The flour thing is 1000% legit. In my science class many many years ago we use to make this happen on a much smaller scale. This is why places that work around stuff like wood dust and flour are heavily ventilated.

The flour when aerosolized can be flammable, so will baby powder. First time I was introduced to this reaction was in high school chemistry class. Look up lycopodium powder, that's most likely what was used in the movie. Grain dust in grain silos are very dangerous just because of the explosive nature of fine particles floating in the air under the right conditions can level a silo.

Take a pinch of non dairy creamer and drop it over an open flame and watch it flare. Wheat grains, flour, creamer, all kinds of powders can be used to explode that aren't normally flammable. Don't think sugar works, but can't remember. Maybe powdered sugar.

Sam was played by veteran actor Orson Bean. For anyone like me who grew up in the 60's,70's and 80's Bean was a regular fixture on TV panel game shows like "To Tell the Truth" and many others. He guest starred on many TV shows until his death in 2020 when he was sadly struck by a car while walking near his home. He was always a great funny story teller when he did the game shows or appeared on whatever talk show he did.

Flour, when mixed with the right amount of oxygen is very explosive and flammable. The CQC (close quarter combat) he uses is very accurate and effective. You would be surprised how often highly trained intelligence operatives, spikes, kites go bad. The private military contractor tends to be a good way to keep them working while supervised so long as the private contractor corporation doesn't turn to the dark side.

There is something interesting about the threat Robert made at 10:39 to his former squad. He said that it was unfortunate that he couldn't kill them twice. Miles said that his brother had to be remembered, otherwise it is as if he has died twice. Robert took note of that, which means he desired for those men to not only die, but also be forgotten.

If there's a lot of flour, dust, or anything with small particles like that floating around in the air it is EXTREMELY flammable. Grain silos would explode if any kind of spark or heat source happens within one because of the dusty air. Now-a-days they would do things like pump inert gases like nitrogen or argon into the silos so that there's less oxygen in there since it's the oxygen that combusts.

As astonishing as it may sound, the fact is that flour dust is more explosive than gunpowder and 35 times more combustible than coal dust. However, it is not explosive in small, non-dispersed quantities. For example, if you burn a small pile of flour sitting on top of your kitchen counter, it won’t explode since it’s not dispersed in a cloud-like form. The case is different when dealing with airborne flour particles, as they have ample oxygen to fuel combustion. Combine that formula with multiple secondary dust sources in a confined space, add an ignition source, and you have a recipe for a chain reaction that could lead to an explosion. During the past 35 years, more than 500 incidents have been reported in flour mills across the U.S., which have caused more than 180 deaths and 675 injuries. This represents an accurate picture of how destructive exploding flour can be.

It was flour. When it's aerated like that, the fine flour has more surface area mixed with an abundance of air. Fire only needs three things...air, fuel and an ignition source. The fan spread it throughout a large area. With it igniting so fast in a contained area....explosion.

    EQ2.
    Another kick-a** sequel.
It just never ceases to amaze in having one of the great actors of all time in a well-honed action thriller.
I liked how this one was a little more closer, more personal for McCall.
Betrayal has a way of bringing out the worse in people.
But you don't just think that with McCall, you'll get away with it.
    Bigger, better action sequences.
Especially the fight inside of his car and the battle within the storm in his old neighborhood.
    EQ2 as Denzel's first sequel outgrossed EQ1.
I saw EQ3 twice at AMC.

Getting a full break like in the movies is very hard. It takes quite a bit of torque to fully "snap" a neck. But even if it doesn't break you could be in a halo for a while.

    • @w1975b
      @w1975b 9 месяцев назад

I'd think if the break were complete, then the nerves can't send signals to the heart to keep beating, so death would be immediate. I worked in a chiro office and the chiropractor said it does require a lot of force to break a neck, more than what's applied during adjustments. I still didn't want my neck adjusted (as a job perk) that way, I asked for the activator to be used. But I'm always tense, so my neck muscles were and having someone pull on them in that condition is not good.

I think the word you're looking for is "episodic", which is when each episode is a standalone story (eg things like SVU, Star Trek etc.) contrasted with "serialised" which is when there's a larger story played out bit by bit over the whole season (eg Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones). "Procedural" refers to a show in which the "procedure" makes up the content, typical in cop shows where the cops finding evidence and tracking down the bad guy is the subject of the show.

Bit of geek science here. Flour DOES burn like that! bit it has to be airborne & in its smallest particles. For a fun little experiment to test this, & THIS MUST BE DONE OUTSIDE! AWAY FROM FLAMABLE ITEMS!!! Take a candle & a tea spoon of flour. Light the candle & from a distance of a metre or so away, blow the flour onto the flame, if not just above the flame so the flour falls down a little.

Flour in the air is a serious explosion risk provided it is in sufficient quantity. Medieval mills worked dawn to dusk as there could never be a candle or any form of spark as the mil would explode like a bomb.

Glad to see you both see this. Kind of more vicious kills overall I think, but also I agree more suspense then action, but that's fine to keep things mixed up foe this sequel I feel.
I love the mentor relationship in this about as much as the first one, maybe slightly more because there was more interaction and discussion, and I loved that scene after he took Miles from the gang, powerful and his acting strength was masterfully executed.
Great watch! I hope you both see some more great Denzel movies like John Q.
Have a great day/night, and thanks for another great vid!

Edward Woodward played McCall in the tv series. He's the CCTV guy in 'Hot Fuzz.' He also played Callan, in a late 60s, early 70s UK tv show of the same name, about a govt assassin. The 1974 movie ''Callan,'' based on the first ep [ and original novel ] is well worth a look.

Pedro played a very flamboyant villain in the second Wonder Woman movie, and he was a kind-of villain in a recent movie with Nicolas Cage. Even when he plays bad guys they are always interesting so whenever you see him in anything now its like another commenter said, a 50/50 shot whether he's a hero or the bad guy. But your going back and forth on him in this movie had me laughing.😅
Another great reaction guys, thank you! 💜👍

Great reaction. My favorite line was after Robert burst into the drug dealer/gangbanger's apartment, Robert calmly telling the gangbanger, "Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down," with the gun pointed to his head. That was more hilarious to me than , "I'm your father. Your momma just didn't tell ya."

Pedro was not as brutal as the first films villain but for much of this movie his character is ambiguous. Pedro is the bad guy but I think we have a built in assumption he wouldn't be. I think you guys experienced the doubt of his motives making this a better movie.
