The shutdown of MTV Classic UK (March 31, 2022)

- MTV Classic (in the UK and Ireland) was originally launched on July 1, 1999 as VH1 Classic. The channel (at the time when it was called VH1 Classic) was originally available for the entire Europe until November 2004 (when the UK version of VH1 Classic was split from the pan-European feed).
On March 1, 2010, the UK version of VH1 Classic was rebranded into MTV Classic. The channel was known to play music videos from the 1960s until the early 2010s (or I'll say, the entirety of 2010s in the last few years of broadcast), though it also aired music videos from the 1940s and the 1950s. The channel was also notable for its temporary channels, such as MTV Xmas (which was aired during the Christmas season in the UK from 2013 until 2021), MTV Summer (from August until September of 2014 and from June until August of 2015, respectively), MTV Love (from late-January to February of 2014), MTV Pride (from 2015 and 2017, and again in 2021, respectively), MTV 90s (from May to June 2016), and MTV 80s (from February to March of 2020).
On March 31, 2022, MTV Classic (in the UK), alongside with MTV Base, were closed down for good, which both of these channels were replaced with the UK versions of MTV 80s and MTV 90s, respectively.
On a side note, I wasn't able to record the shutdown of MTV Base UK, though. I also want to note that MTV Classic is still broadcasting in Australia (but not in New Zealand, as it was replaced by MTV 80s on July 6, 2020), though it is worth noting that the Australian version of MTV Classic was used to be broadcasted in the Philippines as a digital subchannel on IBC-13 sometime in 2017 and it was available on Solar's (defunct?) commercial satellite provider Agilasat sometime in 2018.
Rest in peace, MTV Classic UK. You'll be missed.

Goodbye by the spice girls was the perfect song to end. It was really them saying goodbye to us one last time.
MTV Classic launched on 1st July 1999, which was Princess Diana's 38th birthday. The channel was best known for playing its Classic songs. After nearly 23 years on the air, MTV Classic and MTV Base were both shut down forever and they were replaced by MTV 80s and MTV 90s. Both MTV Base and MTV Classic will be missed. But don't worry, folks. MTV 80s and MTV 90s are on the air because they are both known for playing their best 80s music and 90s music.

MTV Classic lasted on the air for only 22 years. It will be missed now as it will rest in peace after 22 years on the air. MTV 80s will replace this channel.
Liberty Poole will miss both MTV Classic and MTV Base so much. The two channels were replaced by MTV 80s and MTV 90s. Liberty Poole is a 90s kid and she grew up in the 90s because she was born in Birmingham, England on 2nd September 1999. She was born there as Liberty Amor Poole. Liberty Poole is 22 years old. She will be 23 years old on 2nd September, which is a Friday this year. Liberty Poole will be 23 years old on Friday 2nd September 2022.
