Volkl Skis!!!! Amazing the deals that are out there. Specifically, the Revolt 114. All sizes available for $400, while the identical model for this year is on their site for $750. Same goes for a lot of the Blaze range, although the 106 and 94 changed for this year.
1:02 That is why I am here - to see a fresh take on some new info. There are only so many partially accurate Listacles I can read. The ski world needs more stuff like you deliver here.
Thank you Sir! Going back to skiing after TPF injury in 2021. Just got my Elan Ripstick 88 at 172”. Currently skiing on Salomon Ti XDR 169” (2017) 80mm underfoot and needed more of a powder skies. Got good deal.

I got the 2024 bent chetler 120s for $399 on Thursday and now there back up to $479. Sadly just seeing this video now so was unable to use your link!!! Next time tho!!!
Yep. Crazy prices up here in Canada on last seasons skis. And now you have most higher end skis alone touching $1,000 and up to almost $3,000 for Stockli!
I bought my Volkl Mantra 102s at the perfect time. I don't see them for the killer price i got anymore. Plus I found the Marker Jester bindings in the same colorway for $220!! I jumped at the deal and don't regret it.....even though my Head Kore 105s are still in great shape...just that they're 4 years old and I want crud busters.
These deals are killing me! Just received the Wrangler from Meier had bindings mounted and ready to go - now you have me looking hard at the QST98...I know in my head I don't need it..but in my ❤ ...another story
Thank you so much for the video, I ended up picking up a pair of 98 QSTs in 183 cm because of you. This will be my first pair of skis that I have a freedom to choose a mounting point and was wondering if you recommend anything other than the factory recommended mounting point? (6’ and around 165-170 if that plays a factor) I believe I ski my 176 cm Maverick 86c in the factory recommended and ideally see myself using the QST in trees and bowls for when I travel out west (will primarily stick to the maverick on the east coast) I love moguls so I’d probably be encountering those as well. I appreciate any insight and thanks again for the great video.
I got the jelly Hansen jacket last year, I highly recommend it. Variety of days and it was perfect for heat regulation thru the day never noticed getting over heated or too cold. Had a couple really cold days and was still good in my normal short sleeve under layer with under armor long sleeve heat gear base layer as a mid layer
I have the ‘23 Rustler 9s…big enough of a difference to grab the QST 98s for all mountain (UT) and 70% skiing with friends (70% groomers hoping to get more off-piste being playful) vs 30% skiing with young kids?
Yeah I think so, not just the width but in the cut and build. If you really want a value and a big difference though I would check out that bent 110 deal maybe. They pulled it from Evo but you can still find it on Utah skis : www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=pl&ti=7417&pw=372417&mi=19201&pt=3&pri=12826
Do you got any tips for a touring ski with great downhill performance? (That could ad some weight but does not matter so much) Looking for skis around 100mm wide, around 172-174 cm. Nice video!
do you think a qst 92 would fit me as an ex racer with experience in powder/off piste that needs to coach kids racing but wants a wider ski for off piste like a daily driver
Yeah totally, it's not the most pin point accurate ski with it's turns, but it carves comfortably, it's versatile, and it punches above it's weight class when it comes to off trail powder performance for similar width skis. I wills ay if you're looking for a deal right now, you can get the QST 98 for $325, which I think is stellar: www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=pl&ti=132&pw=372417&mi=10270&pt=3&pri=793405
@@RicketySkiReviews thank you so so much for responding. One more question tho would a 90mm( Look gx 11) binding fit or should i go with the 100mm Anyways amazing videos!
I think 90 will fit, but I would maybe go where ever you're gonna have mount them and ask their recommendation just to be sure, they may have their own policy
If you're in Canada, flash sale at Spyder, 40% extra off on sale items, just picked up a shell jacket for 64% off, crazy price. And they had lighter baselayer tops for 75% off.
Hard to say. Usually the ski deals are done by now with just a few stragglers and odd sizes, so we're kind of in unchartered waters at this point. Hard to guess without seeing everyone's inventory. But I would guess that skis don't go down from some of these deals listed, but instead other skis that haven't been discounted go down as well, if that makes sense. So if you see something you like in the video maybe hop on it, but if a specific ski you see is only slightly discounted maybe wait. Idk, hard to predict the future.
Same here, people are just used to new year pricing. Craigslist and FB market place also aren't competitive where I live any more. Or at least good finds are few and far between.
In answer to your question of, "Why are there so many deals this close to ski season starting?", the trending warmer winters in the Eastern US, and in Europe, have shortened their ski seasons to the point that peeps don't want to invest thou$sand$ into new gear.
As a novice Midwest skier I'm not positive what I should be looking for in a ski. I got back into skiing last season and started skiing every weekend with my young kids, I am really looking forward to this season and would like to update my skis that are 15 year old. I would classify myself as an intermediate skier but have always just used whatever ski was available. 95% of my skiing will be at a local hill outside of the Twin Cities, MN. Although I love watching the big mountain power videos, and would love to start doing annuals western trips in the future, its just not what I currently have access to. So with that in mind, what is the type of ski I should be looking at? I feel like "All Mountain" skis might be too general for someone that doesn't ski mountains. Is there such thing as a Midwest quiver? or is there a best Midwest ski? Thanks for the content!
I was in a similar situation last year, did a demo day at snowshoe. Tried the Salomon stance 84 and loved it. Bought a pair for this year. Had also tried Brahma 82 and Head shape v5. Liked the head but legs were burning at end of day, Brahma only worked when going fast. Salomon was easiest and most versatile for me.
But the Vokl and K2 reckoners are tempting! Theres a deal on EVO for K2 Reckoner 92 Skis + K2 FL3X Revolve Ski Boots 2024 for 479...Boots and skis for less than I paid for my last pair of boots...
Yes, it seems they have dialed back the performance and made them more accessible. If you are a hard charger go ahead and pick up last years for a deal.
