      The trick with eyes is this:
      1) Paint one eye.
      2) Paint the other eye.
      3) If desired, repeat step 2 until the face looks sane.

      Haha thanks! You dont want to be like me, im quite tall and it's a bit of a struggle finding shirts and coats that fit properly.
      My main tip is to enjoy what you do and try and put that energy and love into the videos, if you are excited about painting something, for me it's Middle Earth, then make a video that you would enjoy watching back :)
      After that it's all about learning what gear and setup to have, which is a whole bag of cats by itself!

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  7 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome! And welcome to the painting side of the hobby :)
      Id say always try something out if you have an idea for a colour scheme as its easy to be a hobby butterfly and forget things.
      Take note of colours when you watch TV shows and movies - if you are on your computer then take a screen shot and make a library - i have one for clothing which is nice to scan through now and again :)
      My number 1 tip is - ALWAYS DO A TEST MODEL! Get the colours all down on 1 miniature to see how it will look overall and if you like it then proceed with the rest, the worst thing you could do is paint a bunch of minis or even a warband then take a step back and look at them and think ' ah nuts' i don't like XYZ on them! :)
      Hope that helps a bit! :):)

    Any advice on painting non muscular arms? I have a few female dnd characters whose arms are smooth with zero muscle definition and I don’t know how to go about it.😅
    I usually use muscle detail to guide my hand for highlights on skin

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Год назад

      When I paint the more dainty looking minis with no muscle structure i try not to do lines for highlighting like i would with muscular minis to pick out the definition.
      I try to do a lighter layer of skin colour instead and have a more smoother outcome from the shaded areas - such as the wrist, elbow and anything near some clothing/armour - to the lighter areas like the forearms, hands and shoulders.
      It's probably something that I need to paint more to get it nailed, but for now i just like the method i'm doing now :) I wont win painting awards - but at least you know it's skin! haha
