Bro if you think this is a work of art wait till my mates car is done and is featured on someone’s channel, all I’ll say is it’s a MK6 R shell and it will make this one look like a baby and the guy “my friend” built the whole thing himself
The best sounding Golf by far. I had one new in 2008. 3 door DSG in grey… He’s made a great job of updating the powertrain. Making it still very relevant today. Thanks Luke for another great video 👍
I think the golf r32 is a very misunderstood car. An exhaust note like no other,a hatchback with 4wd and a 3.2 is a great base for supercharger/turbo build.
Nice build man! Built mine up in my kitchen and driveway. Forged internals arp everything with a 6266 PTE turbo pulling 550bhp. Daily drive it for 6 us years. Still running the stock brakes and they are more than enough. I've smoked countless 392 Dodges a Bentley Continental Lemans, and a Yahmaha R6. Thing is wild especially when popping flames! Irreplaceable car!
@pazo1993 Mostly. I had a buddy help me move the big parts like the engine block and transmission. I don't have a machine shop so I did have one overbore and fit the forged bits. I have the dyno on my channel. I blew the transmission after beating on it for 8 years. It's very strong but I should've cut the maintenance schedule closer from 40k to 20k miles. Totally my fault SMH.
It's definitey not the only supercharged mk5 R32 in the UK. Maybe the only one running that particular supercharger...... anyway it sounds awesome but I'd imagine is a total understeer machine as the standard ones are even with 250bhp..
They handle quite well with the awd actually considering the weight, From experience they tend to oversteer more than under steer when driven properly.
@@droizey I have it under good authority that that car isn’t on the road anymore and it has a completely different engine in it with a new owner so it isn’t supercharged as we were the only two 😉

The mk4 engine stronger aswel the bottom come from factory with forge crank n rods but not pistons n in my opinion looks way better than the mk5 now when it come to me il get the limited edition
MK4 is arguably more desirable, having owned both I went back to a MK4 R32. While the MK5 drives easier I think the MK4 will drive faster with the right mods, good suspension etc. But each to their own!
Before you decide to get a r32 id suggest experiencing the mk4 aswell. Both amazing cars but sound slightly different from eachother. Awsome video tho 👌🏻 🔥🔥
Lovely car. Very nose heavy. I used Rotrex when supercharging my EP3. Shame you didn't fit lighter wheels. Shame you didn't try to lighten the front end with lightweight Battery, radiator, engine components and carbon bonnet. Lighter seats and dropping the A/C.
Great video and well done matt for building it yourself, I picked up a supercharged mk4r32 this weekend 😀 I've had every golf pretty much and I've come back to the mk4r32
Mine drinks without a charger.....what do u mean its the only mk5 supercharged ? There loads of mk5s about supercharged....??? Theres 4 or 5 on recent videos in uk ans ive seen loads at shows

Ahh...the days of a V6 4WD...That 6 cylinder-burble & growl of the exhaust. Sadly [due to world government interference]...these days are nearly numbered. More impositions on our freedom of choice....Lovely colour as well that mid-grey....
Ea888 is a 4pot turbo so completely different setup and even with just a remap the ea888 is proper nice but the 6 cylinder sound is alot better 😀 I've had a v6 and straight 6 in the past and just the noise is addictive especially on downshifts
Credit to matt for building a beast of a R32 standard they are not all that but stick a Rotrex supercharger on then its a different animal also common sense on the brakes upgrade which lots of people forget or don't budget for nice one matt
Amazing car, always loved the R32s. But remember the road tax £600 and stock 26mpg average. Days of these are numbered I would say unfortunately, as people look for more cars like my Mk7.5 R or the newer GTIs and Rs
Half price road tax for those before April 2006 of which there are quite a few. I’d say the opposite, people are now looking for V6’s and V8’s because they simply don’t make them anymore. These have flown up in value lately.
You definetly need dd an R32 to your garage ,i loved mine so much but the only drawback is the tuning potential is so small unless you go made ,remapping give only about 20bhp more .but a great car to drive. But i now drive a lovely MK6 R in the best colour ,Blue.
Stock DSG is 6 speed. With added power, DSG is the way to go. With a manual trans, you have to build the mechanical bits. With DSG, the trans can be tuned to work with the added power. You can change the pressures, rates and timing of the shifts to save the clutches and still make the most of the power.
It always mind boggles me how some people are so talented that they can build something like this themselves brilliant work 👏
