    Hi Jason,
    Thank you for showing us all the new stuff coming for 2024 from the CES show. I would feel like a kid in a candy store there. The Yoshino power station is interesting because of the solid state batteries. It's nice they take your feedback to make their products better. Bluetti also has some interesting offerings as does Goal Zero. The Pecron E3600LFP is also very nice, looks to compete with the Oupes Mega 3. The Jackery solar cart looks interesting, would like to know more about those solar panels.
    Take care, Steve.

    I really like what Bluetti is doing with removable battery cartridges. It makes it much more versatile because you don’t have to run PV lines to it, just remove a battery and charge it wherever you like.

    • @gary860
      @gary860 4 месяца назад +9

      I didn’t see any way to charge the removable battery except by putting in back in the solar generator. It would be a game changer if you could just charge the battery with an AC plug.

    • @grindychum

      The only way to charge the battery is inserted in a power station - this is a massive over site by bluetti.kind of a moot point to buy 2 sets of batterys.

      Most of those RV A/Cs use around 1500 watts so you'd need something pretty large to get a decent runtime (or something that takes in a bunch of solar to offset the AC power usage). The Pecron E3600 might be a really good candidate for that. It's pretty compact and allows for lots of solar input.

    Goal Zero looks to be finally catching up on some features like LFP, but much like Jackery they’re way more expensive than the rest.
    Honestly don’t get Anker with their 60V solar limit. I thought for their mobile stuff it was to push people to their own expensive solar panels, but why on earth would they stick with 60V on the F3800???

I have had my Ecoflow's DC power stop working after getting caught out in some rain with it. That hatch on the top looks worrisome and I like wireless charging that they usually have. The AC240 looks appealing. Was the solar input a XT60 plug under that cover? Didn't look their common 8mm barrel plug. Can you do something on solar panels that acre 200 watt or higher? That are lightweight which means slightly bendable. I bought a renogy highly rated 200 watt bendable renogy solar panel and it didn’t work. Did not charge much and then just quit. I like renogy and it gets good reviews but really, mine didn’t work at all. Had to send it back .. solar panels that are waterproof are very very heavy for me. That’s why I wanted a lighter weight. Even built it a structure so it would last. Sadly, didn’t even work☹️. Amy other suggestions for completely waterproof.I gut weight 200 plus or above? I’m at a loss…

    • @Jasonoid
      @Jasonoid  3 месяца назад

      @@thelasthallow sorry about that confusion. RUclips doesnt show me the video the comment came from and I just put out a 30 minute video testing the F3800 where I showed exactly what I'm talking about. Let me elaborate on 'the charging range' I was talking about for the F3800. The input voltage for the Anker F3800 for solar is 11v to 60v, which means the solar panels you use on the power station is very limited. This means in order to have the max input you need to find very specific solar panels to max out the charging of 2400 watts at a very high amperage. You also need to put those panels in parallel which requires much larger cable and added cost and components. If you wanted to run 100ft of cable between your solar panel and power station that wiring would cost over $100.
      All other large power stations have 150v to 500v charging range allowing you to use any solar panel on the market in a series configuration. This keeps the cost wire much lower, you can have very long cable runs from your solar panel to your power station without losing power, and you can use any solar panel you want to get that power.
      Anker makes their own solar panel to get the full 2400 watts but each 400w solar panel is $1000 and only has a 1 year warranty. I just bought three 400w solar panels for $450 ($150 each) that have a 25 year warranty so you can see the value of using your own panels. If you want a power station with real solar potential go with a model that has a much higher solar input voltage, not a 60v cutoff.

      @@Jasonoid Seems the guy commenting above doesn't get why having high PV input voltage is so important. I went with Oupes Mega 5 because it has 150vdc PV input comparted to the other comparable units at that price and KWH. He'll see what you mean once he starts running wires from array to the powerstation. Probably under size the cable then be mad at the system not producing expected power. LOL

    That Pecron stuff looks pretty good. They seem to have the 12v side down on their power stations.
    And I'm kinda a Bluetti fan boy.
    I know to much 😔 Those Goal Zero fridges can be had on Vevor's site for dirt cheap. LG I guess was sued by Secop a couple years back for directly copying Secops compressor designs. But a few friends have the LG powered Alpicool's. One took a dump. And he replaced it with a Dometic 55IM.
    Speaking of fridges. I have the Iceco Jp40 and Jp50. I'm going to retire them. They work. However the insulation sucks. I had lost all power in my Peterbilt and in 4 hours in 70 degree weather the Jp50 as a freezer was at 50 degrees when I had the battery fuses replaced. No bueno. I know in 10 hours it took my Dometic 55IM to warm up to 26 degrees after it had become uplugged. In 70 degree weather. Big difference.

      @@Jasonoid Actually both the AJ and JP series chassis have 3.1 inches 79mm of insulation. More than the 55mm of the steel cabinet fridges that Iceco has. More than my beloved Snomaster 85L.
      I think it's because they are shot with insulation that's not very good. And as you know...These are a very common chassis. Alpicool and just about everyone else uses this style of chassis. And they all come from the same place. My sisters VL45 has 55mm. She never complained about it at all. I want to do a experiment with it VS these Jp's.

    I find the small ( 300 w ) solgens and larger ( 2000w / 2000wh ) useful as they ARE portable and the Home units ( Ecoflow Ultra ) can be convenient , though you get the convenience price, as in very high compared to EG4 6000EX and Server Rack batteries , my point is All these mid size as relatively useless as they are too heavy for portable and too small for real cabin, luxury camp, etc uses. Too many engineers in city environments who never camp or cabin.
