Great entertainment lol My thoughts are you needed to swap places with Alana as the Lady appeared to be more informed about the GB50 than Scott 🙂 and lastly you made a point of saying about the over ride and be aware the units bypasses the safety system then promptly disconnected the unit while it was still in over ride mode and placed it on the ground where there was a chance the cables might touch, They didn't in this instance but you infered by your actions it was an acceptable practise, Whilst most educated folks would turn it off first there are those amoungst us less inclined to use common sense.

      Hi Kevin 👋.
You also failed to mention that there was a chance of random lightning striking us while we performed such dangerous acts! Or that the car hadn't been fully certified as safe during this multi-million pound production. What can I say, I'm an absolute daredevil, a menace to society and living life on the extreme edge while making this video... 😅
But in all seriousness, thank you for your constructive criticism, it is all duly noted and taken onboard. Also thanks for taking some of your time to watch this video of ours 👍😃.

Some incorrect info here. Once the car is running it is running off the alternator, not the battery. The battery is only used when starting.

      Hi Kickin Addiction 👋.
I've just had a look at your channel and one of your arms is probably bigger than my head! 💪😃 My counter argument would be the following... If the aux/serpentine belt which powers the alternator snapped and come off while a petrol car was driving, the car would continue to drive. That would show me that the car is driven off of the battery and not the alternator. If a car was powered by the alternator, wouldn't the engine instantly stop once the belt comes off?
I know when I've had an aux belt snap on a car, the first thing that would be noticed is that the power steering no longer works due to the pump not being driven. Then a decent while later, depending on how much current is being drawn from the battery, will the engine start performing odd due to the battery being depleted and running out of juice.
In the instance in this video the car is running off of the alternator. The difference being that the battery is dead so the car starts off of the NOCO's power, then continues to run with whatever power is coming from the alternator.
From what I know, the car runs off the battery and the alternator is there to cut in and out to charge the battery. Quite often the alternator on modern day cars will be deactivated to lower the amount of drag in the aux belts circuit. When the battery reaches a defined level, the alternator will cut back in to charge the battery back up again before deactivating once again. 😃

Great video...from here in America.........as we celebrate Trumps victory...and will again soon be able to afford petrol....and not have our cars sit for months and months.

Thanks Kee 👍😁. It must be crazy at the moment over there in America with various celebrations going on. When someone new gets put into "power" over here, to the most part most people say "meh" and move on 🤣.

Those leads are way too short! I don't think they'd even reach the battery pins on my Disco 3...
Also would be interested to know whether you managed to get any charge in the battery as I suspect once the Mini was started it was just running on the alternator output?

Before buying the NOCO, I watched some other reviews and people using it, and one of the guys used it on his big "Yank Tank" and the clips reached. But they are indeed very short to say the least! 😄 They do say the leads are short by design due to how much current is delivered from the unit. I'm not techie enough to know how right their statement is. 😄
I guess on the flip side, do you need the negative clip on the negative pole? Or could you just clip the negative to a grounding point close to the positive pole of the battery? I'm just thinking out loud really. 😁
We didn't really leave the Mini running long enough to put any charge into the battery. But after we stopped filming, the Mini went back to being fully dead. So I'm guessing the battery is toast! 😄
The Mini does have quite a high compression engine, so credit to it getting the car running and it would've got us out of trouble if we were indeed in trouble. 😀

@ScottandAlana4x4 The short lead design does make sense from a current carrying perspective, but an extra 50mm on each would have a negligible effect. Indeed to counter this they could've increased the wire gauge.
At that current, best always to connect to the battery poles in my experience.
Would've been interesting to see if the charger "past" Scott used was able to add charge after the Noco had been used?
I have a Victron intelligent automatic charger which has revived a couple of batteries which were supposedly "dead"...its very impressive though I wouldn't rely on a revived battery for long.
The Noco is still a useful little device to have in your boot to get you out of sticky situations.
Enjoying your FL2 videos though. Alana and yourself have good on screen chemistry...much like Christian and Vera over at LR Time 👍

@AdeptHavelock If it wasn't for servicing the Freelander on the same day as this, "future Scott" was going to put the battery back on charge to see if the charger would then pick it up and continue to charge it.
I think it was a day or two after we jumped it that I did put it on charge and any slight charge it did have must have left the battery as it came up "Err" on the charger again. 😀
Once we are not so busy, we are going to put a can of fuel in it, take it for a drive, and see if the battery has any life left in it. I feel like the battery is so deep discharged that it's now become a square ornament with distilled water in it. 😄
We were just happy that the NOCO served its purpose mainly. At least if we are out camping and get a low battery, this should hopefully rescue us 🤞😁. Failing that, it'll be used as a phone / GoPro top-up device. 😂
Alana just puts up with me really 😂. She could do better, but she says that she doesn't have the motivation, so "I'll do" for now. 😄

Worthless, the first time I needed it wasn't strong enough....
So you have to know in advance when you have car trouble haha, then you can charge it enough!!

Was it the same of NOCO that we had in this video? I know there are lower powered ones that would struggle to start some cars 😀.
