Those things are so cool, reusing those produce bags is such a smart idea!
They really are! They have been really easy to use. Right now we probably have around 15-20 of them holding stuff up!
I will probably save produce bags this winter and use them next season. We will see!
Great tips as always Brandon and for cheap. I use those pantyhose socks(?) 😅Just plop the smaller melon in them and then double tie them to the trellis. Works like a charm. Take care.
They work really well and they are super cheap!
Great tips! Will have to go watch some of your other videos too, Heather at Sage & Stone sent us over to look at your melon support system! 💚
That was very kind of her! She watches and leaves awesome comments on my videos and I definitely appreciate her!
awesome ideas !!
Thank you!
I used some old netting to create a hammock and have my only spaghetti squash growing vertically. I don't think my tiny melon was fertilized but wow 😮😮 that looks amazing. This is my first time growing anything past zucchini. So far my pumpkin is just starting to grow and my watermelon is probably going to wither up but my spaghetti squash in my hammock should be turning yellow soon.
Well, I'm happy you at least have one! That is better than none, right?! The plants that had the lemon drop melons died overnight. I left the melons there to hopefully ripen up on what's left of the vine, but something happened that they didn't like! Next year is a new year though!
I had spaghetti squash last night from one of our plants, it was great!
@@WhitepepperFarmshomestead I was always intimidated by growing corn, large squashes etc. But I now realize it's not as scary as I thought it was. And I love spaghetti squash. I look forward to trying again next year.
It really isn’t! And realistically.. at the end of the day we live in a time that we don’t HAVE to rely on the food of a few plants. So if it doesn’t work out the first few seasons we can learn from our mistakes and try again next year. I made a lot of mistakes this year that I will be working on next year, and it will be the same every year. It’s a constant learning cycle!
How do you preserve melons.
Normally if we don’t eat them quickly we will vacuum seal and freeze them!
Thanks for your help
