- Leaving Damascus and heading on a big road trip! Starting in Maaloula, stranded in between two mountains, which meant we couldn't actually visit Maaloula at all...next up we had Homs to meet some great people and eat some fabulous Syrian food before finally arriving in Aleppo, a city we have all seen on the news!

All credit for taking time out to visit a place that’s been through hell. Full respect to you guys and visiting a place in the world that’s suffered so much destruction 😢. I’am sure you were humbled by the people who have been through terrible times!
Thank you for watching Roy!
it's an absolute joy to watch these vids on your trip to that country. The people of that city suffered the most. We hope things would look different in the near future there .
Thank you ♥️
Aleppo was home to a large Jewish community that dates back to the time of King David.

Hey everyone,
First of all, I want to express my gratitude for your visit to Syria, and I hope you had a positive experience during your time here.
When discussing the destruction of Homs city, it's essential to recognize the complexity of the events that unfolded. Different perspectives and narratives exist regarding this matter.
Regarding the situation in Homs, it's important to acknowledge the role played by the actions of the Syrian government and the violations committed by its intelligence agencies. I have indicated that the government's suppression of peaceful demonstrations and the use of force contributed to escalating tensions and a desire for self-protection among the people.
The subsequent siege, starvation, and heavy bombardment of Homs by government forces resulted in immense suffering and widespread destruction. It is crucial to shed light on the human rights abuses and the devastating loss of life that occurred during this period.
However, I would like to caution against accepting information from individuals associated with the Syrian government's inner ministry, as they are presenting biased pro-Assad propaganda that does not accurately reflect the true extent of the situation. It's important to acknowledge the serious accusations of war crimes against the Syrian population and recognize that individuals like these touristic guards (Rami) is strongly been influenced by the regime's propaganda.
Thank you for your attention.
Best regards,
Your Syrian follower
To remove someone going wrong most be better from him/them the persons who carry the guns not just Syrian or at least not living in Syria, hope everything go good to all who got hurt from this war "who missed people as a love (family,..) and who lost his country"
Best wishs from lebanon "just a little know details and that main words in the big case hope all the Syrian people know what happen their really because its a big big rule from the rules" 👍🏻👍🏻🌸🌸
How ironic. You're spreading propaganda while warning them against propaganda? That's the textbook definition of a hypocrite. As a Syrian I can't say I'm a huge fan of Assad but at the same time I sure as hell don't blame the Syrian government for the destruction and devastation that still plagues the country. That's just plain stupid--they literally gain nothing from hurting their own people. You must be blind or daft if you believe that bullcrap, or somehow benefitting from all this. People like you who spread lies and biased misinformation against their own country disgust me. Traitors like you have no right to call themselves Syrian.
Well said and good job highlighting a small example of the brutality of this regime. Two things I need to point out. 1- They either already know all of this and they chose to sugar coat a brutal dictatorship regime which shows incredible lack of respect to human rights (as long as they're having good time and food, why give a fuck? Says a ton about them) Or they are completely naive and money has turned them blind. 2- If I was in the dictators shoes, I'd encourage such propaganda in all ways possible (as he already does). It's like using a saw, has an impact on the inside and outside. Instead of being shamed they get praised on here, kinda gives you an idea of how fucked up this world is!!
@A K. have you even lived in syria in the past decade or are you just speaking out of your media-worshiping ass? what "brutal dictatorship" are you even on about? Assad is far from the best leader but this whole narrative where he's painted as some sort of evil maniac is getting really old and serves merely as a way to distract fools from the real issues at hand.

Too bad you missed Malloulah, cute town with oldest church in the world, and they have even a canyon with thousands of years old tombs and shelters. It was like a mini Grand Canyon. And people in Homs were also so welcoming to us,expecially the kids.
Well said, Ramie😢😢😢 leave them alone. Good video , thanks a stack 🎉🎉🎉 👌
I was smiling all through out but it suddenly changed with all that damage of a city destroyed, when you were waking past those buildings it looked like something out an apocalyptic movie . Harrowing but it’s fighting back , thanks again content amazing

Very amazing and touching video. Old city Homs, That's where I come from. Moved out in 2002. In 2006 on a visit I went to that monastery. It's a place that is really worth a visit and taking those 400 steps.
Hi, Mike do you know anything about the dish maghtoutah? I believe it’s a specialty of the old city of Homs.
@@jasrazubairi Yes absolutely correct. I don't know much about it because I haven't had it in so long. But it is made from the stuff that collects when the milk is boiled. Off the top. And then you add sugar to it. People say it's really good.
@@Mr.MikeTarrab can you please tell me where I can get more information about it? I’m working on an article based on the dish but there is nothing on the Internet. I would be really grateful. I read about the dish in the book ‘the battle for home’ by Marwa Al Sabouni. I also got in touch with Marwa. But except for the name I couldn’t get more information regarding it.
@@jasrazubairi I wish I can help you. Did you try looking it up writing it in Arabic? The thing is that it's more of dessert than a dish!
@@Mr.MikeTarrab hi! I found it ! There’s a lot of information in Arabic! Thank you so much for your help!
Sucks that war destruction always happens in the old part of cities (Homs , Mosul , Aleppo) since it's very difficult to rebuld some of the historical stuff there .

The truth is life is a lie or as Shakespeare says it is a grand theatre
Because you cannot roam around in Syria if ISIS or the ISIS ideology wins or takes over Syria
He stressed that it is impossible for a Christian or an intellectual of Christian origin, nor a good-natured Jew, to be able to roam around Syria as you roam around Syria today.
And the bitter thing about life is the fighters who liberated Syria from ISIS. Their graves are in Najaf, and their pictures fill the streets of Baghdad.
