Thanks Al. Someday would like to try making a pack and this is one of the fabrics. Very tough and light.

Cool Project Bruce. You are really talented at this, this is a great skill to have. Thanks for showing all the DIY's that you do.

Thanks Lee. Lots of little projects to try. My boys retired from the Corp by the way. They had a great experience, but now both want to try life.

I really like that you are always trying new a different DIY projects. I fail at this terribly. I often watch these type project videos, yet rarely actually try them. Your channel is an encouragement to try. I salute your Sons and wish them all the best, I know they will do well!

That came out really good, i like it. I have a weakness for little zipper pouches and bags and such, Not just for back packing but for daily use too. Nice video.

Thanks Nick. I am real happy with it and it has spurred some other ideas just based on the construction techniques. I really needed to do this type of project. It improved my skill and insight a lot.

That's so neat to hear. Did you have to acquire the sewing machine for this project? That is an item I don't own yet. Deciding whether picking one up is worth it for me. Thanks

Isn't it Mike? I have never done a zipper in my life so lots of swearing and seam ripping on this one. I was also watching guitar instructionals the whole time too. Need to strum after watching your live vids. Perfect thing to do during recovery for you.

Nature Calls Backpacking I envisage me also swearing a lot trying to do zippers etc!
How are you doing with guitar? Which channels do you use? Some are very good others less so.:-)

Thanks Mark. As you know the edited video is quite different than the actual. Lots of swearing got edited out.

Ha ha! Yes we have a habit of changing these things Bruce. I wonder what the world would be like if we offered it all as is? A lot of fun no doubt. Have a great week.

I really like this style. Most my ditty bag are this style now. Next item is a food bag this style. Wondered if there is a lighter option then a zipper, but zippers are light.
    Thanks again.

Melanie Ham sewing channel has a good Box tutorial too. Where I learned to make this type bag. I like the looks of this Ripstop kit!. And esp like the double zipper. I'm going to use a double zipper on my next bag! Good tutorial, thanks!

Thanks David. I love finding new channels too. I am really a terrible seamster and need to learn. I might even learn to crochet now. I will be making a ton of these as I need to outfit the family too. Probably try the hip belt one next

Great video! Just FYI. Dynama/Cuban fiber fabric has to be cut with a heat knife to keep the edges sealed.

Nature Calls Backpacking I like the sailrite edge hotknife. I use it for any synthetic fabric.

Nature Calls Backpacking yeah, trying to freshen things up. still fairly new, but I’ve seen some positive changes in the analytics so far. I’m always open for feedback, so let me know what you think. Thanks!

Time to start Mark. It is really fun. This project did take some time. A lot of bad language had to be edited out.

    Is that a janome hf107???

    • @naturecallsoutdoors
      @naturecallsoutdoors  6 лет назад

Nope just a mid level Kenmore. I would love to get something like a Janome someday but this baby has sewn many cushions for the sailboat, camping gear and my daughters dresses and hasn't missed a beat. Would love to have a walking foot and a maching that could go through thicker applications.
