Ideal E type boiler repair in progress new thermocouple

Very Old boiler - inefficient comparing to new condensing boilers - but very reliable - normally only one part to go wrong - the thermocouple. Now I have to check the ventilation, check the flue gases with the Flue gas analyser , do a gas rate and make sure its working according to manufacture's instructions!

same boiler as mine. There should be a metal frame and asbestos (!) gasket over the sight glass held on by wingnuts. Wonder where that one went!!

Whats the part which covers the pilot light called? My boiler glass over the pilot light is cracked and ideas??

Sightglass frame with sightglass, gasket, pilot thermocouple gasket. Part Number: 129818035
Although these are almost unobtainable these days, so I made a new sightglass out of a small piece of glass from a fire alarm (smash glass) & glued it in with araldite & some high temp gasket material. Works fine.
