No u dont. The subcscription month is to give you ink to your house without you having to go to a store. You can still print, copy and scan but you do need to set up an account for the scanning part. But you wont have to pay for subscription if you dont want to

I do have a HP 6020 Envy and I cannot scan music scores in order to transfer them to PDF format to be used in my Tablet for use on stage (amateur musician, so it's not that I'm gaining a forturne using these PDF's. Is it possible to choose 600 dpi on the HP Smart mobile app? Currently it only lets me choose 300 dpi and it says if I want to scan at a higher quality I need to download the app on a Windows 10 or Mac computer but I have neither of those. I only have a HP chromebook.

I am not sure as I never tried that. You can check with HP customer services.
I left my newly bought HP Envy 6000 at my main door for the recycle collection staff to take it away.
What do I do if my information page comes blank?
Press the wireless button at the back of the printer and then try again.

One printer to avoid… bizzare issue the way the scanner light bar flashes constantly regardless of lid position. Poor quality.

It may be difficult because chromebook has its ability without app. Try using a mobile and use hp smart app in that its easy and fast.
