Great start, nice wood, vreat catch on the tenon. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful week. Everyone stay safe, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
Not always easy working with a set amount of timber, great to see how you worked out how it would all go together using the existing reclaimed cabinet 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺
That’s coming along nicely! Tenons- I’ve cut more tenons too narrow than I’d care to admit. It’s not a catastrophe but it is a pita. Just glue on a splice of wood to the face of the tenon to fit or glue on a larger splice and then resize the tenon as needed once the glue has set enough to work with. I’ve even used just a shaving or two of wood to get the right fit.
Good morning 🌅, Honey B, very nice work, it is great that you are able to use reclaimed furniture, that your customer had, I sold my mortis machine, I regret selling it, It was very old, But I had parts of it remachined so it was very accurate, keep up the great work stay safe, ❤ from France.
Thanks! It’s extra work but worth it. I hate the amount of waste going on. All these big companies mass produce cheap products, that when they fall apart or the trends change, it’s easier to just throw it away and buy a new cheap product. So much waste.
It’s a nice project to do. The downside of using recycled material is that the time or labour spend cleaning up the wood to a useable level is hardly appreciated. ( and difficult to estimate beforehand ) I’m looking forward to the rest of this series
That was the bonus to this. She had no finish on the teak so I was able to use it as is. Just some sanding at the end, but I would have done that for any project.
@@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks I have 8 10" and 6 12" that I need to have sharpened. I saw a video with a guy cutting one up to make marking knives. That's another idea.
Sorry about your luck on teak. My source has teak available all the time. Two types one is prohibitive price $38 from Burma or $17 from afrormosia. Looks like another challenge build.

I liked this project, but I agree. No room for mistakes are not my favorites projects.

I’ve never seen a video of recycling a piece of furniture. Thank you for making this video! Can wait to watch the next one!
Thanks! It’s my favorite way to build.
Great start. Well, explained. I noticed Mr. Penguin made the trip from the old shop to the new one.
He’s a main staple at this point
Another great looking project, thank you Caitlin. Looking forward to following the rest of the build.
Thanks
Great star to the build really looking forward to the rest of the build
Fantastic work, like your explanation of the process, there has to be a lot of thought into recycling furniture 👍
Yeah, it’s an added challenge, but the fun sort of challenge.

With all that teak, your table saw blade is gonna be worthless! This is looking good!
They all need to be sharpened anyway. And I won’t do it.

This is a great project. Thanks for
…for doing it!
I enjoyed this one. Was a really nice break from all the plywood based cabinets projects I’ve had recently.
Big ,big respect here.Great to see that old gear like radial arm saw getting a workout, too.
