and shared alot of info and some pics.
Greg Lake, you are now silent and invisible, but so is love and faith; peace and freedom and so are memories and dreams. But your music will not be silent because as long as we live, those of us who have enjoyed it so much will always remember it and will not let go. Rest in Peace Greg. We are going to miss you.
< ❤☝️❤ Greg Lake. One of a kind for sure. His voice couldn't of been more perrrrfect! My heart cries for his life loss. I will always love Greg. Seen ELP here in California at the Jam. "California Jam." "Still You Turn Me On." What a babe. ❤❤
It is like the world feels a bit lonlier and colder each time one of the great artists of this period (late sixties , seventies) dies. I fortunately had the luck to grow up when they were famous, their music was my refuge. They gave me joy and consolation
Awesome talent, music truly inspirational. Grew up with them as well. Their music is timeless. Makes you appreciate who they were and how they influenced future musicians. RIP. Jb
You said the magic word or the word that makes someone who they are.ARTIST. Nowadays silcon valley got involved and digitalized all music so no originality. Nobody makes their own music anymore. I miss the says of 60s, 70, 80s.
RIP Greg.....sadly many if the 60s & 70s musicians/singers have now left us too soon....Music like theirs will not / cannot ever be replaced in today's "music"
Just discovered this hidden jewel after many years of hearing the music of ELP. Never imagined what a brilliant talent he was. The video of him just sitting there singing with his acoustic guitar. I never heard such a powerful voice with so much emotion while "chewing gum", lol. So sexy. I will never let this one go. Will listen over and over again and never be bored. RIP Greg...
Daniel Navarro you said it. nobody NOBODY even comes close to the professionalism and talent true talent it really makes me sad but happy we have recordings. thank God!!!
I would be inclined to agree, but I would also advise thee to seek out the brash, young, unsung bands in your home town. You'd be surprised at the amount of neglected talent.
He has lived a full life though and will continue to help other people do so for generations to come so remember to be happy that he did live rather than sad that he does not anymore.
***** I just found out yesterday and I had never really heard him before that other than in the All Starr Band. He really was something special and still is.
RIP Greg , as you once said you had a great Life on this planet, but now your gone to Heaven all i can say is thank your for the time i shared with you in your studio and i will never forget you..c u .. to all ELP fans and Haters..if you ever heared Gregs Voice Live..than you know why God,s given to some.
Had the great honor to have seen ELP in concert two times in the 1970's!Once on July 14,1977 when I was just 15 years old & again on March 13,1978 when I was just 16 years old.I totally Love the music of Emerson,Lake 7 Palmer!ELP was as the lyrics of one of their songs is written;"The Greatest Show in Heaven,Hell or Earth!"R.I.P. Greg Lake and thank you for all that you have given to us to enjoy listening to for the rest of our lives and for many generations after!
As is often true, those who are given 'special' gifts, pay for them in other ways.....so be it. Only God knows what the relationships between all these things may be. Long live the voice of Greg Lake.
It's September 2022 and I miss Greg Lake. A remarkable man & talented musician. Sadly missed. I'm in tears whenever I hear his music. Uh, my youth. Gorgeous man. GREG WAS A GREAT STIRYTELLER & ALWAYS GRACIOUS TO HIS MANY FANS!!!! RIP GREG 🙏.
So sad. He was such a great person. First Keith now Greg. May they Rest In Peace. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family. Thanks so much for the beautiful music. So glad I have the Greg Lake Live DVD.
GREG WAS IN A CLASS OF HIS OWN ...that says it all . I was fortunate to see him perform 3 times one for each decade beginning 1973..... will miss his incomparable talent .REST IN PEACE ...GREG.
Greg Lake....the world lost a wonderful soul when you had to leave us! Never the likes will we ever see again. Your wonderful voice and guitar still give me goosebumps to this day! Your are missed very, very much! ❤️
Truly a great artist. I saw ELP for their Works tour in 1978 in Nashville--the last city where they used the entire Orchestra of Paris. They had to drop it because it was so expensive. An extraordinary night. RIP Greg.
I loved Greg too since 1975 and he was and still is a part of my life. I cry listening to his beautiful voice because he is no longer with us. He will never be forgotten!
oh man I can only say thank u because good bye hurts too much:) Greg for your angelic voice and incredible inspiration ..since I was 3 yrs old I've heard you playing your heart out!
I am so heartbroken another musical hero from my youth has passed. I am left with many joyful memories of a time in rock and roll so rich with magical music. I am very appreciative of growing up in this era. There will never be musicians that can better the both of you. Now Greg Lake and Keith Emerson belong to the ages. R I P
I am so sad because of the passing of Greg Lake! What a voice and poet and the world has gotten more darker because of him and Keith Emerson being gone!
A beautiful memorial to a underrated bassplayer and one of best voices ever. Unfortunately the guy on 3:20 is not Greg Lake Lake, it's John Wetton, who was also one of King Crimson's bass players and lead singers. May both rest in peace, we miss you.
