Great video. First archery elk hunt coming up in a few weeks and these videos and the UEH course are great resources for us. In UEH, you talk about getting on the bull’s level to set up. In this case, why did you choose to set up on the downwind line from the bull, instead of heading up on a line offset to get on his level?
too many variables I would gather. Noise...swirling wind thus bring his smell into the elk. Also remember Corey expected the Bull to move more down the draw instead of coming right at him. So if he would have moved up he might not have had such a wonderful set up as he did. What I have learned over the last 3 years of bow hunting is I have to pay attention to my set up. Corey got his distance set up (saw him pull his range finder). He made sure he set up in a spot in which the Elk had to "funnel" to his location. So it was nice kill zone that he had set up. And of course bottom line...it worked. So maybe he could have gotten the same result but I believe Corey's knowledge on elk hunting is superb and some one we should pattern ourselves in many aspects.

I’m ready for my first elk hunt in a few weeks. I would have assumed that was a steep quartering shot. I couldn’t tel from the video, did you tuck it behind the shoulder or was that a frontal?
Looks like a frontal shot. Slow the video speed down and the arrow appears to have gone straight into the heart. Major blood spurt as the bull turns.

Are you guys on BLM how do you know where you can ride ebikes as they are for sure considered motorized by the forest service?
Any advise for a area that I’ve hunting for couple years now they don’t bugle what so ever but they are there they show up on my trail cam year around.

My son wasn't able to get good enough with his bow this year so,, I've decided to not hunt elk this season..... Let me know - I'll be available immediately after muzzleloader.
