- While crazy people still think there's a Rookie Of The Year race (there isn't) Caitiln Clark is having an MVP-quality season. Let's talk about it!
Good points made! Another point is if the refs started calling the fouls as defined by the rules, Caitlin Clarks game would improve and Reese's game would decrease dramatically.😮

Excellent point regarding referees making appropriate calls. If the refs called traveling every time Angel traveled, Angel would rarely score double figures.
Caitlin is the female Atlas holding up the WNBA and her back hasn’t given out yet.

Regarding the Sky versus Storm game on July 6, go back and watch Angel Reese's 3-pointers and jumpshots beyond the basket. Caitlin would love to have that much slack in defense covering her when she is shooting from the floor. Nobody defensively was interested in guarding Angel Reese's floor shots - NOBODY! Angel stood, alone, and uncontested for so long that she decided to shoot her second 3-pointer. The defense played against these ladies and by these ladies would be a dream come true for Caitlin if she could get half the slack that other players get. I mean, these women bring the ball upcourt without coverage. When they do get coverage it is usually the offensive player attacking the basket instead of the defense coming out to pick up and pressure away from the basket. These non-Caitlin Clark participating games look more like pick-up games versus when playing against Caitlin it it looks like the game is on the line with a few seconds to go and they MUST get the ball back from Caitlin NOW!
In other words, I AIN'T IMPRESSED. Non-ball players cannot appreciate the drain on a player who is being hawked the whole game by opposition that alternates fresher defensive players to cover you throughout the whole game. Angel et al. look relaxed the whole damn game. Even the Lloyd lady for the Storm was not really contested that hard by the Sky. Playing with hands in your face and on your back or hips the whole time that you are on the court, no matter where you are on the court will wear you down, will wear your legs down, and when your legs are worn down your jumpshot will falter. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT! If Caitlin received the Angel Reese degree of inattention, her legs would be much fresher and her shot would be much crisper.
In my earlier years of ball playing I would sometimes play while wearing either 5 pounds ankle weights or a 15 pounds weight belt during play. At 6'1", I could still dunk with two-hands over a defender, but damn-it it was very short lived as far as how many times during a game that I threw down a dunk or shot a long jumpshot while wearing weights compared to not wearing weights. The point is that the more energy exerted wears the legs down and the jumpshot suffers as well.
Compared to Caitlin's defensive treatment on the court, it is a testament to her greatness that she can deliver double anything. Also, I have heard critics speak about her so-called less aggressive defensive play. Well, there are only so many mitochondria in a human organism's back, neck, leg and arm muscles to produce energy to propel activity. When the capacity is spent on doing as many things as Caitlin does when she is on the floor, then, like a boxer who ain't punching as frequently and as hard in round 8 or 9 as he did in rounds 1 and 2, the physicality expended often requires that the athlete reserve something and from somewhere in order to last the entirety of the bout. Players that play under the basket get more relative rest during the course of the game compared to floor generals. My point is that if a player is getting pressed like Caitlin gets pressed, then like a boxer getting lots of body punches throughout the earlier rounds, at some point the cumulative effect of those body punches are going to slow him down, if not stop him sooner than later just because he's human. "Ironman" only exists in Marvel comics.

Is it just me or does CC still look very tired? She has been through so much since she entered the W. As you point out, their pursuit of her on the court has been relentless, and, as soon as the game ends another relentless pursuit begins. During all of this she handles with such class!❤️
And she came in from a very long college season (all the way to the NCAA title game) so it's been a really long stretch of basketball.

They missed so many clean looks, and layups vs Vegas that it became frustrating for CC..even with the turnovers and the weak defense in the 4 Q…it should have been a close fight…the thing with this rookie of the year award is that you can see the media making a case for Angel Reese, they don’t want her in the league, they all hate and envy her both some players and even the W as organization…none of them it’s taking about the many records she has tied and broken as a rookie and as a player period. You gays have to do it here, because nobody in ESPN or fox or any other sports media wants nothing to do with the W and it’s circus, and so I am preparing myself for a scenario where they give the award to the ghetto girl or make a case for a shared award. So disgusting and disrespectful that I am still watching just because I know CCs character, her ability to continue to perform under the most insane pressure, I know she is a fighter, a perfectionist and a hard worker. Clark is American Exceptionalism on the court and off. Phenomenal talent w/ incredible bball intelligence & court view. Excellent human.
Caitlin is the floor General. She is this despite receiving more defensive attention than any player in the league to include more blitzes than any team in the league
CC is breaking records despite her coach, teammates that are just in the past few games catching up, and a league that has worked hard to be unwelcoming if not down right hateful.
There is no ceiling for Clark if she could play w/ great teammates in the correct places and rotation who want to win as much as she does. There is no ceiling if she could get a coach who knows how to coach a talent as great as she is.
I want to see Clark freed by excellence around her! My goodness that would be once in a lifetime bball. It would be worthy of taking a season to follow Caitlin from game to game on the road and subletting an apartment for the summer.

If Reese wins Rookie of the Year (ROTY), it's because her teammates and coach are relentlessly pushing her to be the best, helping her break records along the way. Their mutual care and support are evident. Just take a look a post game interview after Seatle game, the love Chen, Coach, and Reese have for each other. In stark contrast, Caitlin's coach and 'most' of her teammates seem to be sabotaging her chances. They hinder her potential to win ROTY. For example, Caitlin was on the verge of a Triple-Double, but her coach hindered her by pulling her out of the game at the end. If Caitlin had a coach like Reese's, she would have ensured Caitlin achieved that Triple-Double.
Sides WANTED reese in. the first place and Dunn promised her reese, but ownership stepped in at the 11th hour. Sides would give reese every chance in the world to succeed if she was on the fever. (Lesbians stick together in the WNBA, which has killed the sport.)

In one of the Highlights I saw a second long shot of Fever GM Lin Dunn, just before Caitlin Secured Her Triple Double, and Dunn did not look Happy In The Least.
Dunn is all about First Round Picks and Trading, Trading, Trading(Players like Celeste Taylor, that she won't allow to play, are her Prime Victims) and if the Fever isn't in Last Place, no lottery picks for Dunn & no more Kids to Draft and Screw Over. Dunn is either a Drunk or an Idiot, Or BOTH
I think Aja Wilson has the MVP all wrapped up, but definitely Rookie of the year, she is one of the few triple threats.
Of course she's the mvp. Name another player who if she wasn't on their team, the team would be in the basement. That's what mvp means, not any Stat. How valuable you are to your team.

I think I read that in the last 7 years only once did the MVP not come from the winning team and that exception was Breanna Stewart. So can the Fever get there to give Clark a true fighters chance,, time will tell. It all goes back to why Clark ended up on the fever , who was the worse team with little support for Clark, plus the fact they were not used to working that hard and with champion calibur pt guard. They are starting to come around. A top quality coach also would not hurt the fever's chances. As much as we want to see the change , not likely to happen this season.

First, when CC and the Fever were playing their tenth game approximately, she looked emaciated to me. Second, at this point in the season, i.e., half way, I ask myself, "which rookie in the WNBA is the definition of the phrase "the straw that stirs the drink"? CC is by definition the ROTY is she stays healthy. There are a few teams with players who just want to deck her early in the game: Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Atlanta Dream, etc. This shit has to stop a.s.a.p. "WWE" players need to be suspended.
